Came here on a Sunday night, got the fettuccini Alfredo. Chicken was tender and juicy but a little over smoked. The food was plentiful but a tad over priced. Service was quick, nice and helpful. The sauce that they have you dip the bread in has a little too much going on. Overall a good meal but most likely won’t be coming again.

This place is on our list to keep coming back. The whole family was there and probably tried half the menu and everyone was impressed — except my wife. She had the crabcakes and wasn’t impressed, but I’ll give them a pass on this dish as it is rare to find it done well. I was impressed by the staff, too. Very professional and service oriented.

Food was amazing! Scallops were the best I’ve ever had. So tender and moist. And the truffle sauce that comes with it is on point! Calamari is delicious and spring rolls were some of the best we’ve ever had. Caesar salad was very basic and nothing special. Service was great! Tuesday nights half price bottle of wine ;)

My first time dining at The Grill, and I have to say I was impressed! The outside was less than impressive, and I wasn’t sure what to expect based on looks alone.(I had researched on Unilocal,so I knew the place had a good rating, but if I was driving by I don’t know if I would stop.) We made reservations for a Saturday night, so we were seated right away. Service was great, and our server was on top of things from the moment we were seated. We asked about the huge sign advertising happy hour, which turns out to be on every day of the week, but only in the bar area. We were already seated in the restaurant, so we decided to forgo the HH. The menu left a lot to be desired in terms of looks alone. I wanted SO badly to take it, redesign it in a much more pleasing fashion, and return it to The Grill… but I’m not sure that’d be appreciated. Regardless, our server helped to navigate us through the menu. Our server was interested in our taste for wine, and he brought us three samples of pinot noir without being prompted. We ended up ordering a malbec that was around $ 30, not bad for a great tasting bottle of wine. The Grill also brings out some warm ciabatta bread to dip in a balsamic/olive oil combo that the servers prepare, which was a nice little starter. They did have delicious sounding appetizers, but we didn’t order any. We both got seafood: I got the scallops with risotto off the chef’s menu, and my hubs got the salmon. Both came out plated beautifully, and DELICIOUS. The scallops were almost as good as Bliss… for much less and way more food. The risotto, although I know it was probably high in calories, was so so so good. I couldn’t stop eating it! My husband’s salmon was delicious as well, and even I liked it. I usually think salmon is too fishy… so this is high praise! Overall, the service and food was impeccable. Although it’s a bit pricey, we used a groupon which helped offset the cost. And I think for the amount you get and the quality of food, it’s worth it for a nice night out.

After eating at Silo, I can honestly say I adore The Grill so much more. The entrees are worth the price point and if you’re feeling sassy, happy hr times and price is very reasonable. Duck breast and Chilean sea bass are fantastic.

Yummy! I was visiting the area and my boyfriend and I were looking for a nice place to have dinner when I found this classy restaurant on Groupon. Upon arrival they have a parking lot with plenty of parking. The parking lot is kind of on the darker side and could use additional lighting. The outside of the building is not very fancy and it was a great surprise when I approached the door and saw into the inside. We were brought to a really nice table and handed the menu. The waiter came over immediately and was extremely nice and helpful in ordering and recommendations. Fresh warm bread was brought to the table as well as a mixture of species, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar which was really good. We ordered the following for dinner: Appetizer– I had the salmon. It is cured in the restaurant. It came with cream cheese, onions, and a small salad. It was extremely good. It does come with a lot of cream cheese so I mostly had the salmon over the salad with onions. The fish was extremely fresh and it cost around $ 12. My boyfriend ordered the Chicken Tortilla Soup. It looked very pretty when they brought it out. He said it was nice but was not his favorite. The cost was $ 8. Dinner– I had the spicy Penne. It was very tasty but had a thick spicy sauce on top which I knew was probably extremely unhealthy. You have the option of either shrimp or chicken. I asked for neither and it was $ 12. It was a very big portion and I took a lot of it to go. My boyfriend had the snapper. It came with Risotto and on the bottom was the same sauce as on my pasta. It was a bit bland but a good portion as well. It was $ 32. We paired our meal with a glass of Malbec. They have a full bar with many options for cocktails. We were too full for dessert. I would recommend the restaurant. I think it was a bit on the pricy side for some of the items but it is a killer deal with the groupon. Enjoy!

Formerly Macaroni Grill, this old stone house has been revamped with a fantastic outdoor patio and temperature controlled wine area. Chef Thierry buys what’s in season and it shows. His menu features standards like pizza and pasta as well as specials like venison and fresh fish. Here’s what we ate, graded on a scale of 1 – 5(5 being best): Appetizers : Calamari(4) — crispy but not crunchy-tender– good sauces Baked Oysters(5) — very tender w/cheese Spring Rolls(3) — least liked app– not enough veggies Enters: Sea Bass(5) — slightly Asian spice w/crispy top Venison(4.5) — great flavor, tender Crab Cakes(5) — high crab to breaking ratio Pork Shank(4) — very tender but veggies one note Candied walnut salad w/chicken Wedge salad –(4) both had great dressings Dessert: Molten Chocolate Cake(5) — so good! The six of us had wine with dinner and the bill came to $ 250 before tip. Very enjoyable!

The Grill is now one of my favorite restaurants in San Antonio. Let’s start with the food. Appetizer — The Calamari was delicious — it wasn’t chewy or tough like the other calamari dishes that I had in the past. It was cooked just right, with the breading crisp and the spice well adjusted. It came with the traditional tomato sauce and another sauce that seemed to be a «The Grill» speciality. Moving onto the blue cheese walnut salad, this was one dish that I wasn’t too largely impressed by. It featured lettuce, walnut, and blue cheese, with a sauce that was slightly tangy, slightly(in my opinion) bitter. I enjoyed the salad, but I might think twice before getting it next time. Now, here’s the part that gets amazing. Entrees — The entrees were so good. I had the Beef Tenderloin Tail Medallions that came with a side of roasted vegetables and a mashed potato/broccoli dish. The beef tenderloin, ordered to medium rare, was cooked just the way I wanted it — it was tender, and delicious. The vegetables and mashed potato/broccoli dish could have had a little more salt and pepper, but I prefer my food more on the bland side, so it was still good. My boyfriend had the rigatoni, which was a pasta with sausage, chorizo, tomato sauce, and the best part of it all: the goat cheese. I’ve never had goat cheese on pasta before, but it went surprisingly well with the dish. To top it off, the service was great. Although it was crowded on a Saturday(glad I made a reservation online), the waiter took care of us promptly, and checked in often. He didn’t seem like he was in a rush, and seemed to enjoy having conversations with us. The chef came out and greeted us, as well, and I was so glad that the staff here was beyond friendly. With the good food and the good service, I didn’t have much time to pay attention to the atmosphere. However, the atmosphere is, no doubt, great — I’d say that it makes a perfect date night. There’s valet parking and non-valet parking specifically for The Grill, and the restaurant itself is set up nicely. Although it was crowded, it wasn’t noisy. My boyfriend and I usually talk a fair amount over food. But at The Grill, we were silent, but for good reason — the food. I’m bringing my parents/family here when they visit.

Was really looking forward to this restaurant after the reviews on Unilocal. So what disappointed from the start. Service a bit slow but server was attentive & friendly, although he did serve my wife’s salad to my nephew(my wonderful wife did not complain so I let it go). The meals were spotty as far as they go-som good, some so-so & some very good, but could only give three star since I was expecting a truly great dining experience based on reviews on Unilocal. Ambience was very good with live music by a Sinatra style presenter. Will likely not return due to inconsistency of meals.

Great food everytime it taste wonderful, but the entertainment on the patio needs to be revamped this is the perfect crowd for the Texas Alley Katz soul, rock, blues, spanish. They cover it all. Check them out on Facebook spell it right, may not be able they are always booked. You will love them.

Came here for lunch and it was not busy. Our waiter was a little strange. We got crab cakes and shrimp for appetizers. The crab cakes were really fresh and delicious. The shrimps came with an amazing orange sauce. I ordered the chicken linguine with basil, tomatoes, and peanuts. The sauce was a bright green color which was very pretty. It was very good. The strawberry pomegranate cocktail wasn’t great. The cucumber one was amazing!

The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is great for family and friends. Or even a date night. The only reason I’m giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is price. I feel like it’s priced a bit higher than it should be. Dinner for two with drinks can easily be $ 100. Still, the food is amazing.

Good overall experience. The waiter was very attentive. The food was good. I had the escargot, pork chop & a Mexican martini. The escargot could have had a little more flavor or salt, the pork chop was on point. The Mexican martini was refreshing & smooth. Would definitely go back.

The crispy calamari was one of the best we’ve ever had! And the house salad with grilled chicken hit the spot too! Will definitely go back! Our waiter was attentive & perfectly timed out all the dishes. It was a wonderful, romantic date night out with my husband. Can’t believe we’ve lived down the street for 6 years &NEVER been! I want to try the beef tenderloin next time. looked so good.

I have to say we will be doing dinner night very often here from now on! I had the grilled lobster with potatoes and butter and we also had the sockeye salmon. Both amazing dishes cooked to perfection, with some red wine and chocolate fondant to go of course since we had no more room. Oh and not to forget the amazing appetizer sampler with different cheeses, vegetables and salami yummy! Plus they have their own oils with cheese for the baked bread they serve with your wine. Loved everything tonight

Great place I really enjoy it. Been there a couple times a while back but recently returned with my friends for our monthly steak night. We had escargot and fried calamari. I liked the escargot because it is mostly just better and garlic. The calamari wasn’t the best I had ever had but was ok. Had the liver and onions for my entrée and it was great. Came with pasta and a fantastic sauce. Others had steak and everyone loved it. It is more reasonably priced than many places but still isn’t that cheap for the steak — however the food is great so it is a good value. I really liked the variety on the menu, but it isn’t so overbored less adventurous eaters can’t find something delicious.

First time to dine at this restaurant. The wife and I showed up at 630 to take advantage of happy hour(4 – 7 every day). Menu wasn’t up to date for tapas(tried ordering dumplings only to be told they haven’t sold them in months). Ordered smoked ribs and shrimp cocktail instead. Both were excellent and good sized, particularly excellent for happy hour prices(½ price). Sangria was good as was the mojito, and again good price for happy hour. Service was a bit slow for taking our orders in the bar. 3.5 stars. Had reservations for 7 pm, so finished happy hour in the bar and went to check in with the hostess at 7. Turns out they didn’t have my name right, but assured us they would have a table ready within 5 minutes. We were assured we could go back to the bar and they would come get us. 20 minutes later, I go back to the hostess and it is obvious they forgot about us. They immediately got us seated despite their forgetfulness. 3 stars. Highlight of our dining trip was dinner(a good thing). Started off with complimentary warm bread served with a balsamic vinegar, herb, and parmesan dipping sauce. Very tasty and slightly different from other restaurants. I had the blackened gulf drum with lemon butter sauce served with roasted potatoes and a warm avocado and onion salad. Excellent in presentation, portion size, flavor and how well everything was cooked(especially the fish). My wife had Beef Tenderloin Tail Medallions with a port wine reduction, garlic mashed potatoes and streamed vegetables. Tender, flavorful, perfectly cooked to medium rare and excellent presentation. Excellent overall meal. Service was average — not bad, but not exceptional either. 5 stars. Took a little while to get our check and didn’t have the best experience using a groupon(felt the waiter could have been more helpful in explaining what we couldn’t use the groupon for… instead we didn’t get the«full» value of the groupon). We enjoyed the décor of the restaurant and though my wife felt it was a little too loud for her liking, I didn’t have any objections. We will definitely be going back as the issues we had weren’t egregious and the most important aspects of the meal(the food) was excellent.

The look of the place is rustic and comfortable. It is larger inside than it looks from the outside. Lunch can be a bit pricey, but the food is quite good. First, the sliced hot bread you are brought right away. It is warm and is served with oil and a medley of spices. Good, good. The bread melts in your mouth. My friend had the angus burger. He liked it, but said next time he’d get one of the plates. I had the spicy penne with shrimp. The five or six shrimp are large to jumbo size with the tails on. The pasta and shrimp are covered with a spicy cheese sauce with sundried tomatoes, a corn relish and sprigs of cilantro. So tasty and so much food. It is served in one of those ‘leaning’ bowls. Service was great. They have a dedicated server to refill drinks and bread. Much appreciated. Give this place a try.
