Stopped by here for a drink on a night out. Really nice place! It wasn’t too packed and the music was low enough so we could have a proper conversation.

The bourbon and blue burger is amazing! The pretzel and onion rings are also good choices. It’s laid back and what you expect from a casual burger place. The only complaint we had was the unusual cocktails-stick to beer and well drinks.

Went here for a UFC fight and it was just okay I probably wouldn’t go back next time. The white peach margarita I had was good quality and the food was pretty good as well however, it took a very long time to get the food. I would probably go somewhere with more waitresses and more food selection next time.

Tasty chicken fingers. I came here because the Unilocal menu said there was mozzarella sticks and I was craving them, however they have updated their menu and there are no longer mozzarella sticks.

The hubs and I stopped in for lunch here last weekend and had a really good time. While it’s note a huge space, it’s got a spacious layout and a good number of TVs. They were playing everything from NASCAR to MLB to NBA, which is great because the hubs and I love a variety of sports. The food was pretty darned good too. We figured the bavarian pretzel would be a good size, but that thing was HUGE! It was soft and delicious though! the hub’s blue cheese burger was awesome. My fried chicken sammy was fried perfectly and delicious. I know that people love their onion rings — and they were tasty — but the fries were awesome! Our bartender was super friendly, as were the other staff members. Will definitely be stopping in the next time we’re in the Gaslamp.

The staff is amazing, the bar is beautiful and airy, bathrooms are clean. That’s a pretty solid combo if you ask me… I haven’t been this impressed with service in a long time. Snacks are great, bartenders are knowledgable and definitely put their customers first. I can’t say enough good things about this place, kudos to the owners for hiring great people and keeping your standards high. Wonderful place, thanks for being a great part of our trip back to our old stomping grounds.

Went here on a recommendation and a had good time. Decent pub food, great old school rock playing in the background, and fabulous service(don’t remember the name of the gal who served us, but she rocked!). I had the Tavern Burger and it was a pretty tasty.

This is not the quad ale house. Even though the sign on the front says so. You have to go to the third floor.

I genuinely think this is one of those perfect spots to hang out with friends! Big screens, yummy burgers, cool layout! Last time I was there it was last Sat. March 12 for«Irish 4 a Day», the huge bar crawl organized in Gaslamp for St. Patrick’s Day. The whole staff is very nice, they took a good care of us and we had such a good time. Their Beer Brat blew my mind! Thanks Gaslamp Tavern!

I stopped in the Gaslamp Tavern, unbeknown to the evening an important UFC fight was going on Pap Per View, so it was not only crowded but also quite loud. I was able to located a seat at the bar by the outside window next to a couple who could not keep their hands to themselves, so I was able to get some close up entertainment. I ordered the Tavern Classic Burger made with an Angus patty, white cheddar, roasted tomatoes, pickled onions, baby greens, and a nice horse radish and mustard aioli spread lightly onto lightly toasted buttered brioche bun. All the ingredients on the burger were good and the cooked the beef to a nice medium as I requested, but unfortunately the Angus patty had no salt or any other seasoning. It was a shame because it was a good looking burger and all the rest of the items on the burger were very good. I was especially fond of the aioli which had great flavor and a nice creamy texture. The white cheddar was a great choice for this burger and was melted appropriately. I was a little annoyed by the baby greens, not that they were baby greens, but that they were cut into such small pieces which made them easily fall out of the burger. Seriously, most of the lettuce was on my place when I was finished eating the burger. All in all it was a good burger, but with the miss hap with the beef’s seasoning and the lettuce continuing to take a hike, I have to settle for and A-Okay. By the although they were hammered with patrons, the two ladies at the bar did a great job.

Burger Week. Noon Thursday. Quad ale house closed until 4pm. So Gaslamp Tavern is offering the Quad Alehouse burger for $ 5.00. Great burger. Good Angus beef patty. Along with pulled pork. Fantastic. Good bun. Pleasant friendly open air atmosphere.

We had a party of 4. One of the beer glasses had a crack in the lip. The chicken meal was undercooked. After having it sent back our party waited for an hour as this place became extremely busy and seemed like the order went to the back of the line instead of being expedited. Extremely frustrated, as our party sat and waited for a cooked chicken.

We thought we were in Quad Alehouse, and were very disappointed in how little their beer selection was. Once the waitress pointed out we were in the wrong location, we stuck around for some dirty fried and sandwiches. The sandwiches were okay, but the fries were PERFECT.

The dirty fries were good although I should’ve ordered them without onions and peppers. There are lots of TV screens, open air bar, and a lively crowd.

If you love a Moscow Mule, come here Tuesdays! $ 5MULES!!! Can’t get much better than that. They’re not watered down mules either, they’re properly poured. They have great happy hour specials for other days. The drinks are extremely affordable, especially compared to the Downtown area. We walked in here on accident, actually. We meant to end up at Quad Alehouse and didn’t realize we walked into an entirely different establishment. We ordered some drinks, the onion rings, and the fried green beans. First thing first, both the fried green beans and onion rings were EXTREMELY salty. They had some type of seasoning on them and it was almost too much. The sauce the fried green beans came with was also extremely salty, so the two didn’t really compliment each other. The onion rings came out looking super fluffy. At first we thought it was going to be a light, crunchy, airy batter, but it ended up being more like a dough. There wasn’t a crunch to the onion rings and the dough was pretty thick. It was almost as if it wasn’t thoroughly fried/cooked. The food was sub-par and that’s the reason this place gets three stars(two for food and four for drinks).

I love it here! We live just down the block so we visit frequently. Cheap happy hour drinks, specials on Wednesdays, and any time football is on. The staff is one of the friendliest I’ve experienced downtown. You can tell they take good care of repeating customers. Most of their appetizers are deep fried food(which are all delicious), so the only thing you can’t get are light snacks. It’s a great place for us to watch football, while having some half off apps and $ 3 beers with our puppy!

My boyfriend and I came here to watch Sunday football. We were on a little vacation and just walked past this place that caught our eye with the big, multiple tv’s and the outdoor bar area that allows smoking. We weren’t thinking they would have amazing food but we were so wrong! Within the 3 – 4 hours we were there for our game, we had the pigs in a pancake which were absolutely TODIEFOR! So delicious! We also tried the filthy fries which had pork, grilled green peppers and onions and a great sauce on top. Very delicious! Besides the great food and comfortable atmosphere was the best service from the bartenders. They were so prompt with every drink/food order and were soooo sweet/friendly! We were so happy to pick this spot and will definitely be back! I would recommend visiting the Gaslamp tavern for sure!

Great location and great food. Emily is an example of an attitude that a business should be proud to have on staff. Upbeat, patient and friendly. As a native San Diegan I’ve been everywhere and this is a wonderful place to people watch and enjoy.

Go to spot to watch sports and drink when i’m downtown. Bar tenders are nice and attentive and we usually sit outside looking in so that my BF and his friends can smoke. They do have heat lamps outside so its not bad to be out there for a long period of time. It is also a prime people watching spot if you are into that. I don’t ever order food so I would not be an expert on that, but they do have a late night happy hour and they recently redid the joint so everything is newer. Bathrooms are clean and smelled like vanilla last time I was there(strippers?).

Cool little casual spot. They have a lot of TVs for sports. Not a huge menu so it’s definitely better for cocktails or beers and appetizers. It’s really a great place to get drunk and people watch. Bartenders were wonderful girls very friendly. Had the filthy fries and cranberry and vodka and a Bud Light, but light was because it was on sale for three dollars can’t beat that. Filthy fries were damn good with a cheddar gravy smothered on top of pulled pork sautéed onions and peppers.

I had been to here once for drinks & appetizers. It has open windows on the corner street, great spot. My coworkers & I were here on a Friday at 5pm. It was busy with people at the bar and not too busy inside. We wanted to grab a quick bite to eat before heading to Shout House so we were limited on time. They got us our orders quickly. We were all impressed with the food we had. I guess we were just expecting typical bar food but our meals were great! We couldn’t stop talking about how good it was. Some had the burger & I had half a chicken sandwich. We look forward to returning again for the food.

What a cool place to watch football on Sunday! Food was great & the service was OUTSTANDING! A lot of really good looking people behind the bar ***meow*** Marshal & Emily were efficient, fast & personable. Also, I love Cali Creamin & they have it on tap. Two big thumbs up GLT! I’m so glad my favorite spot to watch the big game is FINALLY back open!

Sleek, clean, decent food menu, average beer selection but overall not bad. For a minute I wasn’t aware that I wasn’t in Quad Alehouse, which explained the lack of the extensive craft beer selection. They did still have some standard craft beers such as Sculpin, Cali Creamin’, Goose Island IPA, Coronado Orange Avenue Wit, St Archer White, Karl Strauss Pintail, Green Flash Pilsner and a couple other domestics. Honestly, that’s pretty decent for a sports bar but don’t expect any extensive craft brews or unique offerings, they simply have enough to keep most people happy. The«beer snobs» need to go upstairs… eventually I went upstairs. The place was pretty clean. Apparently it has been recently remodeled and it shows. Plenty of TVs, clean tables, and a nice bar all made for a great layout. Admittedly, I didn’t try the food, I only came for drinks but they have some decent beers for your typical sports bar and that’s okay by me. The food looked appealing, however. Service was on point, nothing terrible to report and my server was extremely nice, courteous and easy to talk to. So that’s always a plus. She did a great job. There’s nothing better than reliable service. Not too shabby if I say so myself. Suffice it to say, as far as a sports bar goes, this place is pretty decent. I wish their beer menu was a little more extensive on the craft side of things but they seem to be doing well on all other fronts and that’s admirable. If you want more unique craft beer offerings then head upstairs. Service is good, beer is alright, layout is nice and clean, I can’t comment on the food but at least it looks appealing. My synopsis is that the recent remodel has made this one of the better sports bars in the Gaslamp area. If you want to watch a game kick it here, if you want to drink a bunch of craft beer and have a view from above, go upstairs. Overall this place is good enough.

This place looks amazing since their remodel. The walls are lined with beautiful, large new TVs, with a huge projection screen on one wall. It’s a very relaxed, sports bar setting with friendly, personable staff who make you feel at home – in fact, lots of the old staff returned after the renovation was completed, so that tells you a lot about the quality of the business. Perfect for those looking for a nice, chill sports/neighborhood bar on 5th.
