Denny’s

I’ve stopped here since my first memories. That big sign makes it obvious. I can’t say I come more often now that I live 150 miles closer, but I see it more often.
So what you see is what you get. This is the new Denny’s. Everything is worn out, the help is friendly but not like 20 – 30 years ago. The prices are higher as well, it isn’t as affordable as it was even 15 years ago, but that is a testament to flat wages, not a complaint about Denny’s.
The food! The menu has evolved over the years but it is largely the same. You know what you can get and the quality of consistent with other Denny’s. Like my hometown favorite, Carrow’s, breakfast is available all day.
I have a feeling this one is staying open until the lease is up. Or maybe they plan to remodel when the construction on the 5 is done. If they do stick around and remodel I’ll reevaluate and hopefully they will get to 5 stars.

We stopped at Denny’s for breakfast and I wasn’t expecting much, but the omelette with veggies was excellent! It was crowded, but they seated us fast. The waitress Lupe was very kind and had a beautiful smile. I will go back again The bacon was crispy and good too!

This was a take out order. We were staying at a hotel and I specified to the server who took our phone order that it would take us about 15 – 20 minutes to get there, so please don’t rush the order. I also asked for fruit to go with my husbands California Club, he didn’t receive any fruit or side order what so ever. He also didn’t receive the California club, he barely received a club. It was such a mess in the container that it wasn’t even enjoyable to eat, not to mention he was still hungry after because he didn’t get a side item as ordered. The girl who took my order said she couldn’t put in fruit as a side order in her register, but she could put in grapes or apples and he would still get fruit. He got the invisible kind apparently. Extreme zero calorie fruit. I ordered the Superbird with fries (I wanted the thick ones) and 2 sides of ranch and a side of $ 2.00 pancakes. I got a soggy sandwich, barely anything on it, I got seasoned fries that I didn’t want and was charged for from the looks of my receipt, there was no ranch anywhere to be found and I also was missing my pancakes. When I called the restaurant back to tell them that my order was messed up, after my husband and ran to the hotel and came all the way back with the food, I was put on hold and then disconnected. I tried calling back again and the same thing happened. You charged me $ 25.46 for a bunch of crap that we could barely stand to eat. Food that was cold by the time we got it. Food that was missing. And seasoned fries that I didn’t even want. That alone shows a extra .69 cents on the rec. I would have to say that you severely dropped the ball on this one. We were there on a mini staycation on a limited budget, and Denny’s…you really did not make this meal enjoyable at all. Serious disappointment.

Terrible experience. I always come here and have been giving servers huge tips. Some servers are okay some are not. Today, my server was not only inattentive, he was also ungrateful and did not bother to say thank you when I gave him his tip. Not only that but when I ordered my food, he forgot to ask me what my sides were and he told me he thought I wanted the appetizer and flipped the pages on my menu to show me the appetizer page. Like really? Do I look like I only want the appetizer? On top of that, my page was NOT on the appetizer page, so it is only common sense that there is no way I would want just an appetizer.

Can’t expect much from dennys. All locations are about the same excluding the service. Service was average.

i was early to work this day and i decided to have some breakfast which i rarely do, so i went in to dennys off of the 5 hwy and pico the waiter i got was very kind and didn’t forget about any of the tables he was serving even tho it was early any ways nice people that enjoy their work in this dennys. ill be back for a early bite. his name is erik with a k it was on the ticket.

The food took more than 45 minutes and it still hasn’t arrived. waitress was unpleasant. I got really depressed waiting for my food so I left after paying for my coffee.

The 5 stars is more for Allie then it is for Dennys it’s self. Although, I must say they cooked their over easy eggs to perfection! And, I have always had a great experience here. Plus, the people watching is fab.
So, tonight — I came solo. I needed to clear my head. Have a hot cup of coffee, like a full one with no interruption from work/​school. It was nice.
Allie was my server and so on top of it. Very endearing, quite lovely actually. When the restaurant was empty she came over and talked to me. We had a wonderful conversation. It was short and sweet, but just what I needed. People underestimate the intuitive nature of «servers. «She just Knew.
For the food. Come on people it’s Denny’s — they’ve got it down to a science.

These servers in the a.m. just hang around and chat it up!!! They don’t care there are customers waiting to be served. …what’s worse, when they finally take your order. …they take for ever to serve you! !! There are only 2 customers in the diner! !
Not good service at all

I am a huge fan of Denny’s and a regular customer. Ci’ve eaten at many all over the U.S. They’ve always been able to accommodate my order and make substitutions without hassle. For the first time today, this Denny’s would not substitute my pancakes for an extra order of hashbrowns on the Lumberjack Slam… I couldn’t believe it. On top of that my food was served on a dirty plate and I had to request a clean one. Awful! I typically don’t complain and am easy going but this was unacceptable!

Food was very Denny’s. It was the cleanliness and service that was an issue. Asked for water that was never received. The table was sticky. Only 2 place settings were given for 4 people. Had to beg for additional silverware. The syrup bottle was covered with syrup on the outside so my hands came away sticky. If someone from Denny’s corporate office ever came by, they would be appalled.

I get it, it’s Denny’s, it’s no 5 star experience, but honestly, you’re better off going to Ihop! Disorganized, bad service. We were seated quickly, but all we ever received was our appetizers. We tried to be patient since we were thinking maybe they had just dealt with an influx of customers who came in from the tree lighting at the outlets. My fiancé had ordered a burger and I had gotten a cobb salad, 30 minutes turned into 40, to 50, to an hour. Our daughter was falling fast asleep in her high chair, and we finally got so frustrated we walked up to the cashier to explain we were just going to leave since we had lost our waiter about 45 minutes ago, and little one was falling asleep. Right as this happens they finally realize our food was sitting on the window waiting to go out. They offered to box it up to go for us, and normally we would’ve just said no thanks, but we were all starving so we took the food and left. They also still charged us full price for the drinks and refills, plus the appetizers. I’m not one to sit there and pick at a place for running a bit behind, and demand an immediate discount or freebie, but completely forgetting about our table and the disappearing waiter, plus the lack of apology or ability to speak to a manger was frustrating. We’ve vowed never to go back to this location again, unless it was the last place to get a meal on earth.

I have to say that maricruz who helped me at Denny’s inspired this review although staff at other times have been rude and unhelpful, she was a 10. I would have given a 2 star review if it wasn’t for her. My hope is that this positive review will inspire the staff and management Denny’s to take a look at an example of what a good employee really is. It is very important to understand that this review was going to be a two star review it as The majority of the time that I visited Denny’s it has been dirty smelly and multiple people inside the restaurant were complaining about the lack of good service.
Please note the time and date of this review, 5:30 AM on August 12 2015 — the staff working at this time and just prior to this time kept the place clean and nice and were very helpful and attentive. Staff at other times I have been like I said before rude and have not taken good care of the place

When youre hungry and on the road working, it works in a pinch for a quick bite. I dont get all the bad reviews here. The staff was nice and the quality of food is what youd expect from this joint. I thought my waiter was really nice, but thought cashier was a little weak in her approach to try to «see how I was doing» and then attempt to upsell me some dessert. LOL

This location is great! Hey, it’s Denney’s right? Don’t expect much more than 24hr breakfast and consistent food quality, right? The service is great from hostess (Chay) to server (Eric) absolutely awesome. Very busy Sunday morning, so there was a little wait, but the genuine smiles and helpful attitudes made the wait painless. Food was fresh and tasty; great and convenient spot for a meal.

Pleasantly surprised! I haven’t been to a Denny’s in years! Food quality was very fresh and flavorful. The prices aren’t bad either. They have the $ 2 $ 4 $ 6 $ 8 menu with some great choices.

This is OK for breakfast it’s close to 5 freeway it’s good for quick stop service is OK not that great the food it’s OK too they have lots of parking space and close to chevron gas station.

The best Denny’s experience we have had in a long time! Great food, friendly and fast service, and very clean interior/​exterior.
If we lived closer, this would more than likely be a regular dining spot for us

I like Denny’s. Some weeks we eat at Denny’s 2 or 3 times. Until we moved to south county, that is, and found ourselves at this franchise.
Servers are overworked and therefore slow and inaccurate. They got my order wrong and burnt my companion’s steak, which arrived well after my order. By the time they replaced it, I had long finished.
Waited for every drink refill.
Take my advice: keep driving.

Denny’s is always just Denny’s. Basic, ordinary, old Denny’s. Shame cause I used to love breakfast there but you can’t expect anything special from a chain food place I guess.
Come on Denny’s, put the love back in and make me a good breakfast.
