Grace Care Management

I first met Cindy Hasz around 2005 or so, when I was a family caregiver to my Dad, then in his mid-90’s. I hired Cindy to assist me in overseeing his care. I was then a full time family caregiver, with no background in senior services, but I spent a lot of time learning about issues of aging, through various workshops and online resources.
My Dad had significant dementia, but his physical health was relatively stable. Cindy and I agreed after a couple of months that my Dad really didn’t need her services at that time.
I was so impressed with Cindy’s depth of knowledge and advocacy for elders — plus she’s an awesome person! We have stayed friends thru the years.
After my Dad passed in 2007, I went back to work. I started to work as a paid caregiver around 2008/​9, both privately and through agencies. I referred Grace Care to an agency I worked for at the time, and she and I worked on two complex cases (with no local family support) together. I also provided some admin support to Grace Care around 2010, as I support both seniors and entrepreneurs with my freelance business Jane MacKenzie Home & Business Support Services. We created a caregiver training manual and held an excellent training workshop.
I still provide support services to seniors and I am constantly seeing families who would benefit from Grace Care’s guidance. With adult children of elders far flung, and the challenges of hacking through the medical and insurance industries, elders need an advocate. This has been the most amazing group of compassionate care givers I have ever been associated with.
Fortunately I have known for quite some time I would be needing there help with the challenges and would not trust anyone else.
What could have been impossible end of life choices was made into a wonderful sharing three months experience.
