Five I just had my birthday dinner there and the food and service was amazing. I have dined here before but never for a gathering(20 guests) I had more guest than I had seats for but the hostess Clairesse was kind and brought additional seating. I just want to thank the whole staff for a perfect evening.

Man oh man, what to say about this place! Super cute little romantic Italian restaurant in Northpark, right around the corner from Modern Times so you can easily walk over there for drinks after dinner. Came here on a Sunday night for dinner, unfortunately on street parking but fairly easy to find a little down the street. It’s a small restaurant so I’d suggest making reservations if you have a bigger party or on a busier night, but Sunday night was fine for a table for 2. They have this amazing sesame seed bread that is absolutely to die for, and I normally don’t even like sesame seeds. Here’s the kicker though… you have the olive oil and vinegar on the table… yep. right there on the table for you to serve yourself!!! This place is getting crazy! :) Anyways, for app– we shared the spicy caesar salad– gotta try it! got a slight kick to it but still delicious! The fiancée ordered the pink penne pasta– super yummy! I ordered the dinner special shrimp and scallop linguini– sooooo bombdotcom! It is $ 26 though… but dayum still thinking about it to this day! :) The portions of food are good, definitely gets you filled. Definitely give this place a try, dare I say it, I think I found my favorite date night restaurant in Northpark. :)

Highly disappointing and one of the most painful dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. I had high expectations for this place since everyone I know who’s been here likes it. Looks great from the outside, but once you step inside it’s a poorly laid out floor plan and design with too much fluff taking up too much space and the acoustics are beyond loud and annoying. Make a reservation for 5. Wait for 10+ minutes while the host just took call after call. He seats us in this tall euro-trashy 3 walled cocoon booth that’s really a table meant for 4, but crams 5 people on the 3 sides because there’s no room on the other side. I can’t even sit straight ahead, having no room for a plate while I hear some drunk girls in the back making way too much noise for this kind of place. This place was beyond loud and nerve racking. Nothing on the menu appealed to me and the beer selection was far below par. The few things that somewhat looked appealing I didn’t have enough room to eat them because the table was way too small. Didn’t seem to phase the staff one second. I just ordered a dinner salad to be social and try to keep my emotions and patience in order. Everyone at my table couldn’t believe the noise level from the table in the back. This place is total amateur hour and I have no idea why people come back to this place. I wanted to get up and walk across the street and eat Jack in the Box on the curb over this experience, and I avoid fast food at all costs. Blows my mind how anyone would come back here with Piacere Mio and Buona Forchetta down the street.

A group of my friends and I made reservations here on a Monday night and the place was amazing. Our server Tim was probably one of the friendliest servers I have ever had. He dealt with our group if 4 rambunctious woman really well. We selected Alexander’s as a nice restaurant where we could meet and celebrate the holidays together and it was one of the greatest times we’ve had. The staff were extremely nice, helpful, and welcoming. And the food was amazing! We all four got a different dish and each one was delicious. I have to say that this is now one of my favorite restaurants around.

I have heard wonderful things about this place and was stoked to hear my work was having our work party here! We sat outside on the back patio. The set up was beautiful and the ambiance was really nice. We had a set menu, so I unfortunately do not remember everything that I ate, but what I DO know is I WILL be back here rather soon. I didn’t have a chance to try the pizza, but it looked amazing, so that will be what I order next!

A friend of mine recommended this upscale eatery to me years ago, but I was never tempted to go until recently. We dined here over the weekend for our 41st monthaversary, since the photos of the all-white décor in the dining room are so pretty and my boyfriend felt like having Italian food. We actually had a table in their outdoor patio, which was nicely set up. Luckily, there were heat lamps near to where we were sitting because it was very chilly! They were also playing Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer on a projector, which we were able to watch while having our dinner. Our server took our drink order while we browsed through the menu… We decided to get a bottle of Moscato and ordered the mussels and burrata salad to start with. Everything was so good so far… They even split our salad for us and gave us complimentary garlic bread. We were offered more bread, so we soaked it with the white wine sauce from the mussels. For our entrees, he opted for the chicken florentine and I had the lobster ravioli. Both dishes were pretty good, but we liked the ravioli a little more. Dessert was an easy choice! We shared the gianduia cake with a cup of cappucino to end the night. I forgot to ask, but I’m pretty sure they got the cake from Extraordinary Desserts because it looked and tasted exactly the same as when I get it from there… Service was great! Our table was a wobbly, so they fixed it right away. Everyone was also very friendly and there wasn’t a long wait to get our food. This place was an excellent choice for our romantic night out!

This review is for a company party and not for sit in dining. Although, after our experience with a company party, I’ll definitely be stopping by for a sit in experience. We rented out that back patio and had a tent to up because it was expected to rain(and it did). One of my coworkers is vegan and looking at the menu, there are no vegan options. The restaurant was nice enough to not only make her a vegan pizza(one of the many shared pizzas our company had as appetizers), but they also made her an entire vegan, pasta dish for dinner. She said the dish was pretty good. The waiters who waited on our party were very attentive, nice, and efficient. I don’t know specific names of all the dishes, but the dish with the pasta and the chicken was one of my favorites. We also had a caesar salad, vegetarian lasagna, regular lasagna, mixed veggies, potatoes, and a few other things. Everything was pretty good and there was tons of food. Can’t wait to come back and try out their normal menu!

Ambience: 5⁄5 It’s a great date spot with the all white interior and cool outside area that projects random movies against the wall. If you want it a little more romantic go for the inside, but I sat outside and it was also very nice Food: Prosciutto Bruschetta — huge slices of buratta Cheese which I normally don’t care for, but this was good. They salted it perfectly so it complimented the taste and texture of the cheese. Needed more prosciutto but worth getting to try. Chicken Florentine — Best I’ve ever had. The chicken was cooked perfectly, not too cooked which most people screw up. I normally don’t order chicken but I’m glad I did for this.; It was creamy and the pesto sauce was great. It’s a big serving so that’s good for an eater like me. Tuscan Seafood Pasta — it came with PLENTY of seafood which made the dish great. All of the seafood was cooked perfectly(scallops, shrimp, mussels etc…) and it was not overly salted so you could taste it. Usually everyone screws up at least the shrimp but everything was perfect. The thing that really made the dishes was that it came out piping hot! I think that made everything. I will come back again to try the lasagna and pizza and see if it lives up to expectations.

What a gem! We met up with some friends there who had family in town for a lovely meal, and were lucky to get a spot on the outdoor patio. As soon as I saw old movie’s playing on the projector I knew this was a place I’d settle in and call home any day. The atmosphere gets automatic stars just because it’s so romantic. Indoors, you’ll find all white décor and warm golden lighting, also great to woo someone in — but I recomend the Al Fresco option if you can get it! The food was great, here’s a list of all the things we ordered: Bread basket Prosciutto, Buratta Cheese, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Sea Salt Local Roasted Beet and goat cheese salad Carlsbad Black Mussels, White Wine, Pancetta, Fresh Garlic & Tomato CANNELLONI: Thin Pasta Rolled with Fresh Roasted Beef, Cheese & Spinach WALNUTGORGONZOLA: Fresh Linguine, Garlic, Onions, Caramelized Walnuts, Gorgonzola Cream with Mixed Veggies BAKEDVODKABOLOGNESE Rigatoni, Spicy Italian Sausage, Mushrooms in a Spicy Roma Vodka Sauce All delicious, I very much recommend the Buratta, the mussels and the vodka sauce dish. The service was sufficient, but not above par/impeccable as I know they strive to be. Our food came out timed incorrectly with a few table mates having to wait a bit or getting dishes too early — we had to ask for the basics(extra silverware, side plates, water refills etc) If it had been on point, a five star dinner it would have been indeed! I can’t wait to go again sometime and maybe switch it up and sit indoors — so many things on the menu I still want to try and was also tooooo full for dessert this time. Tragic as the menu looked delicious.

I’ve been running by Alexander’s for months now, and it looks amazing inside. We decided to walk in when they opened on a Wednesday evening. We were the only ones in the restaurant for at least an hour. This led to a very intimate experience. The ambience if romantic and perfect for a low key date night. The food was amazing! I ordered the Tuscan seafood pasta. Other restaurants skimp on the seafood but not Alexander. I believe there was more seafood than pasta! And the squid ink pasta… perfection. The service was a little inattentive, but being the only patrons in the restaurant, it wouldn’t have been that hard to get service if we needed it. He probably didn’t want to seem pushy and I get that. The server was really nice, though, and provided my husband with a complimentary birthday dessert! The ice cream tasted homemade. It was a perfect meal. Alexander’s will definitely be a regular date spot for us. Note: Parking was available behind the building, but we didn’t need to use it. There was parking right across the street.

Celebrated a friend’s 30th birthday tonight. It was nice with all the white, grey walls, and even felt romantic with the candles lit. Matt, our waiter was attentive. The peach bellini was delicious!($ 10) I shared the Spicy Caesar salad($ 9)and Pink Penne Pasta($ 17)with my best friend. They were both good but the salad was so overpowering so order it with something else. When the salad first arrived, I wondered how it was spicy and you get a huge hit of garlic when you bite into it. Matt was so sweet to bring us mussells(which were amazing) after aksing if anyone was allergic and also 2 dessert plates to sing Happy Birthday to our friend. I took away 1 star only because I ordered meat lasagna to go and it took over 30 minutes. Will be back again! *Their garlic bread is sooooo good*

I came here on a Sunday night and I was super disappointed. My boyfriend and I ordered the brie appetizer, the linguine vongole and the white room pizza. The brie appetizer came with roasted garlic and a piece of baked brie. It was served with the complementary garlic bread they have. The dish was boring and I have definitely had better brie for $ 8. The linguine vongole at first looked very promising. There were so much pancetta and clams that you couldn’t even see the pasta! But once I began eating, the dish was SOOOO salty. I could only take a couple of bites and I was really over it. I have never had such a salty dish. The white room pizza also looked very appetizing but once my boyfriend and I started eating it we thought that the amount of cheese on the pizza was overwhelming. It lacked a lot of flavor as well. There was no garlic taste and it was really heavy. We each only ate a slice out of the whole pie. I don’t know if we ordered the wrong items but the food was so salty we couldn’t finish our meal. The complimentary bread was delicious but we won’t be back.

The best Italian food I have ever had in all of San Diego. I recommend the Theodore’s Fix pizza, «Whitehaven» brand of Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand– it is the most impressive white wine I’ve ever had– they served it perfectly chilled. The house garlic bread is divine with one of the nicest outdoor private quiet patios for private parties. A film is projected onto the cement patio wall– to watch a film while you eat! I also love sitting in the Booths. Well deserved 5 stars to Alexander’s!

We really enjoyed this place. It’s a great cute little date night italian restaurant. The prices were reasonable and the food was tasty. It really is slim pickings for italian food in San Diego in my opinion. We ordered Lobster Ravioli — 7⁄10. Pretty good dish. Plenty of chopped up lobster in the ravioli. Way more than enough to fill me up(I even had enough to take home!) Pink Penne Pasta — 7⁄10. The dish was just pretty good. Me and the wife finished it :) The service was really great. We were seated promptly. Parking kind of sucks, but it’s north park, what can you do.

This place is a really cute date spot. I really liked the décor, especially the patio area where we got seated. They have a movie projected on the wall, a long narrow water fountain in the middle, and portable heaters. My friend recommended this place after having her sister’s bachelorette party here a few months back so we made reservations for a Saturday night. It wasn’t too busy; we had a party of seven. I really do like the location because it’s not so busy and it’s pretty quiet but the parking situation was not the best. We looked for street parking and ended up parking 2 – 3 blocks down. The thing about North Park is that it’s mostly street parking places and residential areas are already packed. The complimentary bread here is AMAZING. The garlic butter and how it’s a little burnt. o.m.g. soo goooood! The one with the sesame seeds was great; had a little crisp to it. I didn’t even use the knife, I use my hands. No time to even be proper. They have a wine list and a beer list and since I’m not a beer type of person, I asked for recommendations on wine with my pasta special. The pasta special was a shrimp and scallop pasta, lots of garlic and cheese. The Mac Murry, Pinot Noir was recommended and it. was. perfect. wow. I always get a meat dish so I mostly do cabs but this one was pretty awesome. The rest of the table got: lobster ravioli, spaghetti and meatballs, walnut gorgonzola, tuscan seafood, a chicken pasta, and another pasta. I can confidently say, everyone’s tummy was happy. Also, GREAT service. Our server was also our photographer for the night!

Quaint date night spot in North Park. I have been eyeing Alexander’s for a while now but haven’t gotten the chance to come here. My BF and I needed to celebrate for the tough month we went through so we started with Alexander’s. The place is on the corner and we came on the only raining and humid night in San Diego. We were greeted and seated near the window. First came the amazing bread! The garlic bread was very good and fresh. We ate 3 servings of bread… It was too good to let down. If you are going to order anything here you should order the mussels. The broth was a white wine and lemony garlic. They added some pancetta and chunks of tomatoes… It was one of the best mussels in the area! Dip the garlic bread in and you can call it a day. We didn’t want to call it a day because if the mussels were good so must be the real food. I got the Tuscan Seafood pasta. It was like the mussels but a red sauce and it was excellent! One thing I thought it was lacking was not having octopus! There were plenty of every seafood, more of the fish. It needed octopus to take it to the next level. Nevertheless it was still really good. My BF got the sausage pasta and he said it was good but oily and the sausage cooked in the pasta made it super salty at the end. He still enjoyed it though. We also ordered a bottle of wine and the wine was affordable. Customer service was great. Everything was really good and well be coming back just for that bread and mussels!

I’ve been wanting to try Alexanders for awhile now and I finally got to experience it. Not bad! It’s a fancy joint, but not too nice(it’s San Diego…). It’s chill, yet still a good place for a date. Check it out: Appetizers: Garlic Bread(house bread) — wayyyyy good, super soft, flakey, and buttery. The sesame seeds were on point. Mussels– bathed in white wine, tomatoes, butter, fresh garlic and basil. Wow. I was super impressed by this dish. I must have eaten three loaves of bread to mop up the broth. Damn good! Baked Vodka Bolognese — Rigatoni, Spicy Italian Sausage, Mushrooms in a Spicy Roma Vodka Sauce. I wasn’t too much of a fan because it was really salty, but not too bad. My least favorite of the nice. I think the sausage should have been a garnish instead of baked into the dish. The grease poisoned it. Tuscan Seafood Pasta — Clams, Scallops, Mussels, Fresh Fish & Shrimp All In White Wine and Marinara Sauce Tossed with Black linguine, Fresh Basil & Garlic. This should have been my main dish. This was way better than the Bolognese. Super good! The varietal seafood ratios were balanced and very plentiful. Great dish! Overall, I highly recommend Alexanders to anyone for any occasion. They’ve got great food and great service for a decent price. See you next time! *Street parking only

We sat early and had drinks. The wine list is pretty comprehensive and we always enjoy the wine we choose. We ordered the lasagna. it is to die for!!! It melts in your mouth!!! And is huge. We also got the bruschetta. There are many choices to choose from but we got the tomato bruschetta which was extremely fresh!!! We ordered a fruit and white chocolate cake that was so delightful. While the food was good, the service here is never the best. Every Time I have been here the servers are not very friendly but management has been helpful when called upon.

Two of us decided to spontaneously go out on a Wednesday night, and we were both craving something carb-laden and comforting. Pizza and pasta sounded about right. Alexander’s sounded like a perfect fit. Alexander’s is part of the same restaurant group that includes Old Venice, so I wasn’t surprised that the interior was stark white. White leather seats, white walls, white everything. The problem with all white is that every imperfection shows. And a lot of the imperfections are really off-putting. Dirty leather with brown and black smudges all over it? Gross. Alexander’s needs a facelift, pronto — or at least new upholstery. Once I got over the dismal state of the interior, I actually enjoyed the place a lot. The two of us had a lovely window seat and noshed on complementary bread, olive oil, and balsamic while browsing the menu. We also each had a glass of wine to pass the time(hurray for inexpensive Pinot Grigios). We seemed to have 3 or 4 different servers tending to our table, which was a little chaotic and excessive for a mostly-empty restaurant, but all the food and drink arrived in a timely manner. We started with a plate of walnut gorgonzola pasta, which the kitchen was kind enough to split for us. I absolutely loved this pasta. The silky pasta and rich gorgonzola cream are just the things to make you sink into your seat, pat your belly, and feel that all is right with the world. We were mostly full after the pasta, but we couldn’t resist having a pizza, so we decided to share the«White Room» pizza(garlic, chicken, basil, ricotta, mozzarella, and pesto). This pizza is a garlic lover’s delight. Not enough is the garlic generously spread over the pizza, but there is a whole head of roasted garlic topping the thing. It’s absolutely delicious, but prepare for your breath to reek for hours afterward. We barely ate a third of the pizza before we were too stuffed with carbs to keep going. We paid the check and got out there, and I spent the walk home enjoying the garlicky aroma of leftover pizza. Luckily it reheated just fine the next day — and made my coworkers extremely jealous.
