Humphry’s San Clemente

Always delicious. Never disappoints. Their breakfast is delicious for under $ 5. The Cobb salad is great portion size and super fresh for under $ 10. Veggie sandwich is piled super high and so delicious! Everyone is always friendly and they make everything fresh. I’ve never had something I didn’t like here. I’ll continue to grab a bite here!

Wow! Stumbled upon this place and it became pleasant surprise! Delicious breakfast burrito and great menu and beer selection. I will be back.

Holy moly. This place. I had the Ginger Spinach wrap. Probably the best wrap I’ve ever had. Great vibe and friendly staff. But seriously, that wrap.

The garden burger was great! It had a lot of flavor and the portion size was good. I think if I had ordered it with avocado it could have tasted even better.

This is a great Blt grilled cheese and sandwiches place. And the cheese melts in your mouth this is a five star place.

I went here for lunch today and picked it up. Pastrami sandwich is good, but I would say nothing incredible. The grilled cheese is very good, grilled sort of crispy which is how I prefer it. Overall, this place has good sandwiches, pretty clean, friendly service, fast service. Good place to stop and eat a quick lunch, but in my opinion, I think it’s nothing special.

My tuna melt was a delight. Make sure to check out the daily specials, they are fantastic every time. Big TVs, and great beer on tap and the staff is friendly.

The Rachel is great!
So first time visiting Humphreys Sandwiches and I was pleasantly surprised.
LOCATION & AMBIANCE (Rating 4.25) I really liked the layout and feel of Humphrey’s. It’s well done with plenty of indoor seating and a nice patio to sit outside on as well. It’s tucked away in a strip mall center across from a grocery store so it’s easy to miss, but great to visit. The interior gave me the distinct impression of a bar. It had kegs on the ground to outline the order line, taps and high booths on the wall. Is it bad that that’s comforting?
SERVICE (Rating 3.75) While there really isn’t much service needed, it was my first time in and my first impression wasn’t happy faces and «How can I help you». I did ask about the most popular entrees and was steered to «The Rachel» which was a good choice so I’m happy about that. A little more personality and spunk would have raised this rating easily.
THE RACHEL (Rating 4.5) I went in with the intention of ordering something relatively healthy. That’s as far as I got with that idea. Once «The Rachel» was recommended and I read about her it was all over. It’s Hot Pastrami, Swiss Cheese, Coleslaw & Thousand Island dressing served on a grilled sour dough bread. The coleslaw is «old school» (heavy on the mayonnaise) and tastes great. The bread is of outstanding quality and grilled to perfection. It actually didn’t get soggy even with the coleslaw surprisingly. The pastrami is also of great quality and taste (although I would have liked a little more on the sandwich). It comes with a big juicy dill pickle and chips so don’t be tempted to buy extra chips.
I’m paying the price tonight for eating that thing, but I know I’ll be back.

Club sandwich is the real MVP. After tasting Humphrey’s Club I won’t order a club sandwich anywhere else. The meats and cheese are sliced fresh daily and everything used here is super fresh. Don’t forget to order a fresh baked cookie… those suckers are fantastic. Breakfast burritos are on point as well.

Don’t waist your money on the kids grill cheese meal; my 5 year old could of made it better. Looks like I’m sticking to Panera Bread!

I’m gonna do a quick review of this place.
Pros
— good service
— food is made to order
— open kitchen; so you can see the workers making your food
— The Rachel was small in appearance but packed with flavor and filling. one of the best hot pastrami sandwiches I had in a while
— lot’s of parking
— plenty of seating with tv’s to watch the game
Cons
— men’s room wasn’t stocked, despite the number of workers there
— open kitchen; I saw a worker used his finger to swipe clean the sauce dispenser which will be used for future orders
— the chips that came with The Rachel were stale. Tasted and felt like they were sitting there for a while
— near an high school; traffic may get troublesome coming or leaving
I like these place but with stale chips, under stock men’s room, and the workers finger in the sauce rubbed me the wrong way a bit. The food here is tasty at decent prices, interior is on the small side but can hold a decent amount of people, and the variety warrants a second visit if I’m in the area. 3 stars since I feel the pros and cons balance it out.

I am thrilled to give Humphry’s the best rating possible. Tim, the owner, leads the staff with tremendous care and attention to customer satisfaction. I have been a consistent customer for the last two years, and I am always impressed with the freshness of the food backed by the classy service and smiles of all the employees. The atmosphere is inviting and friendly, and the menu items are of the highest quality. My weekly must have is the cobb salad with bleu cheese — I can’t get enough. I have even had them cater two separate events for my work presentations, and they have delivered quality every time. Keep up the great work, Humphry’s!

Had a great lunch here! Sandwich was super toasty and chips had just the right crunch for a satisfying meal. I had the «Rachel» and am getting hungry for another just thinking about it as I write. A great place with a laid back atmosphere that you’d expect from a beach town. Will definitely be back again.

My boyfriend and I were stoked on this place. We grabbed our things to go and they didn’t disappoint. Here on Unilocal I saw the Rivi sandwich and knew that was what I wanted – I didn’t see it on the board, but the young lady working the cash register said they still had it. Boyfriend got a breakfast burrito and was generally thrilled that it was an option, so kudos for the diversity.
Friendly service, portions were generous and thus worth the cost. Good stuff! Not my kind of crowd (I like beer & sandwiches, but not sports), but a spot I can see myself grabbing things to-​go from in the future.

This is a GREAT place to eat at! My sandwich was so delicious! If you eat here be sure your stomach is empty because it’s a lot of sandwich. Servers are nice and tables are clean. The bathrooms are clean as well which is a plus! I would definitely recommend this place! The only thing I regret is not having rye bread on my sandwich!

Now this is a place for sandwiches. I had a wrap, ¹⁰⁄₁₀ and the other people I was with were digging their sandwiches too. I shall return, with an empty stomach.

My husband loves Humphry’s. I on the other hand, didn’t have as great of an experience here.
After I had ordered our sandwiches, I felt as though I was sitting there waiting for half an hour for two cold sandwiches. And the sandwich I ordered seemed a bit on the saltier side and the bacon was so hard it hurt my teeth. My husband ordered the same thing, yet he didn’t happen to have the same problem as I did.
Maybe one day I’ll give it another go, if I’m really craving a sandwich and am too lazy to make it myself, but for now, I’ll stick to making my own.

They forgot my chips on a few occasions, but other than that they are descent and convenient as you can order online and pay. The prime rib sandwich that is the Monday special is pretty good (grilled mushrooms + onions and cheese).

This place is absolutely delicious. I was here last year and have been dying to come back since and they did not disappoint! I even got an extra sandwich to go. Thus place is a good 25 mins from where I live but worth the drive.

First time visitor today. First thing that struck me is not 1 of the 7 people working behind the counter were smiling. The young lady behind the register gave me the impression that she didn’t want to be there.
On to the food. I ordered a Italian sub which came with chips and a pickle spear. All in all pretty tasty, but there was so much meat and cheese in the sandwich that it made it impossible to eat neatly. The bread and all the sandwich contained was fresh.
I’d go back. Note to owner: Your place would be so more inviting if you got your people to smile more.
