I really like coming to this location. They are pretty friendly, and recently had a little upgrade to the store. I like the variety of their salsa bar, and they just added a couple of fridges for beverages. I don’t think that I have had a bad experience here, all pretty positive things. My mother and I have pretty frequent lunch dates here, but have a tendency to get the same things. It would be nice if it was more clear to where the restroom was, which is behind the kitchen which seems like it is in the employee area, however, I am thankful that they allow it to be a customer restroom. I also came in one time but couldn’t stay to eat because it smelled like cleaning supplies. I like that they were trying to keep the place clean, but ventilation would have been helpful.

Grabbed lunch at La Salsa San Bruno for the last time today. The food is decent as long as you recognize it as a non-authentic Mexican semi fast-food restaurant. The problem is the sanitation is terrible. I couldn’t even get myself to eat the food I ordered after witnessing the store manager handle food with his bare hands. Another lady brought it to his attention, and he said he did not handle her food… ok… but did he handle mine? Done here for good.

Decent chicken burrito, but tables, floors and trays were really dirty. Restroom was in the back kitchen area. Not a comfortable setting, would not come back.

Really liked the veggie bowl with chicken. Lots of veggies with black beans and rice at the bottom — the poblano pepper makes the dish. The chips are super thin, just the way I like them. Tried ordering using Eat24 for the first time — all went perfect. My order was there waiting for me to pick up.

My wife & I have eaten here 3 or 4 times now. And every time the nachos I’ve ordered have been mediocre. Apparently they think dumping a big dollop of guacamole & sour cream on them and not much else makes for good nachos. Uh I thought if you order carne asada nachos, they should provide some meat with the nachos? I guess not. Also, why do they ask you what kind of beans you want if they’re not going to put them on the nachos? I also bought a carne asada burrito for my stepdaughter the last time I was there. When she opened it, we all discovered the burrito consisted of lots of rice and very little meat or beans. I paid close to $ 30 for the burrito &2 orders of nachos and walked away feeling very ripped off. Funny how the times we’ve gone in there, I’ve hardly seen anyone else in there. We won’t be going back there again either. I hope Baja Fresh dumps them too.

I just wrote a pretty long review. They lost it. Anyway this food is very good and affordable. Consistent. Awesome salsa bar. Fresh. Black beans rock.

my husband likes this place, i don’t. my husband wanted some quick food, but not too much. we were nearby, so we stopped in. he had the overstuffed steak burrito, and i ate the chicken taquitos. we also got chips & salsa, and shared an iced tea. i felt my food was bland, and i didn’t even eat it all, but he finished my dish. he liked his burrito, but i think he was starving. we walk out of the restaurant and he says, «i think i need to use the restroom». it happened that quick and it wasn’t pretty. he was out for the rest of the day. i had an upset stomach and drank cup after cup of herbal tea to ease the rumblings. i don’t know what got us sick, except to say it was something from this restaurant. i am guessing it was the salsa bar? i don’t know, but it was not good. BEWARE.

I used La Salsa for a catered business lunch for a large group this week, and they were top-notch, start to finish! The manager, Wilton, helped me with the order and figuring out quantities. The food was delivered on time, was fresh, delicious and made my client very happy! Presentation as well as quality was awesome — definitely exceeded expectations. Wilton came in personally to help set up the food, and his follow-up call at the end of the day to make sure everything was good, was simply above and beyond! Would highly recommend La Salsa and Wilton — and will definitely use them again!

The food is terrible. Yesterday I ordered the nachos and let’s start with the no flavor guacamole and then move to the stale chips and the tough flavorless chicken. Now we can talk about how the cheese liked to be melted cheese slices Cheese was only on the very top of the nachos 2 b honest Taco Bell nachos blows this place out of the water. I will never come here again and I hope Baja Fresh drops them from their family of locations because la salsa is bringing them down. They also always forget to give you the free chips(they suck anyway so)

I used to go to La Salsa a lot before when I was still in college. Why I stopped going, I actually have no clue why. I was always a fan of their Grilled Mahi Mahi Burrito. So on a random night, I decided to stop by for another go. And it’s good to know that it’s still just as good. Veracruz Burrito w/Grilled Mahi Mahi – Grilled Mahi Mahi with Jack Cheese, Rice, Vercruz Sauce, fresh salsa Mexicana, shredded cabbage, avocado and poblano crema Yeah, there’s a lot going on with this burrito but it’s a pretty solid fish burrito. The portion size is good, not Mission Burrito huge, but well enough to satisfy me. And there’s plenty of flavor going on with the avocado and poblano crema. I haven’t really tried anything else really at La Salsa, mainly because I enjoy their Mahi Mahi burrito too much to try anything else I don’t know that many taquerias out there that can make this. Even Chipotle doesn’t have something like this. Another plus is that it comes with a side of chips and salad and they have a very decent salsa bar with unique flavors like mango, avocado, and even cranberry. I’m glad to see that La Salsa in San Bruno is still around after all these years. So if I’m ever craving a grilled fish burrito, I definitely know where to go.

Mediocre food. Didn’t see, taste or smell anything that excited me. Very Americanized Mexican food. I think these are chili beans from a can and Spanish rice from a bag. The kind you buy at the grocery store. Had the shrimp tacos because I had told the lady at the register I had never been here and asked what was good. She recommended the shrimp tacos saying they were really good. If that’s the best this place has then I don’t care to explore the rest of the menu. Not a bad but not a good review. Just being honest. Sorry la salsa not quite what I was looking for. My quest continues to discover some really great close by Mexican food.

Must of ordered off the white guy menu. Burrito was $ 2 more than the two orders behind me.

Two days ago I figured I’d stop by for a chicken salad on my way home from work. The Chile-Lime Salad was actually really good, the chicken was tender and flavorful, and it was a super large portion. Today I felt like a chicken salad again, so I ordered for pick-up through the online app at my work. The salad was okay… but I’m really glad the chicken was so scarce because it was absolutely disgusting. It was clearly burnt, too tough to even eat, just completely inedible. Thankfully, the small amount of burnt chicken was all lumped together at the bottom of the salad, so it was easy to take it out and just eat the salad. Plus, there was barely any dressing or avocado on the salad, unlike two days before. I’m not sure why the chicken was so disgusting this time and why there was so little of it compared to when I had it two days ago. Maybe they decided to skimp on fresh toppings because I placed it through the online ordering app… which, still isn’t cool. I will not be coming back.

First time here but the service is already friendly. The guy that took our orders at the counter was John & he gave us many suggestions before we selected. A lot of choices, but we were able to select the shrimp los cabos burritos & a quesadilla meal for our daughter. This place is a lot healthier than other main Mexican food restaurants. It’s like a Chiptole or Rubios. Plenty of parking & near a lot of places to do some shopping before or after you eat. Prices aren’t bad & a decent spot if your near the area looking for Mexican food.

Why do people come to La Salsa? Well, being a chain Mexican place, I expect: clean, americanized(not great food, but at least standard), well trained employees, etc. Regret going here, should have opted for one of the many ‘real’ Mexican places nearby. The service was just horrible — yes, I expect that you know the menu and that my steak doesn’t look and taste like chicken(even when you asked me TWICE and I said steak). Also, how long does it take to make a salad??? And do you know the difference between black and pinto beans? Again, you asked me, I said black… why do I have pinto? Oh, and«sour cream on the side»… yes, I want it on the side instead on the salad mixed in! and no, I don’t want an extra side of that! Overall, horrible experience. This location should be closed!

The sign at the door claims La Salsa opens at 8:00 am. At 8:05 we knock on the door. The employee motions at us from across the room, holding up all fingers and a thumb. «We open at nine.» «The sign says eight,» I reply. He shakes his head. What’s wrong with fast food employees? How hard is it to update your sign? Please, folks. This is the ultimate of laziness.

I went here using a groupon. It’s okay but I’d rather spend my $ 6.50 at a taqueria for a bigger better tasting burrito. Like the ones from la tapatia on grand in ssf. I do like the salsa bar and free chips :)

We visited on a recent Saturday night. I’m pretty sure the kid taking our order was on drugs. He was speaking fast, and his lips and teeth barely moved. His hands were shaking too. Also, I asked for NOSOURCREAM on my nachos twice, but he forgot to mark it in the order. Next, my order comes out with sour cream on it. I told the cook«I said no sour cream» and he wanted to argue that it doesn’t say it on the order. I politely told him«your coworker made a mistake.» He was visibly tense, but he remade my nachos without further argument. So, my nachos without sour cream also didn’t have salsa or guacamole, like it’s supposed to have. But at this point, I felt like it was a losing battle. I just ate what I was given. I made sure to bring home the reciept, and will be reporting this incident to their corporate office. Kids on drugs should not be running a store.

Visited this place a few times now and seems to be a bit hit or miss. First couple of times I ordered the Chicken Quesadilla which were pretty good but recently tried the soft Chicken Tacos( ) which were ‘blah’ they lacked flavour and the Taco shell was just plain bad. My husband say’s they do good Burritos though, I’m going to take his word for it. You get a small portion of chips with every order and I like the fact you can help yourself to salsa ect. Ok for a quick lunch.
