The rice teriyaki bowls are top notch. High quality meats and teriyaki sauce is like no other. Not the most amazing ambiance inside so I usually get food to go. Good beers on draft too.

The cilantro lime tacos were pretty small, yet surprisingly fulling! My husband had the fried rice with teriyaki chicken & beef, and completely devoured it. Worth a try!

Great food. The beef teriyaki was delicious, meat was perfect. Took awhile for food to be ready, but worth the weight.

Go there. Get the Ahi Sliders. Seriously. Get them. It was dollar beer day when we went, so that was awesome! I think it was Friday. Lets talk more about the sliders. They come with seaweed salad on and a wasabi sauce. Texture is awesome with the seaweed salad, and the wasabi adds a kick. YUM! Everyone loved their food, but seriously, nothing could have been better than the Ahi Sliders. Get THOSE!

The chicken teriyaki and rice are super good, as well as the ahi slider. The phô is not worth it though! I ordered beef phô and unlike the phô I’ve always had there was hardly any meat at all, just about 5 thumb sized pieces of thin beef. Didn’t taste too good either, so it’s best to get that somewhere else. The staff is nice but it takes FOREVER for the food to be ready. They tell you the wait time after you’ve already paid, and even then they exceed that wait time. We waited 45 minutes in a nearly empty restaurant for our food, and two people next to us waited a full hour for two teriyaki bowls. Great food but it’s best to call and order in advance.

Do not order the phở. There’s broccoli mixed in… what? Stick to their teriyaki bowls.

This place is delicious. The only reason I took a star off was because the portions aren’t that big for the price. I will say this not your typical greasy Chinese food fix. The tar-yoke chicken with rice was fresh, tasty, and had a lot of flavor.

We are staying right across the street from this place. We ordered chicken teriyaki bowls and they we really spicy. I called them and let them know and they replaced them with the non spicy teriyaki sauce. They were so nice about it. Food was fresh, fast, and really good. Would be nice to have a little veggie with the bowl, but overall, pretty good. I’m sure we will be back.

Small place but very good phở. Not pricey at all and it’s fast. If you are close to the beach this would be a go to.

Real pop machine! We had the chicken egg rolls and they were fantastic! The only reason it’s only 4 stars is because we haven’t eaten here enough, but we will be back! Hole in the wall so don’t expect high brow. Came back this evening and has dinner and updated to 5 stars. Really good especially compared to what you would expect walking in expecting beach food.

I’m from the Tacoma WA and lived all over WA and for a place that promotes itself as a PNW joint, it definitely doesn’t taste like it. The teriyaki sauce is really runny like it’s just soy sauce. Also it takes you a really long time to get your food even though my friend and I were the only people there. Food was also overpriced for what you got. There was really more rice than chicken in the chicken teriyaki. I think the owner should probably go back up to the northwest to learn the recipes again. It seems pretty simple and would probably garner more future fan. Probably won’t go back.

I’m from the Seattle area and have been looking for a good teriyaki joint here in San Diego that could offer a taste of home. This didn’t do the trick for me. The sauce/glaze tastes a lot like soy sauce and didn’t offer the thick sweet flavored sauce like I’m used to. I ordered the chicken breast which came in little pieces and not a large quantity for the price. Overall kinda bland. I probably won’t stop by again.

Good little stop. I had the tofu yakisoba, David had a chicken teriyaki bowl. Goya and spring rolls to start. The place is obviously a local fave. Neat bowls and friendly staff. Good place to go if you can’t make up your mind as it has burgers too.

This place is a few blocks away from the beach and its located in narrow Mission Blvd. and between Mission Beach Park and Mission Bay. So what was ordered here, we went for their Cilantro Lime Tacos. They were hard to see on their menu because the fonds were too small in a already hard to read flyer. Chicken Tacos were at $ 2. ea. and Beef tacos were at $ 3. ea. I wanted to order three of each, just so that we get a good taste of both of them, since they were in small portions. My verdict on their Cilantro Lime Tacos, they were okay. Its your choice meat topped with guacamole, cilantro, lettuce sesame seeds and a hint of lime, cradled on a flour tortilla. I felt that these weren’t tasty enough. They’d probably be better off with some sriracha and hoisin sauce or teriyaki for added flavor, because they tasted a bit greeny, but this were good healthy choices. Seating inside is small, but has porch seating to enjoy your grub facing the boulevard. On my visit next here. I would like to try out their, burgers & sliders, Teriyaki bowls, Japanese fried rice & yakisoba.

Wanted to try a new local place in PB! I was not let down. Good eats for cheap! The inside was small and casual, you go to the counter to order and there’s outside porch seating-great if you like to people watch! They had alot of options on the menu, like phở noodles, stir fry, some seafood, but the main event is the teriyaki bowls. I got the #2 combo which is teriyaki chicken and beef with fried rice and 4 gyozas: $ 11. Theres also a ton of choices to customize your bowl with different sides and stuff. It was plenty of food and super tasty! I want to come back for some noodles, and then try all the different bowl options.

My «girlfriend» warned me not to go here. I told her she’s not the boss of me. I got a chicken teriyaki plate and a teriyaki burger. Too much oil, chicken was gross, I don’t recommend going. +1 star the spicy teriyaki sauce was good.

I really enjoyed this spot. It was my first time there but it was worth it. It has a small town– dive bar feel with super friendly service. They have beers and a solid range of different foods, plus vegan and vegetarian options.

5 stars for Jeffrey and $ 1 beer fridays! Sadly, I can’t give the food the same stellar rating. On the way back from the beach, we ran into a very colorful lady on the sidewalk yelling about $ 1 beers at the teriyaki shop down the street. As spring breakers, this was a deal we couldn’t pass up. And once we saw there were gluten free options for a few of the girls, we were sold. This place is small, and Jeffrey is running a one man show as owner, cashier, food runner, photographer and bus boy. He pretty much did everything but cook the food. There were 10 of us and he even wrangled up an area for us all to sit to together. Jeffrey is awesome. I decided to go for the chicken teriyaki bowl, and after being told how awesome the fried rice was, I added it on for a small extra fee. The food was presented beautifully, but the flavor was just lackluster. The fried rice that was raved about just wasn’t special, and the teriyaki sauce lacked flavor. I added some Sriracha and this helped add the kick that was lacking. I will say, most everyone else I was with enjoyed their meals, so maybe I just ordered bad? On to the beer– GOONFRIDAYSFORTHE $ 1DEAL! Not sure what time this starts, but it lasts until 8pm. And if you really want a good deal, go for the pitcher at only $ 9!

I live up the street and was hoping I could add this place to my take-out rotation. However, I was sorely disappointed by both the food and service considering this place has a 4 star rating. I walked in around 5pm on a weekday and was not greeted by anyone. There were two people working in the store at the time, a male on a computer and a female behind the counter. I stared at the menu and eventually had to ask permission to order… it was super awkward because it almost felt like they weren’t open? Anyway, I ordered the chicken lettuce wraps to-go because I felt too awkward to stay and eat in the tiny shop. After I ordered, the guy on the computer went to the back… so maybe he’s also the cook? Weird. I waited 10 minutes for my food and took it home to eat. As soon as I opened the bag, I could feel oil/grease all over the Styrofoam box. I opened the box and the portion size looked ok, but not great. It tasted ok, but the grease element was hard to get over. I won’t be back.
