I love their Bun Bo Hue!!! I go for it almost once a week and it’s always good all the time ! However, their to-go service really drives me crazy because the soup always seeps out of the container and the napkin gets soaked, the whole bag becomes oily !! Other than that, I am all happy with the way it tastes.

I love there Shrimp Egg Roll I think of all the Viet Rest they have the best shrimp Egg Roll. I’m giving me 2 strata because I found a freaking hair on my food(see pic I posted). I told the lady and she just took the bowl and replace it walk away like it’s ok and replace me with new one came back with another bowl(not sure if she just scoop it). I think they Gould tie there hair while working to avoid this things to happen.

A decent place in the mall, outside of the food count and has its own seating. I ordered the combo plate with grilled pork and spring roll. The flavor was good and the spring roll nicely fried with light fluffy batter, just not exactly what I expected(and I can’t really tell what was in the spring roll). Overall pretty good and as expected, just no fireworks.

Let me get straight to the point… The beef plate looked good but beef was lacking flavor. The Cabbage salad with chicken sounded good but the chicken was lacking flavor. I only ended up eating the cabbage. 2 out of three dishes with no flavor=no bueno! The house rolls on the other hand are this establishments money maker. Hella good! That would be the only thing I would come back for.

Must get is their calamari! It comes with sweet and sour chili sauce and mayo! Batter calamari, can’t get any better! I also recommend their house special rolls! Seafood clear noodle soup is also delicious. A place for me to go when I have an hour lunch break :)

Don’t let the food pics fool you! do not… I epeat DONOT spend a penny here! get on Unilocal and search for another vietnamese restaurant in the area because this place is horrible! It was so bad, that me and my family walked out seeing red! and we were so upset, The entire mall must’ve heard us! We ended up going to House of Sisig in Daly City. SERVICE: Absolutely horrible. We had a party of 5 people, yet they wanted to seat us in a small table in the back that sat 4 people! Mind you, there was a few bigger tables available! And when we asked for the bigger table(we had kids with us), they threw us an attitude. I gave them the benefit of a doubt and kept my cool. we waited 20 minutes for a waiter to acknowledge us. We asked for 4 waters and a thai iced tea. We didn’t get our water for another 15 minutes and on top of that, my thai iced tea was watered down! I politely asked the waitress if she can make us another one and she told me that they didn’t have anymore left! Don’t they make a batch? And if they run out, they make another batch? About 40 minutes later… my brother’s phở is finally served. We kindly asked for a smaller bowl so my son could try some soup. did we get it? No… we asked for a bowl 3 more times and after the 3rd time, the waiter/waitress(short hair, glasses, wore a blue plaid flannel) rudely ignored us then walked up and snatched an empty plate from our table, the fork flew off the plate and almost hit my 4 year old son in the face! What was that about? I called for the host and told her what that waiter did and she started laughing like it was a joke. and that’s when all hell broke loose. #1 I had kids at the table and when the waiter snatched the plate the fork flew off the plate and almost hit my 4 year old son in the face. #2. There was hair in the soup #3 They serve watered down thai iced tea #4. The waiters are rude and almost injured my child! Just because this place is located in the mall does not mean that they are a quality restaurant. The food court is downstairs and at least they take pride in customer service. I hope this place doesn’t gain anymore business. As a matter of fact, they should go out of business! They don’t care about the safety of their customers, especially little ones! And when I brought that to their attention, all they did was smile like it was funny. No, my son could’ve been injured!

I rarely go to the Tanforan mall. It was quite a pleasant surprise dining here. We selected this place because it seemed to be the lesser of the typical mall food evils. The summer salad combo and a grilled pork bahn mi sandwich were satisfying. There was more than enough for 2 to share. Efficient and courteous wait staff service. Separate tables, a comfortable distance apart. It’s not a destination place. I’d go again after a movie if I were hungry.

This is clearly not a destination restaurant, but if you’re in the area then it seems like a good alternative to mall or chain food. I had the combination bun(vermicelli) with pork and egg rolls. As other reviewers have said, the egg rolls are excellent. I also thought there was a nice amount of mint leaves in the bun. Sriracha, hoisin, and other sauces are on the table, so you can season your meal to a good degree. Do beware that if you order any of the iced coffee or teas(Thai, Vietnamese, etc), you will get a cup of the hot beverage and a glass of ice. Nice if you don’t want too much sweetened condensed milk, but also a bit challenging. Not the best Vietnamese food that I have had(though really good egg rolls), but definitely good for a mall in San Bruno.

This is my favorite place to eat when I’m here at Tanforan. Much better than the good court options. The imperial rolls here are awesome! I definitely recommend trying them. I get them every time I’m here, whether as part of a combo or as an appetizer.

NOT a review for PHO but for BUN RiEU !!! I always crave my Grandma’s cooking & though this isn’t anywhere near hers … It’s pretty decent ! I’ve tried quite a few places & really like this one. Ask for pork blood cubes as well as the shrimp paste. Can’t have Bun Rieu without the shrimp paste ! I also love the fresh coconut juice, however you can buy your own at any Asian market(Manila or Pacific Super) for super cheap. They literally just chop the young coconut & stick a straw in it =D Their spring rolls are lacking however. 4STARS for fast & decent Bun Rieu though

Great food. I like it better than Mai’s although some may beg to differ. #42 all the way. Great food, drinks, but very small area. If you go be prepared to visit the general tanforan mall restrooms, because I’m not aware that this place has any. By far my favorite restaurant in the tanforan mall. Take out is fresh and ready in just minutes.

Came here for dinner prior to an event at Candlestick. It was good fast food. All the veggie dishes we ordered were a little too heavy on the tofu and light on the veggies so that was a bit of a bummer, but overall delicious. I’d come here again for a casual dinner or lunch. GOODFORVEGETARIANS!

ZEROSTARS. That was legitimately an inedible meal. It was foul. The noodles were so under cooked it was crunchy. The broth was so bland that it tasted like swill water. It was a truly foul experience. I couldn’t even make it past the first bite. Oh and the crab cake was mushy and raw. Disgusting. They wouldn’t refund my money, they didn’t offer anything to replace the meal with. No effort at customer service whatsoever and on top of everything they were freaking rude. I want to burn this place down.

The best part of coming to this restaurant is that it is quiet compared to the mall. The food court could be loud and chaotic at times and some times you just a nice place to settle and eat after you have done your shopping. My gf says its the worst phở shes ever had. The sandwiches can use a bit more pâté and flavor. The service however was very kind and responsive. The tomato crab cake noodle soup was not bad.

These are the most unique egg rolls I’ve ever tried, and in addition to the fake crab meat and the crispy shell, I think they put some miracle ingredient that keeps me going back for more. Seriously, if I’m in this mall with my co-workers, we usually go in for some egg rolls and some thai iced tea. But when I’m down for eating a real meal, I like their bbq chicken, pork, and beef rice plate. The 3 choice combo is my favorite since I can get my egg roll fix, beef, and chicken at the same time. I also like their chicken wings, and salads. I think we’ve tried 60% of their menu and their appetizers seem to be our favorite. Forget the food court downstairs, go here instead. On a side note I’m not too fond of their noodle soup, so my 4 star review is strictly for what I wrote above.

You should read my previous review of this place if you want a more detailed review. This is gonna be short and simple. Must try: — House Special spring rolls. — Shrimp egg rolls. — Papaya salad — Four Seasons(all 4 salads in one separately sectioned plate.) — BBQ chicken over rice with egg. I’ve had their bahn mis and they weren’t that great. Their phở doesn’t quite do me justice as well. Service: so-so. You will either be tended to or ignored. Pricing: a bit high, but it’s a mall, so yeah.

The pictures make it look nicer. We weren’t impressed. My phở had way too many noodles. The bean sprouts looked older. And they didn’t include jalapeños. Won’t be returning. I’m pulling a Bay arean and saying this phở sucked compared to the phở in Reno. Gots to say it. Parents had BBQ pork with noodles and the bun ho sandwich. Again they felt the BBQ pork was better in Reno. Friendly service I guess. Skip.

The dine in experience is pretty horrible. It’s hot, crowded and service isn’t too great. They’re pretty disorganized in terms of serving people, I managed to get my food way before other people who had gotten there before me. I did enjoy getting my food nice and hot though. I do think that $ 10 for eggroll and pork noodle dish was a bit much, but considering the convenience of the mall location, I can’t complain TOO much.

Havent been here for a long time. Its located inside the tanforan mall which is good in case i’m craving for vietnamese whenever i’m nearby. Came here during lunch time and it wasn’t busy. Had bun bo hue. had small bowl for 7.85, quite expensive for a small size bowl. I didn’t expect how small size bowl is. Its much much smaller than your average small bowl in most Vietnamese phở restaurant(its like 3 inch or more smaller at the place than the normal small at other vietnamese restaurant). But i was craving for this noodle soup. Bun bo hue is not bad. Not the usual the traditional kind of bun bo hue since its missing the pork blood and feet. The broth is flavorful. Decent among of meat and it seems like theres more noodles than the meat. Not spicy through.
