Not great. Flavor was mehh. They charge for each ingredient in the poke bowl… No extras it’s $ 9 for fish and rice add the goodies and now your«white» rice bowl is $ 14. Sauce tasted like spicy ketchup. Get with times and make a tasty healthy bowl including the ingredients that make it poke.

Love this place! We had the salmon poke and the Ton Kotsu ramen. Both were great. Will definitely be back. Plus prices are affordable

A very cute little spot we discovered, Unilocaling hongry ofcourse. Glad we made it in. It is definitely super cozy with five chairs at the most at the sushi bar and may be ten people max for table seating. So yes. It’s definitely a come in, grub, and gtfo type of place. But hearing the«irashimasen» felt comforting as soon as we walked in on a Sunday evening. I was so happy. Nihonjins running a Japanese restaurant! In San Clemente? Get out! Woo hoo!!! I wanted to try everything on the menu. But we wanted something super light for dinner since we had a late and big lunch at Nicks down the street. Our waitress was super sweet, polite, and courteous. Definitely Nihonjin. She gave us enough time to look over the menu until we decided to order– All salmon poke plate with our choice of toppings-good size chunks of salmon, with spicy mayo, topped with cucumbers, sesame seeds, Masago — served on a bed of half white rice and green salad. Absolutely delicious and salmon was fresh and rice was warm. I told them not to include the macaroni salad that came with it. Salmon skin handrolls were a great choice as well. Crispy salmon skin and rice was warm on my palate. Yummy! Steamed pork dumplings was ok. Similar to the ones I buy at Nijiya. Side order of shrimp and vegetable tempura. Very crispy and light. Perfect with their tempura sauce even though traditionally there should be some grated daikon in the sauce. We ordered just enough to satisfy our tummies without feeling bloated. So don’t expect fine dining. It’s super duper casual as in you can probably come in wearing your bathing suit and they ll still sit you down! I’m serious. Their hospitality was superb! The tables were customed made surfboards. You ll definitely feel the beach vibe in here. Guaranteed! So glad to discover this place. I can’t wait to go back to try everything else! #thankful #always #for #new#places#to#grub#cNc

Good and fresh sushi, ramen is pretty decent time. Not a lot of room in the restaurant, I would definitely recommend checking out the happy hour. I will be back.

Amazing food and atmosphere at a good price. The tuna tataki was fresh and flavorful. The staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions. Look forward to coming back next time we are in town to try the poke bowls! Check in on Unilocal and get 20% off your bill!

Stopped by for lunch here when I was on vacation in San Clemente California. We got a little of everything to try out the place. They had happy hour deals and good price on sake. The red snapper sashimi is a must try and all the fish is fresh and full of flavor. We sat at the bar and the waiters told us what’s their to do around San clement which was nice. The place may be small but very cozy and surf vibe atmosphere. The owners and sushi chefs are very nice and experienced. The is sushi heaven when your in San Clemente highly recommend and will be back when I’m in the area. Thank you guys for such a lovely experience and wonderful memories.

Super tiny place with a cozy, surfer vibe. We’re been here a few times and their happy hour deals are really great. This time, I got the ahi poke bowl with avocado and wasabi soy sauce with a spicy tuna roll. Amazing! My husband got the teriyaki chicken meal and we split the pork steamed dumplings. Everyone from locals to military come to this place; definitely worth the trip!

One of my favorite locations in town for poke, sushi, and good times! I go here quite often and it is very nice to be welcomed by name by Seiji(Sage) the owner and our favorite waitress Tomo! The happy hour specials are unbeatable in pricing and taste, and it it always good with an ice cold Sapporo! If it’s not happy hour, go ahead and grab one of the Poke Bowls and the many variations will keep you coming back for more! I always enjoy ending the night with one of their new and unique specials, the Poke Taco has been one of my absolute favorites! It is very nice to have such a great location so close to home, I will continue to frequent this amazing business for years to come! Thanks for everything Seiji!

There are certain things that sushi(snobs) may wince at like super chilled soy sauce and cold nigiri and rice… However, I popped into 808 with hopes for a quick and tasty sushi lunch, and not a super authentic omakase, so that is exactly what I got. The 808 handroll was actually very tasty and I wish I had ordered a few more. This is a quaint and cute little 12 seater restaurant in the downtown area. You get in and out and you will be satisfied.

I have been to the Poke+Roll 808 many times and have tried most of what is on the menu and everything they have to offer is amazing. The staff is super friendly and remember you each time you come.

I went with the server’s recommendations and my poke bowl on a scale of one to ten was a ten. Solid. Ten. Zero exceptions. I love Wow Bento in Irvine but for South County, this will definitely be my go-to. I cannot wait to go back.

The food at Poke + Roll is good. Service is an experience. But the girls are really sweet. The sushi tastes really great. I like to come here especially since the one sushi place down the street closed and 9 style is weird. THe tables are made of skim boards. The restaurant is small but you can eat inside or outside. It’s on the main drag of Del Mar. Free street or lot parking everywhere.

They have great deals on their custom poke salad rolls, our group ordered at the same time and once everyone has their food I had to remind them of my order so I could final eat after my group had finished! It’s a nice hole in the wall place that needs just a little more attention to its customers

So delicious! Came here with a couple friends after laying on the beach all day. Pole bowls were absolutely fantastic and had many customizable options to choose from! I have been meaning to come back now for awhile, can’t wait to enjoy another amazing bowl!

Neat little bungalow of a sushi restaurant located on the main drag of downtown San Clemente. Seats only a few but has an open area so you can sit on the sidewalk and enjoy the ocean breeze. Or, sit at the sushi bar and watch them create some delicious sushi rolls. Stopped by for only a quick bite and ordered the happy hour special Fancy Hands? Or was it Delicious Hands? Something to that effect — and they were good. My dining companion ordered a salad — and you can choose your protein, sauce and veggies. It looked delicious.

Ok… Bummed that there is a new owner who has no idea how to make the rolls the old owners made. The sushi was good, the rolls were«eh» and the service was great. Work out the kinks and this place will be as good as it used to be– until then, it’s around the corner to 9 Style. We’ll try you again though

This place clearly don’t know what is chicken teriyaki is or it’s just a rip off. As u see on the pic $ 8.00 bucks for chicken hearts and throw away stuff way too much. Del mar is full of good places abs this is not one of that. Do your self a favor and walk around and u will find much much better food just few steps away

I came here because it was one of the few sushi places open at the late hour I was in town. Omigosh was I pleasantly surprised that this tiny little place had such fresh and delicious sashimi!!! Not only that but the staff and the chefs were so incredibly friendly and nice! Even though they were about to close(in about 40 minutes or so) there were still gracious and patient and we didn’t feel hurried at all to eat. Although I did eat quickly since it was all so good. If I’m ever in the area again, I’ll definitely come back!

Love this tiny sushi spot! It’s on the main drag in downtown SC — Avenida Del Mar, nestled in amongst other small restaurants and funky shops. The folks who run 808 are super friendly and happy to recommend delectable items for you to try. We began our dining experience here with an order of the garlic edamame. They were very tasty, I love their seasoning — it’s a lovely garlicky flavor. Next we enjoyed one of their primo poke sushi rolls — the roll itself was the«crab» and set down and smothered with delicious poke. We had the ahi and it was top notch. Then we had a crunchy roll. I am a crunch roll connoisseur and these were fairly decent, the only downside was the crunchies were a little stale otherwise good. I was convinced I was done until… we saw the specials. Sexy Hand Roll it is!!! And wow, not only was it sexy but tasty too. Imagine: spicy tuna, crab mix, salmon, corn flakes(yes, corn flakes!), and cilantro wrapped in soy paper. Absolutely delicious conglomeration of flavor, wish I’d ordered it first actually. I highly recommend this little establishment because as we discovered, good things still can come in small packages. Oh and don’t forget to check in! They offer a 20% discount on your check and the proprietress was sweet enough to give us a business card for an additional 20% off our next visit!

My fiancé and I came here for the first time last night and can’t believe we didn’t come sooner. Easily the best sushi joint in San Clemente. You need to try the red snapper sashimi. It was pure slices of heaven. The pork shumai was also really yummy, as was the crunchy shrimp tempura roll. We can’t wait to go back!

I’ve been here many times and each time my poke and sushi cravings are satisfied! I’ve been to a lot poke places and this one is definitely on my top list. I absolutely love the idea of picking your fish, sauce, an toppings. Your poke bowls are your own creations! The fish is always fresh and soft. Perfect rice, I only get my poke with rice and nothing else. One of the best sushi places I’ve been to in OC. I’ve wined and dined at high-end sushi restaurants and I still love 808. Delicious miso soup as well! The service is always top notch and friendly. Actually debating on moving to San Clemente just to be closer to 808! I’ll be back to satisfy my sushi cravings :)
