Loved this quaint little place. Excellent varieties of coffee beans from all over the world. Very helpful staff… answered my questions with tons of info. Super reasonable prices. $ 2 for coffee. Soooo glad i found this place. Will definately come back.

Coolest place I found by accident. Went looking for some good local brew after dropping off someone at the airport and found this place nearby on Unilocal.I didn’t find the hot fresh coffee I was hoping for, but I did find something much better. What’s Brewing offers a wide range of select coffee beans from around the world, all roasted locally. Sammy, the plant manager, spent all the time we wanted answering questions and telling us about the varietals they offered. As a further testament of the value What’s Brewing has to offer, while we were there an older gentleman came in to pick up ¼ lb of every coffee they offered, just because he enjoyed the daily variety. At last count he had 22 pouches filled on the counter. Not only did we make off with several half lbs of regional coffees but we also left with a greater appreciation for the coffee roasting process and differences in the unique flavors of the world. Sammy was also kind enough to send us home with a couple of small sample bags of additional bean varietals, gratis, for us to try. Since that visit I have been thoroughly enjoying their Decaf Roger’s Blend, which Sammy mixed for me fresh in the store, and my son has enjoyed the flavors of his selections prepared in the Chemex pour-over coffee maker we picked up at What’s Brewing. Can’t wait to go back to replenish my coffee beans when I’m back in town.

Quick way to get your coffee at the farmers market. $ 2 iced coffee was perfect. Cash only and it is much easier than hitting up an actual shop. Half n half or almond milk, Splenda and stevie offered. Perfect!

As far as coffee goes in San Antonio, this place is top notch. Such a wonderful find in the Pearl’s farmer’s market. My husband loved his hot coffee, and my cold brewed mint chocolate coffee was superb. And two coffees for only $ 4? What? That’s pretty good for the great quality of this coffee. We are so looking forward to buying some of their beans! So glad to finally find a great place that also roasts their own beans. Yay!

The first time I learned out about these people was when I went to the Pearl Farmers Market on a Saturday morning. I had a cup of their coffee and I thought it was pretty good. Then a week later, one of my favorite coffee shops tells me that they get all their coffee from here and that I should try it. I made a trip out to the random address where their store is and I can tell you that it changed my life. The store is just a place to pick up fresh roasted beans but the coffee is the best in San Antonio. We picked up several different pounds of their coffee and every single one of the were amazing. Our friends love this coffee, we give away their coffee as gifts, and I take it to my coworkers all the time. I used to honestly be the person who bought Starbucks 24⁄7 and in the last few months I maybe have gone a time or two just to read a book and get a drink. Do your self a favor and try their coffee. You will notice a huge difference in the favor, because it is so fresh, and the options are endless. What’s also cool is that this family owned business really is a family owned /run business; one of the son’s helped us one day and this teenager knew more about coffee than most baristas combined Don’t take my word for it but give it a shot and let me know what you think.

I buy a cup of coffee from them every time I go to the Pearl Farmer’s Market. They serve the only French roast that I’ve had that I like. I also usually leave with a ½ pound of one of their fresh roasts. Yesterday I found their brick-and-mortar business, which as it turns out is just around the corner from my house! I walk in and see a couple of long rows of bins filled with a myriad of different coffees, some listed by varietal others by the roast. I opted for a half-er of Tanzania Peaberry. They also see loose teas by the ounce so I picked up a couple of ounces of lavender mint tea for my wife. Their prices are very reasonable given the quality and freshness. You can bet that I’ll still buy cups of coffee from them when I’m at the Pearl on Saturday mornings, but I’ll be going around the corner to more often than that to get my coffee for home!
