I can’t speak of the food because I only drank here. Was early for my flight so I sat at the bar and went through 2 carafes of wine. I can’t remember the name of the lady working, but she was a delight. I had a really nice time relaxing and catching a nice buzz before boarding.

Yay, Anna! Great poke, great wine, and good luck with your education! This is a very nice spot to whittle away a few hours and relax pre-flight. Cheers!

Get the ahi! Generous portion and so flavorful. My husband and I splurged here while waiting for our flight. Nice open view of the planes. Had prosecco and my husband had red wine. Service was friendly. No complaints!

Bartender is very friendly and changed the TV so I could watch tennis. The champagne selections are awesome and allowed me to try a few different Rose and Bruts I’ve never had before. Their lite fare selections are pretty good as well. I ordered the chartruderie plate and tuna tartare. Pretty big for just one person but I was famished and still didn’t finish. I believe they should offer some tapas to allow business travelers who are solo to eat a few small bites while enjoying the champagne instead of being forced to order large portioned appetizers which is more $$ and realistically the place would be more profitable with tapas(larger margin) and since they don’t have a kitchen, may be easier to keep food fresher and less waste. They should also offer a champagne sampler that are smaller glasses. If they add that, I would give a 5 stars.

I don’t normally write reviews, but Bubbles was such an unexpected find I had to review it. I spend a great deal of time in airports and the food is mediocre when you’re lucky. Bubbles is the exception to the rule. The tuna poke was fresh, delicious and abundant. It was a meal in it itself. The service was great– the bartender a delight to deal with and he makes a great martini. If it wasn’t beyond TSA, Bubbles could easily compete with San Diego’s sushi bars.

The sight of a wine bar in the terminal was promising, but unfortunately the good news stopped there. While the service was wonderful, the nice lady who poured my wine was helpful(gave me a taste) and friendly, unfortunately my chicken caesar salad was horrid. It was overdressed with a cloying dressing and with cold gelatinous chicken that I could barely eat. One caesar salad with chicken and a glass of wine: $ 39. Sigh.

Bubbles was an unexpected surprise in San Diego Airport’s new 2nd story terminal. I arrived at the airport earlier than anticipated for an overnight flight to JFK. Sipping a cocktail-or two-sounded like the perfect medicine for the journey. Bubbles is a beautiful full-service bar, offering not only any libation you’re in the mood for, but also a variety of bar bites to nosh on. I passed on the food and focused on consuming a dirty martini. Filthy dirty, to be specific. It was made well, exactly to my specifications. Extra olives? No problem. Service with a smile. Prices, too, were very reasonable, considering it’s located in an airport where everything is typically inflated. Bubbles will be my new hangout whenever I’m in a pre-flight status.
