So I arrive at this YOGURTZONE on 1604 and Culebra in San Antonio, TX. I sit down to wait for kids and wife. I’m texting back and forth … Lady who works there comes up to me and asks if I’m waiting for someone, I say, «yes»… Five minutes later owner: white older male, asks, «are you waiting for someone ?» and I say, «yes, is that a problem?». He then proceeds to tell me, «If there is a problem I would be the person to know since I am the owner!» He then asked again if I were waiting for someone. Just then my wife drives up and I go outside and tell her what just happened. I couldn’t let my kids down … They were expecting ice cream yogurt. We went inside and got yogurt and while I was serving a bowl of yogurt an employee came up to me and said,” I’m so sorry the owner treated you that way, he does that a lot.” I was like, «you don’t treat people that way!». When I stepped up to the register to pay, the owner proceeded to add insult to injury by saying, «I thought you were one of the pesky contractors that comes by all the time.» I guess the contractor is Mexican and works at a high school and dresses in jeans and tennis shoes and carries around a cool phone. He tried giving me a lame apology! With a lame excuse! Racist ice cream shop owner! Not going there ever again! Boycott this place for sure if you have kids, are a family, are by chance ethnically different, and surely if you are texting on your iPhone! Then to top it off, my 7 yr old has an allergic reaction to the angel food frozen yogurt cause it had eggs! Of which she’s deathly allergic to! Then they don’t even ask if she’s okay! 02/17/2012. P. S. Owner contacted me through the review … «stating that nothing like this had happened… wow!, the NERVE!»

Have always gone to spoon it and decided to try yogurt zone instead. Well the price maybe better but the staff was less than pleasant and I’ll pay more for good customer service in a heart beat. Being pleasant isn’t that hard, I mean if someone goes to spend money at your place of employment at least be kind.

Friendly young employees and delicious soft serve. They have certain flavors regularly and certain machines are always changing, which is fun. And free wifi! The yellow cake flavor is definitely the best. I recommend getting that with some chocolatey toppings. Mmmmm…

This place is my new heaven for a treat after dinner on a Sunday. The yogurt is really good, the flavors are really tasty. The best thing is self serve, you pay by the ounce, you can control the amount of yogurt and the many topping you want. Mix as much as you like or as little. The selection of topping goes from fresh fruit to chocolate, nuts and anything you can thing to put on an ice cream. During the week Monday –Friday is happy hour between 11am-2pm.
