I have seen many reviews, which are bad and good, on Unilocal about this place. I decided to give it a try regardless. I came here with my friends on lunch time and had some good experiences here. I order the yakisoba noodles soup, a couple order of rolls, and sushi poppers. The soup is really flavorful and rich, the rolls are pretty fresh and go well with their sauce. And customer service is excellent too. 4 stars for the food and 5 for their service. Of course i ll be back to try more of their food and update other reviews soon.

I came here for lunch today, knowing it wasn’t going to be the best tasting food experience and I was okay with that. I mean, if I really wanted good sushi, I would leave Tierrasanta. By setting my expectations low, I couldn’t be disappointed, right? Wrong! We all ordered our meals pretty quickly. My Mom got a Bento box, our friend got a Shrimp Tempura Roll and I ordered Short Ribs(which the waitress confirmed came with rice). My Mom’s meal was supposed to come with a Miso soup. Of course, when it didn’t, we asked the waitress and she says, «No. Sorry.» two or three times and walked away. My Short Ribs may have been from a premature calf. There were very few pieces, a minimal amount of meat and unfortunately not quite as tender as Short Ribs typically are. The sauce was too sweet and quite thick. Don’t get me wrong, I finished the meal, it just didn’t satisfy my taste buds or appetite. Oh, and did I mention that it didn’t come with rice like the waitress said it does? When I had asked her, she tells me that I can still make it a combo… Ugh, I didn’t have the energy to point out the fact that SHETOLDMEITCOMESWITHRICE. Our friend gets her roll, which isn’t even the roll she wanted to begin with, but since she isn’t a complainer, she tried to suck it up and eat it. Sounds dramatic, but she gagged as she was forcing it down. Unfortunately, I thought she was being ridiculous, so I dipped a piece in my soy sauce and began chewing. 5 minutes later, I am still chewing. The roll was extremely bland. It was deep fried and the tempura was very thick. So thick that the outside was over cooked and tough and the inside was doughy. By far, the worst roll I’ve ever tried. We tell the waitress how dissatisfied we were and she says, «That’s the tempura roll. Sorry. Sorry.» We finished eating and she comes by to tell us that she’ll grab the check and asks if we will need a box for the roll, which we decline and repeat how unhappy we were and she repeats the same insincere apology for the 70th time. We receive the check and surprise, surprise, the sushi roll was included. It’s pretty bad when your customer comes with low expectations and you still manage to disappoint. Will not be returning.

This place is ok. Problem is u get salad and other crap that u don’t want cuz it comes w your order usually and u end up paying for it. Prices are marginal. Casual atmosphere friendly service. Would recommend edamame sushi on santo road over this place if ur in Tierrasanta. They have better quality sushi for the same prices. Wasn’t impressed the last two times I’ve been here so doubt I will come again

Better than Santo Sushi by a mile– they do not use mayo in their sushi as a binding agent. If I was only to review their sushi I would give them 4 stars. I have always been happy with the freshness and flavor. Their other dishes are it as good as I would hope. The meat is not great quality and seems over salted. All and all a good sushi place if you don’t want to go far from home, but stick with the sushi.

We met a group of friends here last week, so here’s the review. For 8 nigiri sushi, a salad, one large hot sake, one glass of white wine, one coke, and a dumpling appetizer the bill was ~$ 36… That’s all you need to know. You want cheap sushi in Tierrasanta? Dashor place… They’re not the best and freshest, but if you don’t mind simple plain décor, and if you want cheap sushi… Dashor place… ‘Nuff said

Unfortunately this place has really gone down hill recently. We decided to give them another try. The cleanliness of this place is questionable as is the freshness of the good. The last three times we ate there we got sick. Each time we couldn’t really pin point whether or not is was this restaurant. It’s clear this time it is definitely this place. Won’t get into detail but let’s just say we are both sick to our stomaches. Needless to say, we won’t be back.

The sushi is moderately priced but good quality. However, the service provided is at best, average, and depending on who you get, could be downright awful. We’ve sat at our table completely ignored for at least 20 minutes while we watched others get their food and drink refills despite the restaurant not even being half full. This has happened on 3 occasions and now I’m considering other local establishments to dine at instead.

This place has good service and quick to get your food to you but the food tastes very bland with no flavor. Only good thing here is decent price for beer.

The MOST disgusting food I’ve ever tasted! Their«fried rice» is merely white rice with yellow food coloring. With a very weird taste. They weren’t busy, in fact, there was only one dine in customer and myself ordering to-go. It was my first time there and my last time ever! The staff is just as bad as their food! Save your money and go somewhere else.

I love this place! The price is right and I haven’t had a to go order go awry yet. Everything always seems fresh. I recommend the Sushi over most anything else. The Miso Soup is good as well as the seaweed salad. Other favorites are the Charger Roll/Avocado Roll/Tierrasanta Roll

Well, prices are okay and the establishment is neat and clean. The service was exceptional, the girl who waited on us explained us some items in the menu. I was very pleased with the place and its people. However the food wasn’t that good at all. To us it was tasteless and the wasabi and ginger looked dry. Their food style is very different from other places and its just not for us.

New to the neighbor and tried this place out for some sushi. Not sure about the other food here but the sashimi 14 pc. was terrible. The fish is cut in the morning I was told(sliced or prepped) to me this is not fresh and it was apparent. The fish was watery, no flavor, and extremely grainy. When asked if I wanted a to-go-box I replied that I didn’t like it. The reply was sorry that’s how we do it here and I was charged for it. Like I said we tried this place and that was a «FAIL» I won’t return. My fiancé had a special roll that had little to no ell in it. So again sushi at Chiba II = FAIL

I’ve been going to Chiba for a few years(both the Stadium and Tierrasanta locations) and it’s always a good experience. It’s definitely Vietnamese owned(I don’t know if that really matters) and the menu doesn’t just include sushi – they have stir fried noodles and even recently taken out Phở(thank goodness). They also have Boba. I didn’t get to try it, so I have no judgement there. Though the theme of this place isn’t constant with the usual Japanese restaurant, the food is decent and the prices are great. Usually when I come here, I get the crunchy roll, stamina noodles and potato croquette. During today’s visit, my family and I decided to try many rolls: spicy salmon roll, spicy scallop roll, dynamite roll, smoked salmon roll, and the usual crunchy roll, seaweed salad and croquette. Overall, the rolls fell apart and it didn’t taste very fresh. But for the price, its a compromise. It’s just enough to get my sushi fix! Service here was great, as always.

If you’re coming for customer service, this is not the place to go. It’s a hit or miss. Sometimes the ladies are nice some others they are blah! Food it’s the same. Sometimes is really good, some times it’s not great at all. I’m a frequent customer because it’s close by and my kids like it. It seems the more I go, the more annoyed I get by this place. I took my kids two days ago for some sushi and wanted to sit outside. They brought the ONE plate with 2 orders of sushi and one plate for the soy sauce. Not extra plates or napkins at all. I asked for an extra soy sauce plate and she didn’t seem too happy. Maybe my order wasn’t big enough to rate napkins. But I will come back, I’m sure.

Convenient location but a somewhat uninspired menu. I can’t remember what I had, but it wasn’t memorable(good or bad), some type of bento box I think. The service was OK. Wouldn’t go out of my way to go back but if I was in the area it would be OK.

Friendly waiters and good service do not make up for mediocre to terrible food. The variety in the menu seems great, but when you sacrifice quality for more options– you get something more like Mickey D’s. And with sushi– that is never a good thing. This is what happens when you jam a korean, japanese and vietnamese menu into one. Nothing comes out right. The kalbi rice special(with fried egg) was disgusting, the noodle soups redeeming, and the rolls, whether fried, fresh, or sashimi were average at best. They also charged an additional .50 for spicy mayo after the first one. Never had this happen before and considering we were the only guests in there at dinner– it was a bit irritating in principle.

I was too busy on my phone as I was walking into this restaurant, so I assumed that it was a Vietnamese place, but it was a sushi place O. O My man brought me here cause he used to come here a lot when he was in high school. And he knows that I love sashimi lol thats why he brought me here. Place looked pretty clean, had some cute flower decorations and a tv on the wall. I ordered salmon roll(6 pieces) my man ordered two crunchy rolls. The waitress who took our order was very nice and checked on us several times to see if we were doing fine. Refilled our water before it even reached 1/3of the cup :) Our food was very cheap compared to all the other sushi places I’ve been to. My usual sushi place sells salmon rolls for $ 9, here was only $ 5. But the quality of the food is way different from the good places. Can’t complain since it was cheap, still delicious :)

I used to go to the original location in mission gorge a lot back in high school and college, and have only been to this location a handful of times. Tucked away next to a grocery store(Albertson’s?), they didn’t question me when I was dining for one(forever alone T_T). Already a plus in my book! I had the special cucumber roll, which consists of a cucumber shell fill with eel, imitation crab, salmon, and tuna. Nix the mayo, for an even fresher taste. I love the presentation and the cuts were pretty generous as well, considering this is their version of the protein roll. Their miso soup is pretty standard, and their house salad is iceberg lettuce topped with a citrus, ginger dressing. I wouldn’t say this is the best location for amazing, buttery, fresh sushi, but its definitely not as bad as sushi deli. I would even recommend their bento dinners of you’re looking for a entrée, as they’re decently priced and great portions. The interior is nicer than the original location, but the service is still quick and there’s plenty of seating inside. Parking can be hectic at the original location too, but there’s plenty of parking here.

It’s a-ok. Nice people work here. My grandaunt kept adding dessert after dessert to the bill after it was finally brought to the table. The waitress never once complained :) Food is decent, not delectable but decent(I’m kind of a sushi lover so I have my favorites). I took some pictures if you want to see. The bathroom is a little cramped for my grandaunt who is in a wheelchair, but they are kindly accommodating for her in the restaurant.
