AKA«The Spot»…If you go, don’t tell your friends about it! Better to keep this place a secret!

This place is great — good breakfast food, ocean view, good service, low prices. I went here for breakfast on a pefect cloudless sunday morning and the outside patio was full so we went upstairs to a small deck overlooking the boardwalk & ocean. I had the artichoke scramble which came with a side of salsa and rosemary potatoes. perfect amount of food, and tasted great. my friend had the chocolate chip pancakes, which I also tried. I don’t usually like pancakes but these were amazing.

Mmmh… I see that another Unilocaler had the same problem… So there is something in water!

One of my favorite things to do in San Diego is take a nice long walk on the beach with my boyfriend, then hit up this café for a Thai Mocha or hot tea. If we manage to get there before 2, we could have one of their yummy meals or sandwiches! Cheers! UPDATE very cool, they now have live music that actually sounds really great! 3 – 6, perfect for sunset.

This is my second review of this place, the first one was negative but I went back the day before Thanksgiving and had a good experience. Had breakfast on the boardwalk while watching the surf and the people. Our server had to serve the entire place by herself and she did just fine. The menu is a variety of $ 8 breakfast wraps and sandwiches, all vegetarian. My meat-loving boyfriend approved of their soy chorizo breakfast wrap and I had the jalapeño wrap. Lots of healthy choices on the menu. The OJ was good but the $ 4.25 Pumpkin Spice Latte is over-priced and tastes like a regular latte. Overall, this is the place for a casual bite at the beach, outdoors with good people watching.

This is a nice place to grab a bite to eat because it’s right on the beach. A small hut that serves mouth-water sandwiches and appetizers. Perfect for feeding that beach appetite after a day of sunbathing. Seating is not easily found because customers tend to sit there and enjoy the weather for awhile before the leave. Otherwise, a nice alternative to a deli on the beach.

Sometimes we run out of beans from Zumbar. Sometimes we’re lazy. Sometimes we get coffee at Be Curious. To be honest, i haven’t eaten here, though the food does look pretty good; i reserve the right to update this review after eating here. Which i should do, because this place is primed for people-watching: seating right along the boardwalk and what looks to be a little roof-top patio. On one occasion i got really angry, though. Because Be Curious is nestled amongst a variety of beach-area ho– and motels, there are often tourists grabbing the closest cup of joe. That’s fine. Great, in fact. But taking 15 minutes to order, like, 43 barrels of various coffee and non-coffee drinks(many requiring barra action), changing the order AGAIN because the snotty eight-year-old actually does want a hot chocolate… it’s not your fault, Be Curious, but all i wanted to get was a cup of okay coffee, the twelve-ounce size. And i was much happier when i did. Service with sweet(and large) back tattoos? Check. Reasons to complain about the coffee? No check. Arnold Palmers? Check.
