This is my go-to grab a slice place. super convenient location close to my office downtown(it’s also perfectly located for post midnight drunk pizza cravings on the weekend!). I’ve also been in for a quick drink — they have this super cute, homey bar that still serves full alcohol. Last time I came in for a drink the bartender helped me find a new craft beer that I absolutely loved! He was so knowledgeable and made me wonder why I don’t grab a pizza and beer more often. Went here yesterday for lunch and wanted something a little different so I ended up getting their garlic parmesan boneless wings — they’re more like thing chicken tenders and they are AMAZING! Perfect breading to chicken ratio & a huge serving too! While I was waiting for my order to come up, I noticed they have a way bigger menu than I even know– pastas(chicken parm, lasagna, penne), subs(cheesesteak, meatball, and another I don’t remember), salads, and strombolis! I also took a picture of the daily specials to remember & the cashier mentioned that they also have specials on Game Days: Monday — Friday: Happy Hour 3−6pm, $ 2 off beers and cocktails & $ 2 slices of pizza Monday: free garlic knots w/$ 15 purchase, 50% off boneless wings(I’ll be back!!!) Wednesday: free slice with purchase of a local draft beer(8pm — close) Thursday: ½ off all 18 inch pizzas, pitchers, and beer pints(6−10pm) Pros: quick service, so many different varieties of pizza, friendly and knowledgeable staff, location, menu offerings. Cons: i won’t fit in any of my clothes if i keep eating pizza everyday.

Double check that they actually have your pizza physically present before you go to pick up a carryout order. Had to wait an extra 10 minutes for the bike delivery driver to bring back my carryout order pizza on a cold and windy day with my friend parked outside waiting. Yay for cold floppy pizza.

Awful delivery service… I live at the Pinnacle Tower and was offered a free pizza when I moved in. It was awesome and thought that I would just order from them. A week later I was ready to order again. I had a long day and didn’t feel like making the hike to the grocery store. I called it in and told them I was paying cash and change would be needed. The gentleman over the phone said that would be no problem. I get a call later from the delivery guy saying security wouldn’t let him up. Bummer but understand so I get dressed and come down to the lobby. The guy looks at me and first thing he says is he has no change. Yet if I needed it he could take my food and I can wait 5 minutes for him to get it. I felt like saying then leave why would I want food you’re going to spit in because you feel your tip isn’t big enough. I was so hungry and tired I just gave him a 50 percent tip. I was so angry because I don’t like being set up. Especially after a long work day… you are calling for delivery because you want a easy process. Not to be going back and fourth with a delivery guy. Especially when you mention before hand does the individual have change!!!

Taste: Great! 4 Price: Nothing too extravagant for downtown Atmosphere: 4 Service: 3 Right next door to Bang Bang, it was a fast and easy option for food late at night. I love thin crust, NY style pizza, so this was my jam. The ‘Big Sexy’ pizza by the slice with bacon, jalapeño, and pineapple was delicious. I can only imagine what a fresh pie would taste like. The house stromboli was good, cheesy, and fresh, but nothing to rave over. The craft beer selection was good, but too many IPAs for my taste. That’s San Diego, though. Overall, I’ll be coming back.

The pizza here is so good! You must try the spinach ricotta and the mushroom ricotta slices! I go here on my lunch a lot when I’m working and I’ve never had a bad experience, the staff is friendly and always seem happy. I love this place ten times more since they added the bar. Great beer choices. Awesome spot, favorite pizza spot in downtown for sure!

Ugh, this is not good pizza. I know that it is unfair to come from NYC and compare but that’s the way it is in the world of pies. I have had good pizza and you just can’t go back. I tried the white spinach and after warming it up in the oven, it was just dry and meh. $ 4 for the slices. The chicken BBQ just came out of the oven and that one was better. The beer in the bar inside seems to be $ 1 more expensive than when you buy it outside with the pizza. Okay place to hang out to avoid all the commotion outside, good list of crafts in bottles, very unusual beer/other drinks too(i.e. Mission Hard Root Beer?) Slow moving line on busy nights.

Great place for late night eats. I just wish they still made the philly late at night. You get good options to choose from as they have many slices on the rdy for a quick warm up before you grub up. The line can be a bit long so if it is. try to cruise to Berkley pizza cuz they rock also!

I went there to get a pizza and noticed there were hornets all over the pizza! When I went to tell the cashier she seemed to be annoyed and told me she didn’t care. Rude customer service + bug pizza = no thanks

Late night bar hopping? Clubbing with friends? Comic Con weekend? Hungry? If you frequent Downtown, it’s worth knowing where this place is. I always come here after a night at Bang Bang or for a quick carb-loaded lunch for Comic Con. Ciro’s has great pizza with about half a dozen rotating options and good value per slice. The pizza isn’t going to be anything worth raving about, but it’s great for what it is if you’re fiending for some food. Relatively quick service, but the lines can get pretty long depending on what is going on in the area.

I needed a quick bite before a night of drinking and dancing. You know, something nice and greasy to sit in my belly as the foundation, if you will, for the many drinks to follow. I had never eaten here before, partly because the idea of heating up pizza in a restaurant seems unappetizing to me. Looking at those pizzas all sad and room temperature-y in the display case… bleck! Well I am not too proud to admit when I’m wrong and boy, was I WRONG! I got the pepperoni slice with ricotta, because duh, CHEESE! Whoa… YUM! The crust was crunchy and there were large dollops of ricotta all over. I’m salivating just thinking about it! They have a great deal where you can get 2 slices and a beer for $ 11, so DOTHAT! It’s kind of a no brainer if you ask me! I didn’t have any issues with the service and I thought the pizza came out very quickly so I was happy and full in no time at all!

Stopped by after partying at Bang Bang. I was drunk and, from what I remember, the pizza was pretty good. LOL. That’s all I can say about that. I’m just surprised I actually ‘Checked In’ on Unilocal.hahahahaha

This place is really cool if your into pizza and beer. I think the pizzas are small here for the price that you pay but them again it’s located in downtown! Pizza is fair here I know they can do better, they juts have to play with their ingredients a little more.

My friends and I were downtown on a random Wednesday night with empty stomachs, so we wanted to eat before we bar hopped. Luckily for us, it was open til 3AM(Weds-Sat). It’s similar to that of Bronx where they have pizza already out, then they re-heat it in the oven. There are similar flavors and overall they seem like sibling restaurants, but I still like Bronx better. The slices here a little more expensive – $ 3.50. I like the vibe of the place. They played a lot of old school hip hop and underground music, which was really cool. The cashier was ehh, but other than her, this place was alright!

Okay, YUM. I got the Mai Pie(spelling?) and it was delicious. White sauce, pepperoni, pesto, and ricotta. The pizza itself was very large, thin crust. Better than Basic and Mountain Mikes. I do wish the pizza had more crunch though, maybe some peppers or something. So happy to find a pizza place I like! They sell by the slice too, and have a bunch of weekly specials. Now let’s talk about the customer service. ONPOINT. They were very welcoming and answered all of my questions, and we’re joking around with me, super nice guys. They have a bunch of beers on tap too if you’re in to that. Place is very clean as well.

So another recent review begins with«…it was a drunken night and we stumbled in». And she gives this place, MYFAVORITE downtown pizza spot, 2 stars. Are we to trust that judgment? I’ve been coming here for years with groups of friends, usually after an evening at Side Bar or Omnia, and have always been treated well– AND served a piping hot and freshly made slice. I’m from Boston– And trust me, Boston(and yes, NY) pizza is light years ahead of most of the cardboard and ketchup jobs you get out here in California. But there are exceptions. Bronx is one of them. But they’re a bit out of the way from downtown. So Ciro’s it is. Good, light and crispy crust(but not crunchy) and an excellent quality of cheese. Not dry, but not too greasy. Sauce is basic but good, and you can’t go wrong with most of the toppings. Make sure to try the pesto pie– It’s aces. The basic pepperoni is pretty strong too, and my wife loves the BBQ chicken pie. Whatever your choice, it will be heated up for you, to piping hot, in a minute or two(never a long wait, even with mobs of drunks passing out on the counter), and you’re guaranteed to have a nice place to go enjoy your newly gotten treat in peace– They’ve really worked hard on the appearance of this place, with great seating and a new bar that looks great. Great job, Ciro’s– You guys are doing it right!

Very good pizza & customer service! I love going there to get the buffalo chicken pizza. The pizza slices are a good size nice and heated for you. The garlic bread buns are addicting so watch out. It’s open late so when you get out of the club next door your taste buds are satisfied without having to look for a place to eat.

Small little pizza place tucked in next to a nightclub and other businesses along Market Street. What caught our eye was the neon sign saying«Pizza by the Slice». Turned out to be a great joint with excellent pizza and a full bar! We sat at the bar by the window and enjoyed a slice or two and people watched. A beer for my sweetie and a cocktail for myself… actually a couple of them. Pizza was some of the best I’ve had in San Diego, really fantastic! I also tried the garlic knots and those hit the spot too. It’s a really laid back place and the service mirrored. As we sat people watching and talking, along the bar at the front window, we noticed that there was a constant stream of people picking up pizzas and/or other food plus the delivery guys were keeping busy. This place was like an ant maze, it was bustling! Yet, still remained cool and chill in it’s atmosphere. 100% enjoyable experience. Wait, maybe 99.99% enjoyable, only 1 bathroom and it’s unisex… if you need to go, go before you really have to. I had to wait and was hard not to do «the dance» when the only place to wait is seen by all. But that was the only non-positive part of our visit. Great choice for a place to eat… dine in, take out or delivery! CHEERS!!!

I ordered delivery from here a few weeks ago after what some may call… a night on the town… needless to say we were home and hungry or some greasy deliciousness and were not«fit» to drive anywhere. #dontdrinkanddrive We called up Ciro’s because it’s a few blocks away and had heard good things in the past. I probably called around 11:00(Yes we were home by 11:00 on our night out, I’m a twenty-five year old freakin grandma). The woman on the phone was super friendly, and even though it was extremely loud on the other end(all the other grandmas & grandpas getting their food before they head home at 11:00 on a Saturaday) she was very patient and careful in making sure she got all of my information correct as far as my order, credit card number, etc. went. I tried to order several single slices but *TIP* was informed you can’t order slices for delivery. That wasn’t a big deal as we decided to just order a large pizza instead. We ordered a large pepperoni and sausage pizza and I provided our address and phone number. She told me it would be about 45 minutes for the delivery. The pizza arrived almost exactly 45 minutes later. I live in a gated complex and the Ciro’s delivery guy called from outside right where I had given directions for him to go and the hand off was super easy! The pizza was awesome! There was tons of meat, it was nice and greasy, large and the crust had the perfect crunch. We liked the pizza so much that we almost went back a few nights ago for a regular human dinner at 6:00, but ended up deciding to just eat at home because we are lame. Anyways, my point with this is even though it was ordered originally as a late night treat, I wouldn’t hesitate in stopping in for lunch and dinner on any given day! I definitely recommend giving it a try for any situation.

Awesome pizza! Reminded me of the nyc pizza I still crave after years of nyc life. Got the cheese slice, so good. It was crowded with a line out the door after the bars closed but they were fast with the service and we found a table in the back. The dining area was clean and large with t.v.s all tables can see which I thought was cool. My employer orders pizza for the staff from here often so I can tell you from eating plenty of pizza slices, it’s good and worth a stop sober or not, but Esp not…;)

Great pizza, but 2 stars for the shitty service. Don’t get me wrong, I would be grumpy too if I were serving hundreds of drunk people at 2am, but that’s no excuse to be overtly rude. Let’s talk about pizza. My buddy and I got 2 slices each of the combo and sausage and it was pretty good. The crust was nice and thin and the sauce to cheese ratio was on point. Not as good as my boys at Bronx, but damn good. Will I come back? Unfortunately yes, because the pizza is worth the crap service. Too bad I gotta knock me down a notch :( *Be nice.

Still a 3-star in my book, but a solid one at least! Ciro’s is like the lunch stop for at least one day every year we attend SDCC. It’s one of the few places that has a cheap bite to eat! Plus, the pizza isn’t that bad at all. I like me some thin crust pie. After a long day of walking what seems like 5 football fields, standing in lines longer than Disneyland, and spending 3 times what I wanted to on a Walking Dead figure… it’s nice to sit down for a bit and unwind with a slice. Trust me, after a day at the con, almost any non-convention center food is delicious. At least at Ciro’s it’s pretty darn good! Thankfully, Ciro’s still does a 2-slice and soda special for lunch. Even for SDCC! So it comes out to around $ 8 for any 2 slices in the case and a soda(which thankfully, is Coca-Cola related). On a good note, at least carrying 2 slices of pizza is lighter than carrying a near 3-foot tall Star Wars Shadowtrooper figure through crowds. The key to getting a better slice of pie at Ciro’s? Either order a fresh one, or luck out on a fresh one going into the case! Really. Ciro’s is one of those reheat pizza places, you know, for quick service you look at what’s in the case, pick your slices, gets thrown back in the over for a quick warming, then on to you for consumption. I know some of you don’t like this because it ruins the integrity of the pizza. Yes, older slices being reheated will probably turn them into chewy, hot cardboard that’s not so pleasing to the mouth. So, unless it’s a certain flavor of slice you just have to have, go for what’s newest in the case! The quick reheat will make those slices still thin & crispy, and the cheese still gooey. My faves at Ciro’s are either their BBQ Chicken Pizza, Buffalo Chicken Pizza, or anything they have with blobs of ricotta cheese on it. Fortunately I’ve lucked out each time with getting at least ONE of these slices each time I’ve ordered. Shake on some granulated garlic, oregano, red pepper, and parmesan cheese… lunch is served! Washed down with some much deserved Diet Coke. Or a beer if you’re really inclined. Pizza has improved from the last year I was here, dough was still nice and thin but crispier, toppings were more plentiful, as well as a nicer dose of cheese. Sauce was much more flavorful, and the ratios were better between sauce and crust. The service was great this time around, quick and courteous. Even told the guys we come to Ciro’s every year when we go to SDCC, and we were welcomed back! Ciro’s, see you next year if we’re back at SDCC! Save me a fresh slice!
