Poor service from the jump. No greeting or Welcome. The girl at the window spoke very low and unclear, she got our order wrong and her attempt to remedy the issue was weak as well. She had to ask us for our credit card twice. We waited for longer than usual, everything moved slow. Everyone in the kitchen seemed to be off track, unsure, unprofessional and totally unorganized.
The food was put together sloppily. Way too much lettuce and toppings, more than meat. The patties were shapeless, breaking apart, thin and almost burned. The taste was OK, but nothing special or memorable. Another Reviewer mentioned that they prefer Burger King or McDonalds than eat at Freddie’s… Well I agree 100%. Don’t waste your time or money here. If there are any Freddie’s that have better service and food, this one definitely makes them look bad. Undercover Boss should pay this location a visit. Will not be returning. No Thanks.

I don’t usually eat fast food… But when I do I go to Freddy’s. Why? Because they are the only fast food place I know of that makes a veggie burger. Hence the four stars. You can order their bean burger with or without cheese and it’s actually a good burger. And I like their skinny fries. The restaurant is clean inside and I have found the service to be quick and friendly.

A total let-​down. Was expecting it to be similar to a Wisconsin-​based Culvers… Not even close. In all honesty, I’d prefer to go to Burger King or McDonalds before Freddy’s. If Culvers ever comes to San Antonio, Freddy’s will probably cease to exist.

I love going to Freddies. The burgers are well seasoned buns buttered & toasted. The custard desserts are sublime. The atmosphere is great with retro music too!!!

There are so many Freddy’s and I don’t see what for. This place is not great. The food was mediocre and the service was crappy. Worse, it was a manager who took our order and had an attitude of take our order, take our money, the end. No hello. No welcome. No help or explanation after we told him we’ve never had Freddy’s before. No manners. Never again will we go.

Went to Freddy’s on my lunch break. Asked several times that the burger not have cheese on it.
Was in a rush, didn’t check it… got back to work and it was slathered in cheese.
For how much they charge for a burger it would be nice if they could pay attention to detail. Not worth going back and will not go there again.

The service was about a four only because I prefer customer service have a smile but other than that, we had everything we needed. I love that they make their own Custurd right there on property and it was super delicious. Yummy stop of the day.

I have never been to a Freddy’s before until I moved to San Antonio about a week ago. There is one by my house and when my friend and I went there to get ice cream I ordered the dirt and worms mini size (too much ice cream makes me sick). Then today I got another dirt and worms but also with a #1 just the burger though. The ice cream was absolutely amazing… AGAIN! The burger was great, especially with the fry sauce I added to it but was a tad too salty. It was greasy of course, which my friend pre-​warned me but over all was really good. I could compare it to an In and Out Burger but it was definately bigger and better than that.
Inner Fat Kid Says: I don’t like dirt and worms… unless it’s my ice cream! Then it’s delicious!

What a yummy treat!
This was my first time at Freddy’s and I really enjoyed it. I am very particular about my ice cream and this pace was really good.
They have lots of yummy options with chocolate and caramel and candy pieces. I tried the mini, which don’t be fooled by the size it was plenty. I chose hot fudge and Butterfingers pieces.
The ice cream was delicious and creamy and mixed with the hot fudge and candy pieces, it was wonderful! I agree with previous reviews this ice cream is absolutely heavenly!

The VERY best fast food choice in San Antonio! Excellent service, good choices of burger (I’m partial to either the California style with lettuce, onion, tomato, etc., or the bacon double cheese), choice of fries – plain (very good!), or add melted cheese and/​or chili, and of course the main reason you go to Freddy’s, the frozen custard! I especially like that you can get your favorite flavor (turtle, cashew, Heath, whatEVER) with your choice of regular or chocolate concrete. A taste of HEAVEN!

Wanted to go to Freddy’s as it’s on many Unilocalers lists as a great hamburger joint. This one is pretty close to my office and having to do errands yesterday at lunch, thought I’d give it a try.
I almost decided to go elsewhere as all the other drive-​through fast food places were jammed with cars and this one wasn’t. Now I know why.
Got the steakburger w/​cheese and bacon, fries and subbed a choc milkshake for the drink. Service was pleasant and quick probably because I was the only one in the drive through. That was the only good thing.
Burger was overcooked. Bacon was overcooked. Fries were ok but they skimped and my regular shake was pretty small. I really didn’t want to complain, but their mini must be really mini — lol. Shake was ok, and the small (regular) was enough.
I’d rather go to Chester’s or even What a Burger. Pass on Freddy’s.

The best customer service! I appreciate that the workers are young yet they are super friendly and don’t have that bad «you’re bothering me» attitude.
We go to Freddys often and have never had our order messed up. It’s perfect everytime.
The food is tasty. Hubby and I like te burgers. They are thin patties of meat with super flavor. My sons love the shoe string fries and chicken tenders with ranch.

I have been to Freddy’s several times in Dallas but have always went for the Custard… which I eat but now that I think about it I am not sure if I like it or not. but on this trip we stopped in here for actual food-​type-​stuff. And I liked it.
The fries were showstring style just the way I like them. The fry seasoning that you can season your fries with matches well with the malt vinegar as well.
The burger tasted fresh (as fresh as fast food can get I guess) and was delicious. I will visit Freddy’s more often for the food.

I’m definitely a frozen custard fan now thanks to Freddy’s! Their chicken strips were okay. My husband didn’t care for his burger too much. But everyone enjoyed their skinny French fries. I say definitely get some frozen custard if you try this place.

This custard is so creamy and decadent I want to call it «sexual chocolate». (Man that boy can sing!)
We used to take day trips to Austin for Steak n Shake but no longer. Freddy’s serves up wonderful tasty grilled steak burgers and skinny shoestring fries with heavy salt. Yum. The dogs are nothing to brag about but then again it’s not called Freddy’s Chicago Dog.
If you come here, and I know that you will, save room for dessert or just come for the dessert. You will not believe how thick and creamy this stuff is and watching the bars of frozen goodness ooze from the machines behind the counter is a treat in itself.
Next week I’ll try Franky’s Frozen Mustard.
