Perfect spot to be on the beach with your crew! I thought the vodka tonic was disgusting but its not really about the quality here but the ambiance. I would just have beers next times! No biggie!

My girlfriend heard about this spot from one of her coworkers and said we had to check it out while visiting the city: — Located right on the beach with indoor bar and outdoor patio seating — Great place to view the sunset — Cash only — Cheap drinks, $ 5 — $ 6 average for beers and shots — Bike parking available — Funny/sarcastic bartenders, not difficult to get service I would definitely come back if I find myself in SD on Mission Beach!

I loved this place a year ago before I moved here mainly due to the stunning view from the patio. The last few times I’ve been here it’s been a poor experience at best. There are cool things, the music is usually good, nice and loud, and the view is great. The inside is cramped, there’s a little space below to watch games but the service has been terrible the last couple times. Went in a couple months ago for drinks. The bartender was probably one of the most unfriendly bartenders we’ve encountered in San Diego. He literally didn’t talk and just stared at us while continuing a conversation with what appeared to be one of his buddies. Never talked and never said«thanks». We chalked it up to maybe a bad moment but we went back in about a half hour later and he still seemed more into some TV show and visiting his friends that it was hard to get another drink order. We left. Stopped back in about a month ago now for lunch and drinks. The security guy was friendly but that’s where the customer service stopped once again. This time it was a different bartender and he was not friendly. I don’t understand that mentality at this place. It’s almost as if you’re inconveniencing them or they hate their jobs. Come on, people want to not only enjoy the beach but want to have decent service. Where I got upset with this place was with the food. We ordered nachos and specifically told the guy cooking that I’m very allergic to avocado/guacamole and to make sure he keeps it off our nachos. So, we get the nachos and I start eating. As I’m about to take a bite, I notice guacamole. I set the chip down and my GF takes them back in and shows him where he must have accidentally put it on and then tried scooping it off. Seriously? I tell you I have an allergy and that’s how you’re going to cover up your mistake? He get’s defensive with her and tells us that it’s not guacamole, it’s some green stuff in their salsa/spices. It didn’t even make sense. So, my GF tries it and indeed it’s guacamole. He doesn’t refund us, doesn’t make us new nachos, so we threw them away and left. That’s not cool. Lucky for all involved that I didn’t ingest any of it but if you’re in the food industry and someone tells you they have an allergy, you might want to pay attention to what you’re doing. Not sure if we’ll be back. It’s a great location hopefully they can up the service a bit.

Cash only? Que? Apparently The food is totally ok! Ok! And the view of the beach is +++. But it’s just. Mediocre place next to an awesome location. Come for the free beach. Cash only!

Beautiful view! Bartender not friendly at all, he maybe hates his job or at the very least having a bad day… CASHONLY,

One of the better places in PB to get a drink. The outside patio is pure awesomeness. You get to hang out, watch the sunset or just people watch or just hang and chat it up with your pals. Get here early if you want a seat or just keep an eye out for anything that opens up. I think its cash only so be aware of that. Cheap drinks also! This place is a win win win win

Great place on pacific beach to hit up if you want some quick food and drinks while on a patio overlooking the beach. Lots of options, and drinks are fairly priced considering this is a popular tourist area. Took 1 star off because of service. Waitress said she’ll come back with menus and never did, so we ended up ordering and getting our own food & drinks.

Location Location Location! This is the only reason I ever step foot in this place. The deck view is amazing right on the sidewalk giving you a ocean view. They have a prime property, I do not get why it has not been revamped yet. The drinks and ambiance are not the best and to top it all of the crowd is always 40+

Quite literally the worst bar in PB. The one redeeming quality is that it’s right on the beach and has an awesome deck. The rest is just ridiculously awful. Worst service I’ve ever received, the bouncer was incredibly impolite and impatient for us to show IDs, and stared at it for what seemed like an hour because apparently he can’t read faster than a two year old. The photo is two years old so it’s not like he had to check that or it was the incredibly hard math of working out if I was over 21. Inside, bar service took about ten minutes despite the bar tender only having poured two drinks in that time. He kind of scowled around at the patrons, exchanged words with another, equally sour looking staff then wandered over, barked«what do you want» and then we ordered our drinks. As you’ve probably read in other reviews, they don’t take credit and yet it still took minutes to give us $ 3 change from $ 15. Math is hard, yes. But he was mid 40s so I’d think his basic addition and subtraction were a little more advanced than that. But whatever. They have good drink specials on a Sunday, but is it really worth it? No. No it is not. If you want absolute beach frontage, put a beer in a Starbucks cup and sit on the sand, or don’t even bother with that — getting arrested for an open container would still be a better experience than entering this absolute hellhole and mockery of a public bar.

Beach front, tons of bike parking & cash only. Margaritas were on the sweet side and beer doesn’t quite taste as good in plastic cups. That said, killer location and an excellent place to grab a beer while cruising the board walk. If you are coming to see the sunset, come early. You aren’t the first with that idea.

Love this spot for the simple fact it has an amazing patio, the food is good and you pay as you go. Prices are reasonable. Been here twice now and both times the experience was the same. Cash only for food and bar. People smoke on the patio, so if that bothers you then don’t go. 21+. The bartender definitely wasn’t friendly but he made my drink quick and I was back to the patio. It’s like a taco truck meets a bar and they add a patio with a great view.

«Sorry sir, I can’t let you in with a military ID, only a drivers license.» Seriously!!! One can serve for our country but not get in the bar because a military ID does not provide a physical description??? It doesn’t matter that a color photo and date of birth are listed on the government issued military ID. We could have easily walked back to the hotel for a state issued drivers license but I refuse to give any business to an establishment that will not recognize one serving in the military.

Whoever owns this place is an idiot ! Cash only? 1947 called, they want their shitty business plan back. You’re getting ripped the fuck off ! You’ll greatly benefit from a POS system in more ways than one. And tell your bartenders to lighten up, they’re bartenders ! They don’t have to smile, just tell them to stop going out of their way to be complete assholes ! I don’t care to go the LBC, but when friends come to town, that’s all they want to do. I go(reluctantly) but I refuse to order from /tip those salty, rat prick bartenders. The server gals have always been nice, though, so between that and the decent food, you’re doing something right.

I went here with a group of friends over the weekend. It was a relatively weird experience. First of all, the ID policy was super weird. San Diego is a military town but this bar doesn’t accept military IDs without a state drivers license. Very weird. Secondly, it’s cash only which is hilarious in this day and age. I never hear of cash only places unless it’s literally a stand on the side of the road. Third, the food is OK at best. I got the chilaquiles and they were mediocre-almost bland. Finally, it’s crowded for no reason. Go anywhere else on PB and get better food and better service.

Not a huge fan of this place. I got a shrimp burrito, and it was more tortilla than anything else. The shrimp itself was tasty, just wish it had more of that and not just folds of tortilla. I didn’t particularly like the drinks, and they definitely held back on the alcohol. I don’t mind paying for drinks, but I do expect for the bartender to not fill the cup with mostly ice and soda. I felt they were overpriced for what I got. I might try this place again(especially cus you can’t beat the view) but I’m not all that motivated to give it another shot.

This place it literally always packed when I’m have been walking by so last week when I was walking by with my buddy and we saw that it was pretty much empty we decided to stop by. They have a nice selection of beer on tap. We headed out to the balcony to watch the sunset and it was awesome. Just a heads up. It’s cash only and all beers and I’m assuming all drinks are served in a plastic cup, not glass

I have been coming to Lahainas for many years and it used to be one of my favorite dive beach spots mostly for the view, well no longer. May 12015 Friday night and we stopped to share a pitcher of beer for a quiet night with a view of the beach, we arrived at 8:30, they close at 9pm so a half hour seemed reasonable. 5 minutes in and the waitress asks if we want another pitcher — no we were still ok with just the one. A few minutes later at 8:40 the door guy demanded everyone to vacate the premises in 5 minutes. Not your normal we are closing so finish up this was a threat.(btw no one mentioned this when we came in or when the girl tried to take another order) Well, I wasn’t anticipating they would sell me the beer then demand I slam in a few minutes. 8:45 came and we were almost done but not quite. The 500 lb goon started making physical threats. I asked for just a couple minutes to let us finish; after all they close at 9 pm. Well, that was not good enough, he is was to throw his considerable weight around and bully everyone. He got really aggressive, confrontational and threatened to throw us out. 8:46 ok fine whatever just finishing up the beer we paid for. It escalates further he freaks out starts is getting physical — He demanded everyone leave IMMEDIATELY — again they close at 9 pm. So fine we left — what a freakin’ psycho. He then yelled after the patrons not to ever come back. Wow just wow. Especially considering how many restaurant/bars are closing their doors in PB. What establishment would condone this behavior from their staff? These loose cannons are doing serious damage, he is a liability with potentially serious consequences. If a business has a negligent security or negligent hiring problem it is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Employees have no special authority, and cannot assault patrons. When a bouncer is responsible for hurting a patron, not only can the bouncer be sued, but so can the night club or bar itself. A club owner could face any of the following negligence claims: premises liability, negligent hiring, negligent security, negligent entrustment, negligent retention, negligent infliction of emotional distress. Will NEVER come again, or bring anyone here. Abusing paying customers when there are so many nearby restaurants that actually want your business is not the best plan, but after reading other reviews — seems it happens all the time.

Good beer. Great view. Just remember it’s cash only. Know what you want when you approach the bartender or he gets kinda irritated(totally understandable due to the fact that this place is crazy busy) rode our fat-tires to this place and cooled down with some delicious brew and a nice view. Love the patio party vibe.

This is the best beach bar I have ever been to. I could go and just be there all day until close… it’s just that good of a place. The fish tacos are fantastic, and the tequila selection is great… they could use a few more though(hint hint). The sunsets at LBH are absolutely SPECTACULAR. I could watch them again and again. Steve, Josh and the bartenders, cooks, wait staff, and security are some of the coolest, and nicest people in the bar scene. I’m glad to call LBH my «Home Base Bar». Long Live Lahaina Beach House!!!

This place is definitely divey but it’s always fun and has a great crowd! The drinks are very inexpensive and you can’t beat the view. If you’re looking to get a nice table and enjoy a wonderful lunch this is not the place but if you don’t mind standing, drinking out of a plastic cup and snacking on bar food then this is the place! They have the iTunes music box and always have a good selection going, the drink lines go quick and they have servers on the patio also. One thing to know is they they only take cash, but they do have an atm if you don’t have any with you and there’s never a cover charge!
