Went to pick up some lunch on a slow afternoon. They were only serving me and I ordered a sandwich and a salad. I waited 20 minutes for my food. There were four folks working, so I have no idea why it took so long. One of the guys working had a toothpick or something on his mouth he kept playing with while cleaning. He was making contact with his MOUTH while«cleaning.» It freaked me out, but I averted my eyes and prayed that the gal that had taken out order would prep our food and he would keep his saliva to himself. The salad was oiled, but didn’t taste dressed. It was supposed to be a vinegarette, but all I tasted was oil. The turkey and bacon sandwich was good and layered with a lot of meat. Food — 3 or 4 stars. I ordered a Mexican Coke because my hubby loves Coca-Cola made with real sugar in a glass bottle(what I’ve always heard of as a «Mexican Coke.») instead, he was brought a cola of «Mexican Coke» brand. Disappointed. Overall, a «meh» experience. If I was hungry for a sandwich, I’d go to Con Pane across the street(they were closed for a Bakers Holiday) or go to Trader Joes or Vons. Not worth the 26 bucks.

Been here six times on different days during their posted business hours and the door has always been locked. Every single time there are people in there behind the counter looking at me as I try to get in like I’m crazy. I would love try your stuff but apparently you aren’t open when you’re supposed to be. Maybe you should have your correct hours up or post a closed sign when you aren’t open.

a very small little chocolate shop in point loma. the chocolates were displayed nicely. the guy behind the counter greeted me right away and was very helpful. i chose the mexican chocolate. At room temperature, the shell stays pretty hard. The inside is a bit thin with a bit of a grainy texture. It has a cinnamon/nutmeg flavor. this truffle was a bit over $ 2. most of the other chocolate pieces contained some sort of alcohol, not my preference when it comes to chocolates, so the selection was limited at the time. they also offer drinks here, coffees, teas, and wine. theres a small table across the counter, but no other real place to sit. maybe best for picking up to go. really, a very small space, worth checking out if you’re in the area. ps, i would have loved to try their brownie, i see so many pictures of it here! sadly, none available during my visit.

Came here on a whim since Con Pane was closed. Not impressed with the chocolates, not impressed with the service and I don’t see this business lasting if they continue treating new potential customers like 3rd class citizens. If I come in expecting«artisanal» chocolates, you better pretend to enjoy your job and sell the hell out of these chocolates to me. It seems like I do this in every review when it comes to customer service but it’s important that you make your business stand out especially in Liberty Station where there isn’t a whole lot of foot traffic. I walk in and was not even greeted with a «Hello! Welcome to Chi Chocolat!» from the 2 employees behind the counter. Seriously, I’ve had better greetings at a gas station with guys that look like they belong to the Russian mafia. Anyway, just browsing the chocolates and still no «Hello, if you have any questions about any of our chocolates, feel free to ask me!» Or how about even taking it a step further, «Hello, here’s a sample(you can give out tiny pieces) of our Lavender just to give you an idea of how exquisite our chocolates taste. My personal favorite is…» Get my gist? SELL your chocolates to me so I can come back for more, while telling everyone else to come here. Honestly, you’re better off going to Chuao or shit, even See’s! I looked at my box for literally 5 minutes and I couldn’t justify eating them. I should have just eaten my money instead. The chocolates were nothing to rave about and well, given the type of service I received, I think I’ll just stick to Taza Chocolates. Chi Chocolat, I suggest hiring(or retraining) people who care about having, you know, a job and your goods.

I live near Chi and have been coming here the past 3 years. I love that it is locally owned, by some great people, none the less:). They have expanded this year and now serve meals. This weekend we had extended family in town and we went to Chi Chocolate for breakfast 2 mornings in a row, per my family’s request! They have a great children’s play corner which kept the little ones busy while grown ups talk. My brother highly recommends the espresso(he had 4 each time:)! I recommend the chocolate chill(made with almond milk). Their chocolates are beautiful and great also. They are so accommodating! I’ve also cohosted a party in this space and they were great! Food is fresh and delish every time ! It’s so much cooler then that«coffee chain» on every corner;)…go local!

Love love love INLOVE!!! This place is comfortable with outdoor and indoor, intimate seating options. The staff is incredibly friendly and passionate about their craft. The drink I would typically order from Starbucks is done far better here with superior ingredient options, for example: instead of a regular mocha, with soy milk, at this place I can get a dark chocolate mocha with almond milk(they offer soy as well but I greatly prefer almond!). Their coffee is so wonderful there is almost no bitterness and they are awesome with customizations: today I got a raspberry dark chocolate decaf mocha with a pinch of cinnamon. I also tried their spicy mocha on my last visit and it was phenomenal! Their truffles… hard to articulate the awesomeness! I’m typically a Godiva girl. This place blows them out of the water and are similarly priced. At $ 2.50 a pop, it’s hard to justify buying them but the flavors are glorious. The lavender one is made with dried, ground, lavender! It’s bouquet is so glorious and fills my senses. They are all so pretty as well! My interactions with the staff are so pleasant and I am now a regular! I learned today that this place also makes lunches for a couple of the local schools which is so heartwarming to know that some kids are getting qualify food and I hope more businesses do this! I have not tried their food items outside of a pastry, yet, but I intend to. It always smells wonderful here! I did try an almond croissant. It was pleasant but these items are not made in house! Such a shame because if they had more offerings that possibly featured their chocolates, they would do even better! I always leave this place looking forward to my next visit!

They have an awesome kid play area! The chocolates look yummy, but they don’t have any milk chocolate… Only dark. And the chocolates are a bit pricey :(

This place was definitely thought out, to be perfection. From the chocolates to the detailed customer service the owner was super sweet and answered all the questions I had. I can’t wait to try the champagne chocolates to start the new year 2015. With Valentines around the corner their heart shaped chocolates look amazing. I highly recommend this place for some extra sweetness in your life!:-)

I have no idea why but I actually have yet to go to the Liberty Station location but I was a regular back when they were in Little Italy. I loved this place, they had the best Panini’s I had ever tried in my life. I was hooked. Everything from their candy assortment to their to chai tea latte was bomb, let alone all their different kinds of chocolates. Come Valentines Day or my anniversary these guys always hooked me up with with some of the tastiest and most visually appealing chocolates you could find anywhere.

I’m local to the area and have tried Chi Chocolat many times. When they first opened I gave them the benefit of the doubt when it came to service. You will notice many people poke their heads in or wait to be acknowledged before leaving. When they first opened in Liberty Station they offers milk, white, or dark chocolate mochas which have since been removed from the menu leaving dark chocolate mochas as your option. I like to bring family here for the fun espresso/latte experience but overall I no longer frequent this place.

We were going to stop by Con Pane but it wasn’t open, so we decided to try out this tiny café snugly located in a building with a few art studios. And ooh la la! Antique furniture and a pretty display with lots of chocolate! We ordered a raspberry mocha, mocha, mocha, lavender chocolate, bacon and maple chocolate, chili chocolate, candied orange peel chocolate and some more chocolates. The mochas were brilliant! They scooped up a good dollop of heavy dark chocolate and poured it into our cups, and topped the drink off with loads of freshly grounded coffee. They of course, tasted wonderful. The chocolates were cute and served as great presents. I bought two candied orange peel chocolate and both of my friends adored the lovely orange peels dipped in chocolate.

This place is awesome. I walked in on a whim. They were playing awesome reagea quietly and the women behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. The selection is awesome. I had the Mexican mocha, which was a little sweet and one of the tangerine chili chocolate truffles, which was awesome. The only reason this place isn’t getting 5 stars is that my mocha was too sweet, however, I will be back again to try the spicy hot chocolate. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and I might up this review to five stars if the spicy chocolate is on point!

Great things come in small packages. I am hooked on these sinful truffles! The price tag on these little indulgences are pricey — but definitely worth it. Chocolates are medicine for your mind, heart, and soul… after all. If you have been to other fine chocolate apothecaries, you’d know why they are priced so high! This place will hold a special place in my heart(for my love of chocolates) and my belly.

Sundays they have open hours until 4pm, but we have been there 3 Sundays & they have been closed! :(But as we were in the area we decided to check… and they were closed! But there was a lady there & I knocked and as it was 6 minutes before closing. I asked if we can get something and told her about us going there in the past. Her name was Amy and she was apologetic and very sweet. She mad us a Spicy Mexican Hot Chocolate, Dark Chococolate Cappuccino and we got a espresso truffle. All amazingly delish and the Best type of each we ever had. Will be back soon!

WOW. This place is just amazing. For those of you who wonder about the Unilocal reviews, the Mochas here are LIFE-CHANGING. One of those incredible little treats in life that you come across that set the bar moving forward. They use real quality chocolate in it and actually ladle it right in front of you. I have no idea how much it cost since once it was ready I just laser focused on the cup. I can tell you that it was worth every cent. The coffee is hand crafted by some local shop that the owner has always used and is really aromatic and flavorful. To try some of their other goodies we went for the Mexican and the Burnt Caramel with sea salt. I really liked the Mexican myself but the salt on the top of the caramel was really tasty. Quality chocolate that is hand crafted just adds a bit more to the experience.

Le Chocolat! I left rather impressed with this little chocolatier. I was on a walk and saw the sign from across the street, so I decided to give it a go.( ) The first thing I saw was an arrangement of chocolates behind a glass counter( ), but what really caught my eye was a stack of mouth watering brownies. I ordered one including a chocolate mocha with 2% milk. First of all, before I took a bite of the brownie, I learned from the friendly young lady behind the counter that the top portion was made from truffle and chocolate.( ) When I put my fork to it, there was a slight resistance which led me to believe that I was in for a treat, and I was right; the frosting was thick and rich with chocolate flavor. Quite outstanding to say the least. After my fork ascended through the thick frosting, it entered the moist soft body of the brownie.( ) The interior varied in color and was dotted with crunchy walnut morsels which added some textural fun.( ) The slice was simply seductive in nature. The 12 oz mocha was served with a small piece of 85% bitter true chocolate to help enhance the flavor of mocha or vice versa.( ) That being said, the mocha combined with the dark chocolate( ) was delicious and a drink to savor and sip. The young lady behind the counter was very helpful and knowledgeable regarding the products they make in house. I left being very satisfied and with a serious chocolate buzz in a good way of course. «Other things are just food. But chocolate’s chocolate.» — Patrick Skene Catling

Nice little chocolate shop across Slaters. Their inventory isn’t as expansive as say a Godiva and not as cost effective as Russel Stover. But good news, their quality is much higher than Russel Stover and not as rich as Godiva. This is definitely a neighborhood place and nothing more. I’m not a player in the chocolate game, but my GF is. She thought what she tried was good but she wouldn’t go out of her way to keep coming back here. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Neighborhood businesses are very important. For every See’s Candies, there’s hundreds of Carter’s Candies. But it’s the Carter’s Candies that help keep towns afloat. Chi Chocolat is a neat place to stop by if you live in the area. There’s room to enjoy your purchases inside and out. I’m a fan of their island chess set. One of the pawns is a seed. It’s unique…
