The Park Bar

This location is closed. There’s nothing in the building, but a bar and some yellow paint.

I’m reviewing this place based on the visits I’ve made there while doing stand-​up comedy. They have an open mic late on Wednesday nights, usually starting at 11pm or so. This is a younger, college crowd since it’s real close to UTSA. Drinks are quite cheap and they have great drink specials. The open mic crowd is usually responsive and appreciates humor, they have a good time. I wouldn’t go here on my own, ’cause I’m an old geezer and all, but it’s an ok place for comedy if you don’t mind hanging around till late.

I like the park. Their happy hour is amaaaazing and cheap, perfect for college students. At night it turns into a club kind of but I think it makes it even better. Would give it 5 stars but there is this bartender there thats kind of rude and obnoxious. He probably owns it.

This is an alright kind of place. The thing that I really enjoyed was the assorted games including a table top version of Pac Man that was a lot of fun to play. There appeared to be a lot of drink specials and the place wasn’t super crowded. The music was a little loud in the main room but in the secondary room it wasn’t that bad.
The odd thing was the congregation of high school/​under aged people outside the bar staging an impromptu car show/​hang out. It was weird.

Parked myself here on a Saturday night to watch the UFC fight for free.
Good crowd… mostly college students but got along great with regular patrons, didn’t witness any obnoxiousness. It wasn’t too crowded yet there were enough people here that it wasn’t boring. I wasn’t drinking this night but seems like the small pitcher of Long Island Iced Tea is really popular here even among the guys. According to my friend good prices on beer– 2 bud selects– $ 3.25.
They don’t sell food but allow you to bring in outside food. I was getting hungry from smelling wings. The table next to us had mexican food and Domino’s even delivered!
They also have 3 pool tables in one room and another room is also connected with other games. There are tables outside if you need to smoke or just want to enjoy the San Antonio weather.
Overall cool chill casual bar.
