I went to Chipotle at 11:05am today the staff was so friendly. The young lady that made my bowl was so genuine kind and funny. Thank you for yummy food & a smile. I think her name is Alexandra that’s what the receipt state but either way the entire staff was nice but the young lady that made my bowl was kind & funny:) Thanks

Ask for Carla if you want great food ideas you can’t think of, she was amazing, personable, and helpful, what customer service, and then Pablo Steps in, his customer service was just amazing, you don’t normally find this kind of service at a faster food place. go out of your way to go to this chipotle!

One of the ladies who I’m assuming is the Manager Assistant was so rude. She obviously doesn’t like her job. My girlfriend & I asked for hot sauce, mild sauce & corn on the side & she was annoyed. We saw it on her face. The other workers were very friendly, though. While we were eating we witness the same rude Manager Assistant yelling at this older Asian lady. She couldn’t really understand her, so the General Manager was yelling, «YOUWANTTHISONE!?» She was yelling very loud & talking to the Asian lady like she was a child. I really don’t know why this rude lady is a Manager Assistant… The food was good, though.

Been coming to this location for a couple years, and very satisfied. However food quality has been slowly deteriorating over the last year. It hit an all time low tonight, chicken and fajita veggies were burned and the rice and beans were soggy and it all tasted like some soapy dishwater got mixed in. I keep trying to give these guys a fair chance, sadly no more though. I would find another location, or there are plenty of great new foods spots nearby that are a better option. So long chipotle balboa location…

Really, these guys are great. I mean, the reviews really aren’t fair because I’ve been here twice and each time I feel like they go above and beyond to keep us happy. Granted, they’re still trying to climb out of that whole company’s Ecoli thing that happened, but I really don’t see that being an issue twice. Anyways, we had one of those coupons for a free chips with a burrito, and it actually charged us, so the manager gave us our meals free. Customer service was great, the place was clean, and it’s really not busy at all during peak lunch hours. Feel like the guacamole is so much better than i remember it, so get it if you’re ok with the extra cash.

Love Chipotle! I live right down the street and come to this location quite often. Today was an exceptional visit! Probably one of my fastest and most enjoyable experience. Caleb and Carla were on duty working very well together. Not only were they fast, accurate and communicating efficiently they were still smiling, happy and making good conversation with the folks in line. I was in and out of the door in less than a few minute, I got my burrito to go. My wait time was little to none! These two made my day better with their service and positive attitudes! Thanks Carla and Caleb for the epic burrito! See you again soon.

I ordered a Carnitas bowl today. The guy first gave me a very small spoon of rice. When he put the carnitas in the bowl he used this 4 oz cup to scoop the carnitas. The scoop was so small and they didn’t even press the meat down in the cup to maximize the meat. This place use to give generous portions of meat and toppings. Just like the rest of corporate America Chipotle wants to nickel and dime you instead of making the customers happy. I will not be coming back to Chipotle. If you want Mexican food just go to Vallarta Express at least they give you generous portions of food without charging extra.

I loved my experience here ! Alexa and Pablo were amazing ! Extra nice, helpful, and quick. They weren’t cheap with the toppings, huge burritos which was awesome :) I came in for a bowl, and for 2 burritos for a family that was asking for food in the parking lot. They hooked it up! Thanks Alexa and Pablo! You guys are amazing! I’m definitely recommending this location to all of my coworkers

«Check it out, mom, I’m eating a healthy 1700 calorie lunch. Locally sourced ingredients containing human fecal matter so you KNOW it’s good!» Before I rip this place, a disclosure: I am originally from Boston(aka Ground Zero for the last two Chipotle Norovirus incidents) and, when I lived there, we didn’t have a Red Lobster operate within 100 miles of downtown. The locals just wouldn’t have allowed it. In a similar vein, it is high time for San Diegans to put their foot down on Chipotle! Enough is enough. I decided upon Chipotle this evening because I haven’t been to one in years, and I wanted to challenge myself to see if there was a single redeeming quality that I could identify about this chain. Unfortunately, I completely failed. Chipotle attempts to produce«Mission-inspired» burritos, a style popularized by the delicious, foil-wrapped, steamed-tortilla burritos(further characterized by the addition of rice) one can find all over San Francisco’s Mission district. What Chipotle gets wrong starts with ingredients. The pinto beans and black beans are soggy and soapy, like those you’d find from a can. Where a traditional Mission burrito would feature a version of the venerable«Mexican-style» rice made with appropriate flavorings and color(e.g. caldo de tomate), Chipotle offers the choice between boring, steamed, flavorless white rice and brown rice. I’d comment on the the meat, but I couldn’t taste the carnitas I asked for in my burrito — there was so little meat and so much other«fillings» piled onto the tortilla that the meat may as well not have been there. Unlike a proper Mission burrito, Chipotle’s cheese is raw and shredded rather than melted in the tortilla.(Thanks Taco Bell for acclimating America to this!) The worst component, however, is the disgusting hot sauce/salsa, which had distinct notes reminding me more of Frank’s Red Hot than the Salsa Roja Picante they are seemingly trying to achieve(and arguably they have, but in texture-only). The hot sauce is a nightmare of modern chain-food engineering and further devolved the whole thing into a wet, sloppy, shitty mess. The next thing Chipotle gets wrong is the wrapping process. Burritos are dead simple to wrap. Yet every Chipotle I’ve been to has merely heaped their crappy ingredients into the middle of the tortilla and then FOLDED the burrito rather than wrapping it. Not only does this result in uneven distribution of ingredients, but it also creates a mutant-like burrito that is shaped like a square, oversized dumpling. Where a foil-wrapped burrito is supposed to be eaten vertically, it is nearly impossible to do so with a Chipotle burrito without rice spilling everywhere. I’m trying to figure out how Chipotle keeps their doors open. The cost of my Chipotle Carnitas Burrito($ 7.75) was actually MORE expensive than a Carnitas Burrito at any other of the legitimate San Diego burrito shops I’ve previously reviewed: El Zarape, Colimas, Las Cuatro Milpas, and Valentine’s. So unlike say… going to In-N-Out and grabbing a $ 4 double cheeseburger, you can’t make the argument that Chipotle is more affordable than clearly superior options. In summary: If someone LIVINGINSANDIEGO(especially those of you Unilocal«Elites» who gave this location a 5-star review) can explain to me why this horrible little chain remains open in our city, I’d love to hear it.

I really like chipotle but this is maybe my least favorite location. The people are not as cheerful and they seem stingy on ingredients. Most chipotles are stingy but when you ask for more of something, like grilled vegetables, they’re more than willing to give. Not here. Today I came in around 8:30pm and the girl actually put a scoop of chicken in my bowl… Then decided to take some out. It was covered in rice at that point… Why take it out when you already put it in my bowl? That’s so cheap. I was the only one there and it was towards the end of the day. Spare me that spoonful of chicken. Also, the chips have never been fresh. I like the Mira Mesa location much better. And this location in particular has so many better choices around so they should try harder to stand out. Not be counting pieces of bite sized chicken. Doubt I’ll be coming back to this spot.

Chipotle is casual fast food. It’s not supposed to be the most exciting culinary experience of your life. That said, there are plenty of things I like about them. — The food is über customizable — They don’t buy any meat with hormones or antibiotics — They have strict standards where they get their meat from and aren’t afraid to pull a product if their supplier doesn’t meet them(how many places can say that?) — They have awesome guac — They are«healthy-ish» — They give big portions Yeah there’s tons of sodium. Yeah the nutrition facts can’t possibly match what you receive b/c nothing that big is that few of calories. Yeah it’s not authentic Mexican. And yeah it costs too much for guac. But let’s be real, for fast casual, Chipotle is pretty solid. I only wish more restaurants could match some of their values and philosophy.

I mean, I love Chipotle… what else can I say? If I was rich I would be eating here everyday. The thing about Chipotle is that you can either eat really bad here, or eat pretty good. It just depends on what you get. :)

What an awful representation of the chain! I went in to get a salad bowl, they put in everything until they reached the lettuce, and THEN *the manager* told me that they were totally out of lettuce. I got upset and decided to leave without purchase, but he said«wait a minute, the lettuce is coming up!» Even though they indicated that there was none in the store. I watched a lazy«service worker» meander into the fridge, grab some lettuce and slowly chop it. Seriously, they were telling people they were out of lettuce because they didn’t FEELLIKE walking back there and cutting it up, that is all. No one showed up with lettuce, it was in the fridge. They plopped it on top and smiled like they were waiting for a treat for their massive effort. Also, I had to tell them 4 times what kind of meat I was getting, remind 3 people that I was getting fruit for my son’s kid’s meal, which didn’t even come out until we were half done with our meal, they«forgot» 2 ingredients from my husband’s burrito which he had to go back for and get it «on the side», AND the employees who were obviously not on duty(5 — 6 of them) were sitting around being rowdy and seeming to have a party that took up 2 tables in the very small dining room, leaving customers standing to wait for a seat. The manager sauntered over to the«work after-party» and made a gesture at me for being upset that I didn’t get lettuce for my FREAKINGSALAD! No, there was no offer for a free drink, a discount or a coupon for a free burrito even though they screwed up all of our orders, were rude, lazy and obnoxious. When I was leaving, a girl casually walked up to me and handed me a card for ONE order of chips and guacamole for the disaster we wasted $ 20 on. A further insult to an already terrible experience. I would never go to this location again(where CLEARLY the employees having a good time is not only preferred but encouraged over the customers being satisfied) but it makes me hesitant to visit the other locations.

Ever since I first had Chipotle(about three weeks ago), I’ve been a regular at least once a week! I just love everything about their menu and their food, from the ginormous burritos to their salads and bowls. I’m not a food critic so I wouldn’t know the difference between authentic Mexican food and whatnot, but this place just hits the spot every single time. I almost always get the Barbacoa Bowl with EVERYTHING on it… yes, EVERYTHING… brown rice, Barbacoa, black beans, grilled corn, guac, sour cream, salsa, and lettuce… I admit, it’s a little on the pricey side(I spent almost $ 14 on the bowl, a side of chips, and a drink) but to me, it’s worth it.

THEREVIEW: Back when they were making giant burritos(which is what made them famous and unique) it could only be argued that they were a bit on the expensive side, but everyone had to agree that their burritos were great. However, now that they have cut the size of their burritos down — and are also skimping out on the meat portions, they are now clearly overpriced. In other words, you no longer get a good value for your dollar here. MYRECOMMENDATION: Skip this place and go somewhere else. THERATING: Chipotle gets a 2-Star rating, because nobody likes to be skimped on the portions of meat in their burrito.

This is the place to go for quick healthy Mexican food. A big fat burrito usually hits the spot but lately I’ve been into the burrito bowls. Add grilled chicken and guacamole and there ha go! I’d give em a higher rating but last time in they said that they couldn’t make me a quesarito because there was a line. But generally the staff is great.

I am a big fan of Chipotle’s Burrito Bowls, not that I have any thing against flour tortillas, but I just like eating these with a side of crispy tortilla chips and using them to scoop up all the goodness. For the bowl I had it with grilled chicken, black beans, brown rice, corn, medium sauce, cheese, and lettuce( ). The bowl came with a good amount of tender flavorful chicken and with plenty of brown rice and a good amount of black beans. I was glad to learn that they cooked the beans well with a slight al dente texture and did not over cook them( ). The rice was well cooked and the chicken was aggressively seasoned, but good. The green salsa was perfect to eat with the chicken. It had a slight sourness to it and a very mild heat. It had more flavor then heat( ). I like I said earlier, I use the tortilla chips which you can buy for a little extra, to scoop up the ingredients. Good stuff indeed( ). Service was good when I paid for my meal. The girl at the counter was quite nice and had a good sense of humor. However, I did not appreciate the way the guy who put my bowl together just plopped the ingredients into the bowl and tossed and slid my bowl across the counter to the girl at the register. It’s food…
