Great little store. All the employees are very friendly. I probably would give this store 5 stars, but purchased a bag of potatoes, along with other groceries, and noticed a few of them were infected with an insect. Overall, the food here is great! I been shopping here for many years, and will continue. Vanessa T., was the cashier on duty a few times I been here. She has stood out in particular, as she is very professional, friendly, and can multi-task very well. She appears to have very good work ethics also. They hire great employees!

I drive out of my way to this Ralph’s because of the salad bar. My pet peeve lately is that the deli staff does not stock the salad bar until after noon on some days! I used to like to pick up a fresh salad on the way to work, not possible at this Ralph’s. So I adjusted my schedule to start going during the busy lunch rush — but surprise! Still not stocked! I have asked the counter staff about this, and they are nonchalant, like it’s an imposition to ask them when it would be ready… or if stocked, when they planto put out spoons and serving utensils. They seem to have an issue is keeping the containers in stock as well. after multiple attempts I’ve given up completely on this location. I’ll stick to the one in Talega

This review is for the quality of produce and the top notch customer service from Tony Chavez. I will gladly come back to this location over the one on ECR.

Won’t be shopping here again, thanks to the«security shopping carts.» Took a cart into the store to get a few things, they didn’t have the first thing on my list, so I decided to leave. I had to go to another store anyway. I took the cart up to the front to put it back where it belonged. As I reached the front of the store,. a very loud and annoying alarm went off. Two employees walked rather briskly toward my sister and I. We are old ladies and we have never been in any trouble, so this was awful! While the alarm continued to ring, one of the clerks said that it was«the cart.» The wheels were locked up and I couldn’t even move it out of the way. Everyone was staring at us like we were criminals. Evidently, if you have a cart and you do not take it through a check stand, this is what happens. There is a brain in the shopping cart and a brain in the check stand(not necessarily the clerk, either!). When I contacted Dean, the manager, he informed me that this is necessary to keep track of the carts, and to monitor shoppers who try to take things without paying for them. The store is located in an area where there are a lot of «mature» people, such as my sister and myself. I personally don’t think this kind of technology is necessary in our area. However, now I know why Ralphs prices are so high.

This review is for the front end guy named Dean. What a horrible person. First off, I stopped shopping at the Talega Ralph’s because of this arrogant, jerk. And now he’s back at this store! Harsh language? No, not when someone treats my wife they way he did. My wife and I spent about $ 300 a month in the Talega pharmacy and another $ 800‑1000 a month in groceries. When the pharmacy messed up on something, the mgr. on duty told my wife she was very sorry, come in and we’ll give you a Ralph’s gift certificate for $ 20. When my wife got in there, cart full of groceries, she walked up and asked for the woman she had been on the phone with. She was informed by «Dean» that he was the manager in charge now. And, he had decided that«I’m not going to do anything about your problem. I don’t agree we made a mistake» My wife said«Well, you weren’t even involved and the other manager offered me a $ 20 gift card and told me to come right over » «Well, I’m not» said Dean. My wife said, «I shop here 3x a week, I am a great customer.» He said, «Well, that’s too bad» She said«Are you willing to watch me walk out of the store and take $ 1300 a month in business with me over $ 20?.. I have a full cart here?» Dean stared her down and said, «Yes.» We switched stores to the Camino de Los Mares store, things were fine… and now he’s here! When I heard him in there, in his condescending way he talks to the women, I almost threw up. Now, I guess we’re going to Albertsons. It’s too bad because the rest of the employees are friendly and pretty helpful. I can’t stand to look at the guy and can’t stand to hear him and his BS, condescending attitude. Not good for business Ralphs.

Clean and organized grocery store. It’s a pretty big store and it seems to have every basic thing you would need to live. We get our rib eye and seafood here. It’s so clean that there is no fishy smell. On some weekends, they have samples like they have in Costco. Most of the time, workers are nice and friendly. Occasionally, there are some workers who are rude to seniors. I overheard a cashier talk down to a senior who had trouble finding his money/card and was taking his time. Some people need to be a little bit more sensitive but most especially if they work in the service industry. The same cashier didn’t even bother to greet me or look me in the eye. She could have been having a bad day(but it was only 10 am!) but work is work. Don’t spread your crappy mood to other people. This place is better than many other locations when it comes to size, brands, and cleanliness. However, customer service needs a little boost. That or replace them with self check out.

The deli here has their own«insiders» community going. The staff waits on their friends before you, regardless of who got there first. I have experienced this many, many times. Looks like no one is Managing, or no one is Managing the Manager. I have complained to no avail.

As the saying goes, «to err is human». Yes the bakery did make a mistake and forgot to have my cake ready for my wife’s 50th birthday. But dang if they didn’t more than make up for it by not only jumping on it and making a new one in a moment’s notice, but actually DELIVERED it to my party on time and after an hour of looking for the place! Amazing! They saved the day — and deserve all five stars!

Good store, well organized. The prices on produce did seem a little high. 79 cents for a single lime was steep. And everyone has to buy limes, how else would you make a gin and tonic?

The produce selection is great, and expansive. As well as the beer/wine/liquor section, which has lots of little names and variety. The meat section gets picked over pretty quickly on the weekend but the meat department employees are always popping out from behind the counter to help you pick out something, and give recipe suggestions. There are a lot of hidden gems in the different departments, like religious candles in the«Mexican» section or gnocchi in the«Italian». And the cashiers are helpful and friendly. One cashier stopped ringing to brought me a case of bottled water, even though she had a long line of customers behind me, because I had back problems and couldn’t lift anything heavy. I will always come back to this store.

The bakery is what I’m rating on. Sue in the bakery has been there for me for 4 years strong, she makes all my cakes, even my wedding cake. She is awesome! Very creative and very nice! Please give her a raise or at least a pat on the back, Thanks Sue! We will see you soon!

OK– the fourth star is a stretch. But fellow San Clementian’s who. like me are appalled at the prices, bafflingly limited selections and the just generally shitty experiences that await us at any of the Albertsons and Stater’s, may understand. The produce section is surprisingly well-stocked and far better organic section than anyone else around and always has a few interesting items that make it into my basket. They also do a nice job of catering to the lunchables and juicebox crowd while still managing to carry truffle oil, chutneys and other goodies that usually require a trip to Bristol. The seafood/meat section is admittedly subpar, like every other seafood/meat section in SoCal save Bristol & Whole Foods. Trader Joes is right across the parking lot for my outstanding hippie cereal, soy milk and wine needs. These two pair very nicely for my weekly shops until the day SC finally claims its own Whole Foods. Addendum!!! About a month after I wrote this, I idiotically left my purse in one of the carts and drove away, only realizing this when I had completely unpacked all my groceries an hour later. After a panicked drive back to the store, I found my purse tucked safely away in the store safe. Like these guys…
