Great food, great friendly service and an overall great place to eat. Burgers, chicken-fried-steak, fish tacos, & every-single-item we’ve ever tried here has been delicious! A few arcade games and even a sandbox for little the little kids while they wait on the food. What’s not to love here?

I have eaten here several times. They have a punch card program, but don’t necessarily advertise that. Ask your waitress for one because you will be coming back. I’ve had the salads, an appetizer platter, and several of the burgers. I have yet to have any complaints about the food or service. However, nothing so far has been at the OMG you have to try this kind of level. I’ll keep looking though :-)

I love this place! The fried pickles are the best in town for sure. Ice cold beer and super fast service. You will not be disappointed!

My family enjoys this place and the reason I will eat here is because of the great Mediterranean Salad. I wouldn’t have expected to find a vegetarian salad at a restaurant like this and it’s one of the best salads around. It’s a place that has something for everyone.

We used to visit the many Willie’s locations when we lived in Houston, but now we live in Austin. We love the food and the service. My go to meal is the fried crawfish. Our kids really enjoy Willie’s because they love playing in the sand box and playing the arcade games. We recently visited the 151 and Ingram Road location in San Antonio after a visit to Sea World. We were almost back in Austin when my son realized that he left his iPad at Willie’s. We called and asked that they hold it for us until we could get back to San Antonio. Later that week we received a call from Mr. Scecina offering to ship the iPad to us. We received the iPad along with a wonderful note stating that they had charged and cleaned it. My son was extremely excited and thankful. Mr. Scecina and his team went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. You can bet that our family will continue to visit Willie’s near Sea World on all of our future visits to San Antonio.

Met up with my wife and mother-in-law for lunch on my way in to work today. This was our second time eating at Willie’s and both times were phenomenal! This trip we all had the grilled chicken sandwich and absolutely enjoyed the meal. The first trip I had a burger and loved it. Both times the service was prompt and prices were extremely reasonable. I highly recommend eating at Willie’s and will certainly be back again many times!

Am I the waiter? My first time at this establishment in a party 2 at lunch time, left me with questions. The service was a peculiar and some if the concepts are interesting. You order with a person who gives you a ticket with my order then you find a place to sit down and then a waitress looks at the ticket and puts in the order. I refilled my own drinks, I’m not sure if I was supposed to or not. I don’t mind refilling my drink but then I’m basically leaving a tip for the server to bring me food, cause that’s about all she did. The food: We had the queso which was plentiful and delicious. My entrée was the Philly cheese steak which was very good as well and a great portion size. Verdict: I don’t think I’d go back on my own accord, only if meeting friends or family.

Big, loud, and fun. That’s Willie’s. Nothing fancy, special, or unique about this place. However, they do most things well and the food is good to very good. First time to this location for a long-time patron of the 281 and 1604 shops. Many other places in town that do things better, so this will remain a 2nd choice eatery.

The day I went was packed, they’d ran out of a few items in the menu. The food was ok. The burger was not extraordinary. The baked potato was decent enough… The service was good enough to grant them 3 stars…

This was my first experience here, and there were 12 in our group. This place is nicely designed to accommodate large and small groups, so seating was not an issue. There are about 5TV’s that are well placed for good viewing at any angle. Near the very clean restrooms are several video games, so kids and adults can entertain themselves if you have enough quarters. They have a wide variety of domestic and imported beer. This is very important if you love beer as much as I do. FYI… the pitcher of beer is 36 ounces and the tall glass is 23 ounces. I recommend the pitcher. The menu was filled with a good selection of choices. Some of the items are basic appetizers, like fried pickles, hot wings, stuffed jalapeños and mozzarella cheese sticks. Lunch and dinner items include salads, baked potatoes, sandwiches, grilled and fried seafood, crawfish and steak. I was impressed by the quality of the food. It was very good. For appetizers we had the hot wings, mozzarella cheese sticks and onion rings. They were both awesome! For dinner we had sirloin steak with shrimp, the seafood platter, a cheese burger, and a baked potato loaded with chicken. The food was delicious! We also had crawfish. Several of us shared about 12 pounds. I’m warning you crawfish lovers now. THISISNOTTHEPLACETOGO! The crawfish came with corn and potatoes. Neither were seasoned. They tasted like nothing. The medium spicy crawfish lacked spicy and taste. We asked for more seasoning at the table and tried to hook them up a little bit ourselves. Two thumbs down on the crawfish. The service is kind of slow, but the waiters are very nice. It seemed like there wasn’t enough waiters to accommodate the number of people in the restaurant. Be prepared wait for anything you ask for. Bring your patience with you. These are young folks who are working hard, and they are doing the best that they can. This is a warning for you… Their system is totally whack. Upon entering, you place your order, get your drink then go to your seat with your order ticket. A waiter comes to your table and verifies your order then takes it to the kitchen. This system is crazy and I believe it adds to the slow service. The food took a long time to get to our table. Maybe there was only one cook in the back or was the service bad? I’m not sure. Overall the food was good and we all left with a smile on our face, so whenever I’m in San Antonio I’ll pay them another visit.

Very interesting setup. U order first, get ur drink, sit n a server comes to ur table n picks up ur tkt n brings ur food n the check. My mom ordered the fried catfish n it was light n crunchy n the onion rings r AWSUM!!! I had the blackened fish tacos, delicious! Not fishy what so ever n the tortilla was soft but held all of my fish goodness in. BUT we started out with the Compechana an it was OUTOFTHISWORLDFRESH!!! If u havnt been try this place! We will b back!

Alright So I gave this place another try after my last horrible experience. I must say«Superub» CUSTOMERSERVICE…. We came out to grab something to eat before the Big SPURS game 6 and I was totally impressed, from waiting in a what seemed to be a long wait in line. It actually went faster than I thought, the place was busy the entire inside tables were taken but as soon as we placed our order got our drinks we were able to find a table right away. We were approached immediately by our waitress unlike my last visit, to my surprise our order also didn’t take to long. We all had the burgers, the only thing is the buns were cold and the spices on them a little to much but other than that appetizers were good and the fried pickles not to oily like some places. Over all, had a way better experience this time around :) Thanks to the Management Team for. making it happen!!!

First time to this location. Friendly and quick service. Was wanting to get my boiled crawfish fix and this place did just the trick. Heads up though, their crawfish has quite the kick, lots of good ol’ seasoning. We also ordered their small order of fried mushrooms. Their«small» order was actually quite big. The mushrooms didn’t have much flavor in themselves but the gravy that came with helped with that. The shrimp campechana was very good, fresh tasting and very big. Let’s just say everything here is a big portion, can’t complain about that. I’ll probably be dropping by again soon for another crawfish fixing. Got to get them while they’re hot!

I’ve been going there pretty frequently the last few months for crawfish with my friends. $ 8/lb with a potato and corn is a good deal especially considering I’ve never have them tell me they ran out(*cough cough* pappadeaux) FYI: Happy hour wine prices last until 6.

A little bit River Road, a little bit rural. Unconventional in ordering processes, but that’s ok, Go to the counter, get order written down in restaurant code, choose seating, servers pick up order(and read it back to you), then turn it in to the kitchen. Quite friendly Tables all have ample salt and pepper, packaged knife and fork Ketchup, paper towels Sugar and sweetener packs. Drinks are refilled by server after the first fill. Fried catfish was lightly breaded and a tad undercooked to my preference Fries were seasoned and perfect Coleslaw was fresh Server Jordan is on point I’ve tried the burgers, Large patty large buns, fresh toppings, ok flavor Wifi pw on request

It’s quite possibly too early to form a good opinion of Willie’s considering I have been there just once for lunch on a weekday and have only tried one of their meals. That being said, here goes… Willie’s does the mash-up thing, just like Malibu, where you stand in line to order at the counter. You’re then given your number and are free to seat yourself. Drinks are also self serve. The ordering process seemed to go without a hitch but I can imagine first-time patrons might need more time to look over the menu printed on the wall behind the registers, if I recall correctly… I may be mistaken. My wife, upon learning that I would be dining out for lunch, insisted that I eat something healthful. I promised her I would eat a salad. OK, so unsweetened tea and taco salad for me… Our(I was with the office crowd) meals came out fairly quickly which is always a bonus. The taco salad had all the right components such as the tortilla bowl, lettuce, tomato, assorted«fixins,» seasoned beef, and cheese. The beef was just ok as I thought it could have been more strongly spiced. One other thing that could be improved is the salsa — it was rather weak and bland. I prefer a chunkier salsa. Everyone in our party seemed to enjoy their meals. The waitress that brought our food did a nice job of being attentive but not overly so. The place, esthetically, is a cross between the bare ceilings and concrete floors of Bigz and any number of your big-chain eateries like Chili’s, TGI Friday’s etc. One HUGE thing I loved about Willie’s is the sink in the men’s room. It a cavernously-deep basin with unrestricted water flow. One of my pet peeves are those mincy little faucets where one must drag their knuckles against the porcelain while feverishly attempting to get enough water flow over the hands sufficient to rinse some foul-smelling perfumed soap that leaves you hands«clean, moisturized, and smelling great.» Who needs it?! Not this guy! Well done on that front, Mr. Willy!

Willie’s is a Texas-based chain, but it has the ambience of a local place. It feels like an old fillin’ station that someone converted into a restaurant. We chose it as the site of our most recent monthly office lunch outing, and everyone in our group was pleased with their food and the experience overall. I had the fried seafood platter, which featured catfish, shrimp and crawfish tails – very nice. Others at the table had burgers, chicken sandwiches and salads. And they have a military discount, which is always a plus in my book. The ordering system is a little odd: there’s a line from the door to a hostess station where you place your order. The hostess hands you a ticket and shows you where to get your drink(s). Then you find a table and hand the ticket to your server, who brings the food. This was no problem at lunch, although the line was getting pretty long by the time we left. This arrangement might not work at all on a crowded evening. All in all, a pleasant place for a lunch. We’ll be adding this one to the rotation. Give ‘em a try!

First time here. Enter and request your order than fix your own drink and find a place to sit. You wait for a server to notice you that’s when they take your order. Got the hamburger okay but a little dry, fries hot and crispy, hubby got the salad and that was tasty. I’ll give this place another try and pick something else
