At Hillcrest Farmer’s Market. I got the gyro platter with grilled onions and zucchini. It was amazing. Also, she gave us a couple grape leaves and some delicious refreshing drink. Delicious quality and amazing portions! I absolutely will be getting this again. Also, it is wonderful to support a family owned restaurant.

At the Hillcrest Farmer’s Market. The huge Shawarma that I ordered looked like a hit, plenty of people were stopping me asking me where they could buy this. But it looked more pleasing than it tasted. Shawarma(Lamb & Beef): Inside a pita bread. I had like 5 pieces of lamb & too much beef. I asked for a lamb gyro but this is what I got. The lamb was great but the beef was so dry, a couple of pieces I bit into was so fatty that I had to spit it out. The falafel was super dry.

I needed some solid food after the gelato event and so I slipped back here for a slice of spinach pie and salad. I loved the eggplant dip which was new! My food was quick to come and my server was really, really nice but the pie was waaaay greasier than I remembered. I’m not sure I’d come back again, especially on a short trip… (NB they’ve also taken down the huge FREAKYGOOD, FREAKYFRESH banner, which I miss!)

Good, not great. Nor Greek. I should have known from the name but I’ve been so desperate to find an authentic Greek gyros place, and this had such high ratings, I had such high hopes. I spent 6 weeks in Greece, and ate gyros daily. These sandwiches, while huge and satisfying, are not them. First, the gyro has zucchini and cabbage in it. Never seen that in my life. The bread was also not Greek pita(i guess the only similar bread is offered in the small sandwiches? Wish they would have told me when I ordered) The tzatziki sauce was also… off. Too sour, not enough cucumber. Probably won’t be back.

Definitely a little hole in the wall but the gyros are delicious. Every interaction I have had with an employee has been super pleasant and they always make you feel like you are family. I love it. The appearance could definitely use some sprucing up but it is in a great location to grab a quick bite while at the beach.

This is hands down the tastiest gyro I’ve ever had in my life. I also ordered a Bosnian Burger which wasn’t on the menu. Omg! It was so delicious. Highly recommended

I will come here everytime i come to San Diego. The Beef/lamb gyro is the best i have ever had. The meat has flavor that you can’t get anywhere else. I have been to many Greek restaurants and I can never find a Tzatziki suace like this. I will say that it is even better than the white sauce from the Halal guys in New York. Do yourself a favor and stop by and have yourself an authentic gyro!

Stopped in for lunch and the owner was AMAZING! Made us a «Sampler Platter» including drinks for the 4 of us with EVERYTHING on it from the menu(bc he could see the girls were having a hard time deciding). Everything was amazing and our daughter actually ate 2 full gyros and so did her friend(and they’re small girls). The food was delish — the owner fabulous — and the atmosphere is true Greek!!! Definitely will be back ever time we are in the area!!!

This review is long overdue. I was visiting town for work and one of my accounts tells me I had to come here, so I did, and have never forgotten the feeling experienced ever since. The hospitality and kindness I was met with was awesome. I assume it was a cultural gesture, but was still shocked when they refused to take my money until I had finished my meal at the tables outside and insist I was satisfied. The food was excellent, loved every bite, and have been wanting to revisit since. To me, this is the kind of place that makes small business and the beach towns they populate so special – a family feel, customer service, a genuine and inherent desire by the owners(who are there working and greeted with a smile) to ensure your happiness as a customer. I’m so glad to see that even years later(yes, long overdue feedback here), they are still thriving. For the service alone, I’d encourage anyone to come here but even if you have no spot in your heart for small businesses and the awesome families that pour their heart and soul into them, come in for the food!

This place was amazing, so glad I decided to stop in. Really limited menu but they excel at what they actually make. Gyro sandwich had so much meat and it was really tasty. Pita bread was fresh and huge. I will definitely come back if I’m in town again. Easy to miss place as it doesn’t really sick out from outside but can’t miss food.

This place is the best! Hubs wanted to try a new place for gyros and he found Arslan’s on . I was a little hesitant because, well… it’s PB. Parking sucks. We drove around Arslan’s for a while and couldn’t find a spot. I wanted to give up and go somewhere else, but Hubs hung in there and told me to call them. Arslan himself answered and was awesome. He patiently listened as I rambled on about no parking and told me to come to the restaurant and he’d take care of it. We did a u-turn and headed back to the restaurant and saw him standing in the middle of the street, waving us down and showing us where to park. Awesome! He brought out plates of amazing food and was so nice to us! The falafel was the best I’ve ever tasted and I eat falafel everywhere. Hubs ordered the gyros and even got me, the hesitant eater, to try some. It was amazing as well. The salad was fresh, the dolmades were tasty and Arslan brought us this tasty bread topped with sesame seeds. We’ll be back soon!

We spent a week in mission bay and as we walked we came across a joint that displayed the word Gyros in big bold letters. Just returning from a trip to Greek islands, we were reminded of the great food. we went in and were greeted by a most friendly, sweet young woman as we watched her dad painstakingly placing gyro meats around the spit and adding slices of zucchini between layers. We were intrigued and ordered our favorites. I had the best spinach/feta pie and salad ever. Tzadiki sauce was full of dill. My guy ordered chicken Schwarma on pita. So fresh, tender and each biter a smile on his face. even nicer when we were eating outside with our parrot and greyhound, the mom came and brought us samples of their falafel. they were not greasy, large, fluffy and tasty. All as good as islands. We will return. good news, they are at Oceanside and other farmer markets!

While visiting a colleagues home we were pleasantly surprised by this European style Greek Mediterranean and Adriatic delicacy casual restaurant. With mural painted walls and a family style atmosphere it is warm and friendly. I give them 5 stars due to the wonderful, caring customer service. We had the Mezzeh Plate and it was delicious and plentiful. And what a great price $ 10! Their fresh squeezed orange juice was quite delicious too. Their homemade pita was really wonderful. Loved their homemade sauces!

I was looking for place with Cevapi so long and finally, I found it. Food is delicious. Owner is so nice, I felt like I am in Bosnia. Cevapcici, Baklava and Turkish coffee, that’s all you need. I will go there again. And again.

I am a big fan of gyros, especially when they are made as well as Arslan and Vahida. There is nothing like them and their customer service is absolutely amazing. I live in Hillcrest and go to the Farmer’s market most Sundays and I always get a gyro from their stand. They use quality products and I always feel like a member of their family when I am there. They really have a good sense of people and really try to make their customers feel at home when dining with them or purchasing food at the market. If you would like to take your purchase home instead of attempting to eat it while dodging the throngs of people at the market, she will package it up especially for you to transport home. With so many restaurants competing in today’s society, it is incredibly important to support our small businesses. If you have not a gyro from them, grab your cash and run down to their location on Mission Blvd or see them at the Hillcrest Farmer’s market on Sunday. She is so loving and makes you feel just like you are the most important customer in the world. I will continue to support this business time and time again.

I hadn’t had a Gyro in a long time. It was one of the go-to post-bar foods for me in college, so clearly, there’s a sense of nostalgia that I associate with this delicious dish. We spotted Arslan’s a couple blocks from the beach. The place had a cool hole-in-the-wall beach town vibe, which is exactly what my wife and I were going for. For lunch, I ordered a Lamb & Beef Gyro with Fries. The Gyro meat was really nice and was further enhanced by the tzatziki that they provided and hot sauce that I requested. The Gyro itself is quite sizable and filling. The fries were just so-so. It felt like very few, but this was good as the Gyro itself is large as I mentioned. Great place.

At first I was questioning the $ 12 price of the gyro sandwich combo on pita with fries and drink: a combo you can usually find around town for easily under $ 10, but I was happy that they seriously piled on the tender gyros meat and grilled onions( ). The gyros meat was, like I said tender, but also had pieces that had a good crunchy seer on them. It came with a quirt of their house hot sauce and a small amount of yogurt sauce, which I wished they put more of( ). One thing that I really liked was that they added a heap of flavorful grilles onions along with fresh tomatoes( ). The pita bread was very moist and I appreciated the way they wrapped the gyro sandwich in strong foil to help keep it together while I ate it. The french fries were quite food. They had a really good crunchy exterior, a soft center, and had spot on seasoning( ). The owner and cook is very proud of what he has to offer his customers. Prices are higher than average for this particular type of food, but the quantity you receive is above average and it taste great.
