Terrible Customer Service. They had site error, so when you tried to put in a coupon, it would give you an error, but actually completed the transaction. So I ended up having two orders. I told them about it right after the transaction via email and said please check to see if there is a duplicate order on the system. They replied that they did not have a duplicate order but then sent me 2 phones and charged me for two phones. I just spent 45 minutes on customer service line sorting this out. I asked them to send me a pre-paid shipping label. They flat out refused. Told me that I should have not only emailed them, but also called them! Never admitted that they were at fault both for the site error, for not checking properly for the duplicate order before sending as I had asked. Unbelievable! The phone is for my elderly dad, but if I knew of another option I would never have done business with them. Their customer service dept can use a lesson in accuracy, curtesy and… Service!

Terrible, terrible customer service. I’ve been waiting for a week to port my dad’s phone number to another carrier, and Great Call keeps declining and then saying that they need one more piece of information. I think that they’re stretching out so that they can keep charging for the phone line. I can just imagine a 94 year old trying to deal with this. Stay away from this carrier.

This is the worse phone for a senior citizen. They turned off my mother’s phone because she forgot the pay the bill because she moved and forgot to change her address. I called and gave them a credit card to try and turn it on again. They said they would, but they did not. I called days later and they said, they won’t believe I am a real person and therefore will not allow any changes to the account. They asked for the account password. As far as I know there was never any password and if there was she would not have remembered it. They asked for her address to verify, but she moved and did not update that. I gave the new address, but I guess that did not satisfy them. I tried the social number, the would not take that. I wasted hours of my life trying to get the phone turned back on.

I live in Los Angeles, CA. I couldn’t find anything for our area, so I am writing here. My mother is 94 years old. She is very intelligent, but she is 94, so I help her with things such as phone service. The customer service for GreatCall is simply dreadful. Each person within the customer service department will tell you something else. Not only that, in our case we purchased a phone on May 8th, 2014. Two weeks later a new phone came out with a one button 5star system. The old system has a senior press three buttons, one for 5, one for star, one for yes before they get emergency help. In other words, my mother would have had to remember this DURINGANEMERGENCY. It was only because of a fluke with a pleasant but otherwise inept customer service person that I realized that Greatcall just released a new one button system. I had to make several calls to find out about this new phone. Each customer service person was less trained than the next and very rude. One guy said to me «what’s the big deal that she has to press 3 buttons — she can remember 911 can’t she?» Another guy said to me «lady, you are simply not listening to me.» That was it for me. I asked to speak to a supervisor and after waiting 30 minutes no one came back on the line. This company should be reported to the Better Business Bureau. They are dealing with elderly people, who do not process info like a 30 year old. Additionally, most of their service is add-ons and when you add them up cost more than a regular, reputable company such as Verizon. And finally, we are dealing with my mother’s life here. Does anyone have any other ideas how I can report this horrible company?

GreatCall… not so great. I think this company takes advantage of seniors in the worst way. My in-laws kept receiving notices even after their account was cancelled(they hadn’t used the service in months). The most recent notice they received was a threatening letter about contacting a collection agency. I spoke with two reps who were of no assistance at all. I would avoid doing any business at all with GreatCall.

There is so much wrong with the JitterBug Plus I can’t warn people enough: the phone’s display of «used» minutes could be way off the computer listing; the sound buttons are located where you constantly hit them accidentally; you can’t use the camera’s photos without paying extra for email use; the only options you get are sound and a color behind a boring screen(no images); you must call Great Call to find out how many minutes you have left on your monthly plan; etc. etc. NOTWORTH $!00 – the cost of this phone is for the 24⁄7 live person you get to talk to – period!
