Really enjoyed the happy hour on Thursday night. The 4 Play band is the music to the karaōke. Great specials and laid back atmosphere. I will be going back pretty soon!

Really great atmosphere with great drinks got the happy elephant. The bartender was new but has a great personality. Would be a great night out place.

Nice staff, but service was beyond poor. Wasn’t greeted upon entering, had to «flag» someone over, was told they’d «be right back with menus», 15 minutes later I walked over to the waiter/bartender for him to say«oh sh! t, sorry I forgot about you guys!» This place has been«dead» every time I have wandered over from the«Roo pub», which is why I gave it the minimum stars, because«minimum» is exactly what you’ll get here. Very nice water/waitress/bartenders, but the complacency is not hidden at all here. From what I understand the owner, owns this bar and the one next door. If so they should just expand the one next door, this one is horrible.

Went on Sunday afternoon and the place was dead. I asked for a mojito but the bartender said she did not have the ingredients so instead I ordered a Pomegranate margarita an my husband ordered a Gold Rush which the bartender said they are out of one of the ingredients. My margarita was too sweet and I think rum was used instead and my husband’s drink was not that great. I also ordered the Obama hot dog which is a Chicago style hot dog. The hot dog itself was good but there was no poppy seed bun, way to much salt, tomatoes were cut too thick and the potato chips were to oily and salty. My husband ordered two other drinks, the Sazerac and an Old Fashioned. The Sazerac was better than the Gold Rush but the Old Fashioned was horrible. It’s made with syrup not an actual surgar cube. This place was a total let down. Bartender was too busy flirting with her boyfriend at the bar, the food suckered, and the drinks were over priced. This place was dead and my husband had to wait until the bartender was done chit chatting to her Bey to get any service. The theme lacked what this place could be but instead is another crappy bar with a misrepresentation of their them. This place lacks the vibe of a political bar.

Surely needs more staffing/waitresses. Not to mention our two item entrees took more than 45mins to come out. Atmosphere was pretty mellow. Would I come back here? I’m not so sure.

Cool bar for a group. It’s very laid back with room for a crowd. Quick service and good vibes.

As this is a political bar, me and two friends came for the Democratic Presidential debate a couple weeks ago. The prices are reasonable and have a good selection of politically themed hot dog plates. they have a huge projector(that shakes a bit and gets kinda distracting,) but overall not a bad place to kickback for not just a debate or anything political, but just in general.

So disappointing! We went to see E7 band who are amazing. We sat for 10 minutes waiting for a drink. No waitress. I went to the bar to order only to be passed up for another 10 minutes. The guy bartender was more interested in the football game and his friends and he ignored everyone else. The girl at the bar was equally as inattentive. We have gone there many times and had great service by a girl named Ale. But apparently she doesn’t work weekends now. That’s a shame. She’s awesome and gives great service. The owner should know what goes on in his/her bar. If it were me, I’d fire the whole crew on 9÷19÷15. It’s too cool of a bar to have employees like them ruin it.

Favorite bar in San Antonio. Friendly bartenders, great service, and some really cool bands on the weekends ranging from country to pop to progressive. And their live karaōke is lots of fun and a great concept. The decide is definitely a conversation starter and the prices are reasonable. Definitely a must check out place.

Horrible service. I will never come to this establishment again. It took an hour for food and at least 20 minutes in between ordering and getting a drink. Callie was our server and blamed everyone but herself for our poor service. The bartenders were great at keeping up with the orders but Callie repeatedly went to two tables and ignored everyone else. I have never heard so many complaints about service.

Issue #1: Hours posted on business door aren’t accurate. Came by twice during business hours and found them closed. Finally popped by on an evening, they seem to open up around 5PM. I understand updating your hours online may take time, but at least post a sign on your door. I almost didn’t come back to give them another chance. Issue #2: Unwelcoming atmosphere. Not sure why I attempted another visit, but when I finally made it in, this place is 90% bar with little to no emphasis on food, despite the fact that it’s filled with tables. Bartender took a while to come over, seemed like the customers present were all regulars, and none were eating. Service was polite, but focused on chatting with regulars. Mixed feelings about the food. The Frito Pie dog was huge, and I like that it used cheese sauce rather than shredded cheese. Hot dog itself was thick and good quality, but did not look or taste fresh. House-made chips were soggy and tasteless, would like the option to substitute another side. If this business is going to stick around, they need to improve their service, food, and marketing. They’re already in a poor location surrounded by mostly vacant storefronts, and there’s another bar(Roos) with cheap food(and better service, and daytime hours) directly next door(and busier than they are) competing with their customer base.

Not very impressed. It’s basically a singles bar(bordering a pick-up joint) for the over 40 crowd. There were large groups of people that clearly thought they were still in college. Very drunk and taking a million selfies — loud and obnoxious. The bartenders: women were Hooters-like outfits and the men wear t-shirts that are two sizes too small around the biceps and pecs. Maybe I’d find this place fun and sexy if I were single and 40+. But I’m not, so I won’t be coming back here. Ordered one of their«famous» politically named hotdogs. It took over 30 min and when it arrived it was cold. Also the beer on tap selection is very limited. Not a good thing. Side note: website says live music on Thurs from 9 – 12. We were there until 9:45 and the band was still doing sound checks.

Love this place! Low key, lots of TVs, great bartenders, super clean and the drinks are yummy! Ashley is my favorite bartender of all times. So sweet and that girl knows how to make some great drinks! Oh and the food! I think they just put out a new menu and the food is AWESOME! Not your typical crappy bar food, this is good food! Served hot and delicious! If you haven’t checked out the angry elephant yet, you’re missing out. Now if you’re looking for a hip hop bar though, this isn’t the place for you but if you want a place where you can relax, hang out, actually talk and be able to hear your friends then this is the place for you!

As most of the reviews here say this is a nice clean bar. It has a great atmosphere and the band playing that night was awesome and from what I hear there’s a new band each Friday. A much needed spot to this ever expanding area which is slightly past the Rim.

Booooooooooooo! I used to love this place. Recommended many friends and family. Why don’t you clean this place up??? It was a nice place. Had a small but good crowd. Good music. Fun regular bar. But now it SMELLS. Call a plumber or buy some air freshener. Hurry. I won’t be coming back more than one more time.

Went here during the NBA finals, because the location next door was crowded. This business and the place next door are connected/related. There was only ONE waitress for the entire place! With that, it took a while to get our drinks, order our food, receive our food… We totally understood that she did the best she could under the circumstances, so it’s not her fault. How can they understaff for the Spurs games?! We ordered food, which came from the same kitchen that served the business next door. Do yourself a favor and eat beforehand. Besides waiting over an hour for our meal, the fries were stale and the burger was an unseasoned meat patty. While you’re at it, don’t order custom drinks either. Michelada tasted like straight tomato mix.

Stopped her to check it out, and got sick from the food. Found out today that they received 37 demerits on their recent health inspection. Don’t believe me? Check it out for yourself: Never again!
