August 29, 2013 Attn: Owner Curves 3611 Adams Avenue San Diego, CA92116 Re: Membership Cancellation– Second Request Attn: Owner I emailed you months ago with– thinking my request was handled. I called to get your email from the business. When there was no response back– I assumed it was taken care of and the email was sufficient enough to notify you of my cancellation. After reviewing my bank account the other day, I noticed the $ 44 being withdrawn for the past several months against my approval. I do not access this account at all. I contacted your corporate office to complain that this was not right. How you cannot even respond to an email if you were not going to accept it as proof of cancellation. I live close by and could have delivered the hand written notice to you if I knew you were going to continue drafting my account. Shame on your lack of business ethics. Why is it that notifying you via email is not allowed as sufficient cancellation when it is coming from my name in the email: . This isn’t right. I am pissed off that this occurred and I will not be praising your business anytime soon. Effective immediately, STOP drafting my account for $ 44. And, I highly recommend that you state in your contract that an EMAIL is not acceptable.

I used to hate going to the gym. The machines are always crowded, perverted men walking around ogling women while they worked out, the smell of sweat and wondering when was the last time it was cleaned. All for a really expensive membership. Not my thing at all. Then a friend recommended Curves to me and told me about their free week where you can try out the facility risk free. After the first week and a Curves Zumba class I became a regular member. I joined this Curves about three months ago and I have been very happy with the program. They have the CurvesSmart key that you put in the machine to gauge if you are working out hard enough based on your individual specifications and exercise goals. Yellow flashing light? Work harder! Green flashing light? You are pushing yourself but be careful not to get winded. Stead green? You’re in the zone. They have fun music playing with a good steady beat you can workout to. You do one workout station for 30 intense seconds, move to a cardio station and repeat. You complete the circuit twice for a 30 minute workout with an average of 400 – 500 calories burned. Once a month you weight yourself and get measured with the staff so you can track your progress, like a exercise report card! For someone like me, I can’t go into one of those workout routines where you lose 10−20lbs a month. My blood sugar levels would get so out of wack it’s not worth it. Here I set my own goals. If I want to only lose 3 – 5 lbs a month that’s okay. I don’t have to worry about being pressured into doing something I am not comfortable with. When I do want to challenge myself they have a 30 day challenge I can sign up for. The staff(Yolanda, Jules, and Mary) are all very friendly. I have met the owner a couple of times and he has always treated me with respect. I actually look forward to working out because everyone who works here and the members are all very nice to each other. We are looking out for each other and rooting each other on, not in competition on who is the skinniest. Hours: Monday through Saturday: 7:30am-12:30pm; 4:00pm-7:30pm There are special CurvesZumba classes on Saturdays at 10am and Mondays at 5:30pm where a Zumba instructor comes in and we do dancing with a mix of the workout equipment. This is probably my favorite workout of the week.
