WARNING! This place is a health hazard! If I could give negative stars, I would! The kid cutting my turkey sliced his finger on the meat slicer. I then watched as he talked casually about it to his coworker, let the blood run down his hand, and walked back and forth across the kitchen a few times before finally rinsing his blood into the sink inside the food prep area. What’s more– he did NOT clean the meat slicer before starting the next guy’s sandwich! On top of that, I tried to tell the other employee several times what I wanted on our other sandwich(literally, 4 ingredients) and she still made it wrong. I swear these employees were on drugs, because they seemed way out of it. Stay far, far away from this location.

Subs: 5 stars #13 and #43 is all u need, meat & bread grilled. The food is 5 stars! Customer service: 0 stars if i could. Employee almost tore me to shreds for saying«toasted.» With a thick nasty attitude she stared blankly at me, moved my sandwich onto the next veggie phase, saying«sorry we dont toast.» Well hmm… I just had it toasted by one of the employees yesterday so how did THEYYYY do it? my reply was… «Well how do u normally heat the meat and bread here? THEYLITERALLYJUSTDIDITFORMEHEREYESTERDAY!» «We grill,» she said in a very attitude ridden type of way, rolled her eyes, and took my sandwich back from the veggie area and slapped it on the grill. If it was my first time as a customer, I would have walked away thinking jersey mikes doesn’t heat their bread or meat… Which makes all the difference when ur getting an Italian sub. Some customers are too scared to respond to snarky comments, so I’m sure a lot of customers have walked away biting their tongue bcz they’re too shy or embarrassed to speak up. We didn’t need to go back and forth for her to understand I wanted my sandwich HOT. She understood that when I said«toasted.» She could have politely replied«we don’t toast, but I can grill it for you.» But no, she played ignorant and like the store had no means of meeting my request. TIMEANDTIMEAGAIN, the employees are all around rude, carry a nasty entitled attitude, and aren’t friendly. They rush you without any attempt to mask it at all. And like other reviews, I too have heard them arguing(at the register) of all places. It’s the only location near my house, so I’m screwed.

Service is fast and with a smile, the cooks are super familiar with the menu and can help you pick something if you can’t make up your mind, and the subs are all really good. I like to stick to the cheese steaks for the most part, which are all hot, fresh and tasty. They’re also located really close to Mess College, so I come here between classes if I’m hungry. Try the pastrami reuben with extra relish and onions. It’s to die for!

Sorry to see all the bad reviews because I’ve been here many times and have never had a bad experience, or witnessed any rude employees. Always a yummy sandwich here.

I love Jersey Mikes sandwiches but not this location. They screwed up my order again and when I called to complain the manager blamed ME for«not knowing how to order a sandwich there». Seriously? If we were back in Philly I might expect this but not in sunny San Diego where we have a more laid back culture and customer service is something you learn to expect and almost always get. Hard to believe they would lose a loyal customer(i live a mile away) and have an unhappy ex-customer trash talking about them over a ten dollar sandwich. I’ll make the drive further and just go to The Philadelphia Sandwich Company just a few miles further, great job Jersey Mikes!

I love my jersey mikes. But i had the worst customer service. The staff were joking with a co worker that didnt seem to be working. I ordered a giant and was handed a reg. Even afterwords the other half wasnt made right. Please Manager look at your film 02/02/2016 at 4pm

I decided to use my free Jersey Mike’s birthday meal which consists of regular sub and drink. In addition, I also used the BOGO free giant sub. I purchased a club supreme — Roast beef, turkey, swiss, bacon and mayonnaise. This sub was packed with meat they were not stingy. In addition, we added lettuce and tomatoes. This sub was delicious and well worth the price. Big Kahuna Cheese Steak — Grilled onions and peppers plus mushrooms, jalapeños and extra cheese. This was my favorite filled with meat and spicy flavors. If you don’t like spicy you may want to omit the peppers. I also added lettuces, tomatoes and mayo for another layer of flavor. I will definitely get this again. Grilled Pastrami Reuben — Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and Thousand Island dressing. This was my least favorite as the pastrami was to salty with very little sauerkraut however my family still seemed to enjoy it. Service was quick and staff was very friendly, I was told most of the staff was new and in training. They told us the favorites on the menu and even showed us the cuts of meat for the various sandwiches. With the two coupons this meal cost $ 15.07 rather than almost $ 40.00. Definitely worth using coupons.

I hate to have to agree with others who have panned the service — but you are unhappy that I ordered three giant subs? There was only one other customer in the shop. Then you guys are gonna disagree who does the order? And one employee walks away? Aaaasagggghhhh… I get better service when I’m back in NY, and a better sub, too boot. I don’t get how owners/managers do not try to keep their employees motivated and stress that customer service is important. Unfortunately, one of the number one complaints in SD in the food industry, and one of the main reasons restaurants/food joints fails. Sad, but I probably won’t be back.

LOVEJERSEYMIKES, but this location has had me driving farther to get a sandwich now. I see the employees arguing with each other, and not being able to get things done efficiently. Its sandwich making not rocket science. Saw one employee make a small mistake on a customers order,(it happens) and watched another employee tear into him like he was the lowest form on earth — she would not let it go, knowing he was sorry — it didn’t matter. If i was talked to by another employee she she was doing, the company would have a huge issue on their hands. That being said, I refuse to TIP people for doing their job. So when I’m asked how much i want to tip when paying with a CC, and the cashier looks at me with sad puppy eyes… I again remember, all you did was make a sandwich — not cure cancer. If the franchise doesn’t pay you enough, then find another job. I should not be responsible to pay your bills. Thats why you collect a check. Not all locations have this option when paying, which is why i will be going to others instead.

The service here is hit or miss depending on what time you go there. During the rush/busy hours, the service is okay and what I’d expect of a place like this. If you go in before the rush, the service is horrible. The first time I went there I saw one of their employees sitting at a table possibly taking a break. The others were in the back. I waited five to ten minutes for someone to come to the counter and take my order but no one did. The employee at the table seemed to ignore me. I walked out. Today I went in and all the employees were in the back. A second person came in while I was waiting and I had to call back and ask if I could get a sandwhich. The second customer left when they started helping another customer with a catering order instead of working on his sandwhich. In their defense, they couldn’t have started his sandwhich anyway because they cut their deli meat to order but they didn’t really explain it to him. They also didn’t even seem to care that he left. From the many complaints about the service, this seems to be a managerial problem. Still, I’ve had enough poor experiences to stop going to this location. Enjoy Jersey Mike’s… just not here.

Jersey Mikes is overall a great sub shop — I frequent many of the(many) outlets in San Diego. This one, however, happens to be really slow. I’ve been here on weekends and weekdays with same results. The cookies also vary widely between shops and this one is not high on my list. I realize that’s a silly thing to say but the consistency of the rest of the products from this business(even between franchises) is remarkably good overall.

The girl at the front was pissed the entire time taking our order with a weird attitude. She was even mean to the customers in front of us, that weird to see. Used to like this place but service sucked. Also she forgot my sandwich. She only gave my bf’s and realized we were still waiting she just said«oops» and didn’t tell us anything, and then started the sandwich after. Lol whatever. Just glad this ain’t the only location around.

Went in Yesterday. Manager recommended the #99(secret menu). It was awesome. Tender juicy cheese steak, with chipotle sauce. Lip smacking good. Definitely recommend. Crew was great as always.

First let me start by saying«I love jersey mikes sandwhiches!» This review is for this location and not jersey mikes on a whole. I would not recommend placing a phone order at this location. Twice I have had my order completed incorrectly. Only to find out at home. The first time, they DIDNOTMAKEITMIKESWAY!!! Come on now!!! The second time, they gave me the wrong kind of bread. When all you want is a tasty Sandwhich from jersey mikes and you don’t get what you want it sucks!!! I love jersey mikes and will continue to eat there. BUTDONOTPLACE A PHONEORDER at this location.

This location sucks. Tried a few times and not coming back. Definitely going to the PB location instead. Here is why. 1) I ordered a BLT. Bread is narrow, so it can’t hold the ingredients. Yes, you get less. big negative 2) cold bacon 3) Sweet tea isn’t sweet. 4) Casher always forget to give u your cup. I have to always ask. 5) Cashed never ask if you want to enter your membership number to collect points. I had to remind them every time. 6) even tho the chips rack is full. They don’t load the BBQ fav. Had to go to the back to get them. Just not that good of exp. I have to ask for everything.

I LOVE Jersey Mike’s, this is certainly not a review of the food — this location is horrible. We have tried to go here on several occasions, a ton of issues used to be going on and they’d be randomly closed throughout the day, and eventually my boyfriend and I just would go to PB. Well I decided to give it one more shot tonight, there were maybe 4 people in line and two employees — by no means was it crowded. The girls working barely addressed anyone in line, the phone was ringing off the hook — they were working on ONE order while 3 of us waited there to even be spoken to. While we were waiting the two girls are complaining OUTLOUD in front of us that it «feels like a marathon» and the other replies with«yeah, for 9 bucks an hour». Super professional and customer service centric. After about 15 minutes of waiting(not sure why I didn’t walk out when I first noticed their incompetence) I finally get asked what they can get started for me, I said Chicken Cheesteak and am told it’s going to be awhile because the girl has a «giant» on the grill. Pretty sure the grill was occupied by the phone order that came in while we were all waiting — which normally you’d finish the THREE people in line and then start those but whatever. Ended up walking out and will never be back. I actually hope those girls read this or are spoken to, I get the lower wage gigs suck at times but a little professionalism and customer service goes a long way. I’m surprised they even got hired in the first place.

When I saw all of these Jersey Mike sandwich shops popping up all over San Diego, all I could think about was the oversized Jersey ego, but to my delight this place delivers a solid sub or «grinder» as those of us from New England like to call it. My husband and I like to get the turkey with provolone and have it done«Mike’s Way,» which is where they add the herbs, vinegar and oil for the flavor. I would also recommend adding the somewhat spicy roasted tomato spread. The bread is crunchy, and you definitely should split the large one between two people. For a quick, easy lunch it is the way to go!

Jersey Mikes is ok in a pinch. My wife wanted a sandwich, so I decided to stop by here right before I headed to the hospital. Ordered a mini sandwich for her and a salad for me. Total was just under $ 15.00. Now onto the food… Sandwich– She got a Cali Club sub which has turkey, avocado and bacon. It’s her favorite and she gets it every time we go(lately, at least). Salad– I got the Number 13 Italian in a tub. They load it up with lettuce and everything else that should be on the sandwich just minus the good part(bread) lol. The oil and vinegar was good but I would have preferred more of an «Italian Dressing» or something like that. The salad was decent. Don’t know if I would get one again but it was definitely packed with meats and cheeses so that is a positive. Service was excellent. That is one thing I really like about Jersey Mikes. Everyone seems semi happy to be working there and they are friendly as can be. The food on the other hand, its just plain. It’s not fantastic and its not horrible either. It fills you up and tastes ok so that is why I give it a 3 star rating.
