Really used to love this place, really DID. You can customize your wok made noodles w/veggies, meat, and sauces, as high as you can. Unfortunately they have officially put up a sign that says«please do not stackyour food like a wall to make a bigger bowl,» like wtf who DOESNTDOTHAT? The point of this place is to be creative with your food and also get the best bang for your buck! I lovedddddd this place i really did, but times have definitely changed! Gave a star for the nice bald mexican man in the griller; that my food and put extra sauces and garlic! Taste bomb. But definitely not the same.

Ordered noodles, orange noodles what the heck, tasteless and disgusting! Put hot sauce on top to try and add flavor. Nothing! Guess my plates going in the trash!!!

The food is great, but the portions are very small. I don’t think it’s worth the money. The people aren’t that friendly that work there.

I’d give give this a 3.86! I love there noodles and taste of everything! My only concern is that the grill dude seemed kinda irritated because I master stacked my bowl! What the heck! He wouldnt even talk. But still he grilled my stuff and I got two full boxes. Not bad for less than 10 dollars!

Personally, I’ve always been a fan of Great Khans. You definitely can’t expect much from a restaurant at the mall. It’s good for what it is, but they could use some work. Pros: 1. Low price. 2. Good Options. Variety of meat, veggies and sauce. 4. Large Servings. Cons: 1. Even with all that sauce, the noodles still taste bland. 2. I wish they gave a separate bowl for veggies because by the time I’m done filling my bowl up with meat, all the veggies are falling off.

Just okay, but what do you expect for food court food, right? They offer a decent selection of veggies, but they didn’t have some of the basics like broccoli or zucchini, which happen to be two of my favorites. I like Mongolian food because I control what’s in the food and I prefer to eat fairly healthy whenever possible; however, despite telling the server I didn’t want any additional sauce they proceeded to douse my meal in soy sauce. The noodles are a weird orange color, which in an of itself would mean nothing to me, but they tasted really plasticky and cheap. I guess for $ 7 we got fresh veggies and meat, which is unheard of elsewhere, but if you’re willing to spend a little more you can probably find better Mongolian.

Originally I was excited to finally find Mongolian BBQ in San Diego. Do you know of any other places for Mongolian BBQ? It wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t the BBQ experience that I’m used to. You typically fill your bowl with everything you need for your meal and then pass it to the cook. At this place you fill your bowl with only meat and veggies and the cook makes the sauce and adds the noodles. They didn’t have the usual sauce options for Mongolian BBQ. This place is the like Cliffs Notes of Mongolian BBQ. You get the idea of it but not the full experience. I probably wouldn’t go here again.

I was raised on Mongolian BBQ, and this place is garbage. I know, I know, I shouldn’t expect too much from a food court in a mall, but I’ve had a much better product served up at temporary locations(catering) and even at the Barona buffet. I will say that the price ain’t bad ringing at around $ 9.00, but for as seldom as I get to enjoy some Mongolian BBQ, it’s a sin for me to not finish my meal. Well, I sinned. Throwing half of that crap away was painful but necessary. Next time I’ll drive up north or out east where I know I can get my fix, my way,(as it should be) served up correctly.

Good service and the workers were really nice. We joked about a cucumber that was posted up about a foot from the wall. The food… I’m kind of scared of these orange noodles. Never seen them used before at any mall wok but they taste okay. It makes me feel like I’m eating stringy carrots. All in all the food is okay… nothing amazing but not bad either. Not sure if this is something I would spend ten bucks on again. I’m giving a four rating because while it’s not my cup of tea everything seemed to be in order.

Great Kahn’s is not great. After browsing the food court, Mongolian food appeared to rank highest on the palatable list. The woman behind the counter was forcibly ‘friendly’, while the looks on her face told a different story. I’m certain it all went downhill from the moment I requested a clean bowl from her…(There were old food particles in the one she placed on my tray) to my surprise: she took the bowl, walked over to the soda fountain with a white rag(my face expressed my fear knowing what was about to happen) and«cleaned» the bowl with the water from the fountain and rag! Unbelievably, she placed the bowl back on my tray!!! lol Ok. Let me try once more. «May I please have a clean bowl». She rushes to the back and brings back a few bowls, placing a different one on my tray. This time, to my dismay — the new bowl had a small piece of hair, what resembled an eyelash!(My daughter is urging me to just get a refund at this point) As much as I hated having to ask for another«clean» bowl — I had no other choice. I showed this poor woman the hair, she abruptly removed the dish. To make this easier, I asked if perhaps they could just use a disposable one?(I guess my ingenuity wouldn’t have worked with their«fill your bowl to the sky» theme. Of course, I didn’t want to take advantage of their food, I just wanted a no-fuss clean bowl!) She ignored my request. Moving down the line. We add our choice of meat and head on towards the veggies. I immediately go for the greens — and low and behold! I interrupted a fruit fly paaaaarty! WHAT. THE. F*CK. [ * a partial video is uploaded for your viewing pleasure. uh, displeasure. ] End result. I did not ask for my money back. Too much hassle. Especially since I already p’o-d the lady behind the register. My loss. On a serious note — the whole place is absolutely filthy. The floors behind the counter, the counter where all the food items are kept. The area where they cook the food — um, disgusting?! If you dare eat the food, I double dare you to touch the condiment containers! Those things have a million greasy fingerprints(my guesstimate by observation only), and dried up, crusty stuff all over it. Who knows, the sweet sauce might bring the right umami for the crispy fruit flies!

For a vegetarian, I’m sure this would be just fine. For those of us who like meat, this fast food version of Mongolian BBQ is kind of a fail. The meat(they have chicken, beef, pork, and turkey) looks as if it’s been freeze-dried. Once cooked, it gets the consistency of a dog’s jerky treat(not that I’ve ever actually had a dog’s jerky treat, but I can only assume). It’s tough, gristly, stringy, and terribly unappetizing. I’m not a big fan of noodles, so the employee was nice enough to substitute rice for my meal, but I still wound up throwing at least 60% of it away because of the god-awful meat. Also, since it’s cooked on the spot, allow yourself plenty of time for you to gather what you want and get it prepared. I was behind a family of three and it took at least 10 minutes for the employees to even start on my order. Not that 10 minutes is a crazy amount of time, but I just want to warn folks that, unlike most food court places, if you’re in a hurry this might not be the best option.

I love great khans. It is worth paying. There are no places satisfying my meat craving for $ 7 in anywhere~ last time i been to la jolla, but the staff made my plate and the portion was way less than i thought. I would definitely come back here again.

Growing up I the San Fernando valley I know good Mongolian and every Spanish bad word. The staff were going to town dropping every middle school word i could think of– Puto, verga, puta madre, chinga… all while cooking my plate and the other guy building a meat bowl so high it looked like a jenga tower. Anyway, food wasn’t good and the street slang was funny but hopefully not about what’s in my noodles.

I love love love this place especially at this location! Mission Valley Great Khan’s employees are extremely generous. Not only do they give us A LOT of extra noodles but they also advise us to push the food down to put more. Food is delicious and portions are even greater! Other Great Khan that I’ve been to are very stingy and would not let out extra items. At this location, they put our noodles on a separate bowl rather than stacking it on top of the food we just built like every other Great Khan. I’ve been going here for over 10 years and never had a bad experience.

This is certainly one of those experiences where I’m mystified by the low ratings for this eatery. Admittedly, I don’t find myself in food courts very often since I tend to shy away from anything remotely associated to being fast food. However, we decided to pop in for lunch before catching a movie at the local AMC. Wanting something semi-healthy, we gravitated towards Great Khan’s. Stir fry is healthy, right? I opted for their chicken special for $ 5.99. They give you a small empty bowl and you pile it high with as much chicken and vegetables that you can manage. Pile it high; don’t allow yourself to be restricted by the limited depth of the bowl, Tower it! Once you make your selections, you hand the bowl to the cook where he adds noodles and sauces of your liking. Huge serving of steaming hot noodles and vegetable goodness! I smothered my selection with chili sauce. Ridiculously delicious! So cheap, too! My special also came with a large drink. Bargain. I see a lot of hate for the meat being frozen. For a fast food environment where the customer chooses everything at his/her whim, I’d rather it be frozen then risk raw meat being left out at unsafe temperatures. I don’t venture into Mission Valley mall very often, but if I do Great Khan’s will likely be a pit stop.
