I want to thank Mark for his suggestion about using the programs on the True treadmill we purchased from Fitness Mart. We came in a few weeks ago to look at a mat for the treadmill and I’d told him about my frustration with not losing even 1 pound after walking on the treadmill pretty much every day for an entire month straight. I LOVE the treadmill and am glad I bought it, so I’m not dissatisfied with the machine. But I was a little surprised that I had not made more progress in a month. He suggested that I start utilizing the programs on the treadmill, specifically the run/walk sprints. He explained that my body was no longer challenged by the walking or even the jogging that I was doing, and advised me to use the run/walk feature on the machine to start interval training. I had looked at the run/walk program, but I didn’t try it because I didn’t think I could run at 6 miles per hour… I thought it would be too fast. I admit, I was intimidated by it. But I tried it after he suggested it and just manually lowered the speed at the faster interval and guess what? I lost 1.2 lbs. that week. I just got back from a two week business trip and gained some(more) weight so I decided to just go for it this morning at the full 3mph/6mph and I DIDIT! I ran the whole 30 min interval with no adjustments to speed. By the time I got to the last 3 intervals I was tired… it was different from doing a regular 30 minute jog… which is exactly how Mark said it would and should be. And I just love that I can push one button on the machine to do this. After we came home the day we spoke to Mark I researched interval training(I’m sure you can tell I research everything). Although I know what it is I’m somewhat new to the full advantages of it. With that in mind I just bought the Insanity Cardio Interval DVD(Beachbody) working off of the same premise that Mark spoke of and the results I saw by using the treadmill programs. I am so happy with my treadmill and even more satisfied that I bought it from a shop that is not just interested in selling you equipment, but is willing to assist you in using it to its fullest potential. I appreciate it.

After purchasing and returning three stationary bikes, I took the advice of our neighbor who had purchased his daily workout elliptical trainer and treadmill at Fitness Mart. It was terrific advice, since the staff at Fitness Mart truly are experts in high quality, durable exercise equipment. It’s well worth the trip off the beaten path up Santa Fe Street to find top quality equipment with excellent service. Most exercise equipment is drop shipped from China with horrible quality control, so skip the frustrating experience elsewhere at go to Fitness Mart. I’ve put 8000 miles on my Waters Tsunami cycle, and I would highly recommend it, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else to purchase exercise equipment. Bill Casper

Looking for gym equipment and ideas for your home gym? Don’t bother going anywhere else. I’m impressed with everything about this store. The customer service is great, there’s tons of great stuff for sale at reasonable prices and if it’s not on their floor they will order it for you. They ordered my stuff for no additional cost.

The owners are truly great people. My husband and I have been buying most of our home gym equipment at Fitness Mart for years … But after a situation today, I am convince that we will never buy any gym equipment from anywhere else ever again. They stand by their products and are very understanding people. Thank you fitness mart for all!

I have purchased my precor treadmill and precor eliptical trainer at Fitness Mart. They carry top quality products and are not biased towards one particular brand. They were not afraid to beat competitors prices. They also allowed me to use each machine without feeling sell pressure. You wont be disappointed with your experience. Their staff is very knowledgable and friendly.

Fitness Mart is where I go to get all my gym equipment. What I like about this place is they are always searching for the best product. If a supplier puts out a garbage product they stop carrying it and find a new, better brand. It’s nice to have a local performance equipment brick and mortar shop as I never have to worry about what is going to come in the mail because I can just go check it out in person and not worry about an excessive shipping rate. The big box gyms just don’t have the stuff they have at Fitness Mart. I have recently purchased Sandbags, kettlebells, medecine balls, foam rollers, plyo boxes, olympic weights and bumper plates from these guys and I am happy with all of them. One thing is that if you don’t know how to get there it can get a little tricky to find since it is on a frontage road next to I-5 just north of Pacific Beach.

I discovered Fitness Mart on one of my runs toward Pacific Beach. Along Santa Fe Street or Interstate 5, it is difficult not to notice the huge gorilla balloon lifting dumbbells. Yup, if you see this guy sitting on a roof, he’s at the Fitness Mart. Fitness Mart primarily caters to the gyms in San Diego and Orange Counties but they have a display area for more modest set-ups that you may have in your own home. This area includes individual weights, kettlebells, Bosu balls, bands, etc. The guy that has been there every time to help me out is an amiable Aussie(I apologize if he’s a Kiwi… I can’t discern the difference). He’s got all the answers and hasn’t been stumped yet. Fitness Mart may not be the easiest to find or the cheapest, but they’ve got most of the stuff to stock your big box or home gym.
