Influx is a great place, whether you are just sitting or simply studying. I recommend Influx

This coffeehouse is in a great area and parking isn’t horrendous as you can find street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. Got the Vietnamese coffee and it was good. The girl making the drinks was super sweet, while the bald guy with tattoos working the register wasn’t the nicest, but whatever. Overall, a great place to grab coffee and study. Tons of plugs everywhere and lots of outdoor seating also. Great on a sunny day.

I can’t quite explain why I am only giving Influx 3-stars but I just felt like it didn’t quite deserve 4 stars. They have a good chai latte but I don’t find the environment to be as nice some of my other favorite coffeeshops. I think one of the biggest downfalls is I feel like they don’t have as much seating as they could and so it can be difficult to get a table. Their prices are pretty reasonable overall and the place has a modern feel to it. Usually people are working here and it tends to be quieter than some other coffeeshops I go to. I have never had a bad experience at Influx but nothing about it stands out to me.

This place is next to my house. I come here often. The coffee is great, the baked goods are fresh and made in house. I think… the line has never been too incredibly unbearable. I seem to bounce back and forth from the Oatmeal and the yogurt granola…: Happy to live next to here.

The coffee is meh. I was surprised because the beans are locally roasted and there are so many good roasters nearby. However, the turkey sandwich was an excellent choice for the size and price. The foccacia bread was fluffy and salty. The innards were fresh. We would come back for the food. Influx is a wonderful spot for reading quietly and working. However, when we visited, there were two sets of music being played at once – one behind the counter, one for the public area. The two sets of music proved distracting and cacophonous. I’d suggest turning off the music behind the counter or lowering the volume so that the customers can’t hear it.

Located between Modern Times and Underbelly– small little sandwich shop. They have a variety of different sandwiches and salads and«croissants» but come to find out, the«breakfast» items that are supposed to be served all day usually run out by noontime. I got the salad which wasn’t half bad but I thought it was pretty pricy for the size, probably should’ve gone with a sandwich but be careful– a lot of the options might not be available. I dunno, to me, if you’re going to say that something is going to be served all day, you should make enough of it to be served all day and not just part of the day. It was mentioned to me that most of the breakfast stuff runs out by noon– so why not just say that breakfast is served only in morning time? It’d be a lot less disappointing for everyone.

Friendly people good food selection nicely prepared. Wish they would toss a pickle or something in with the sandwiches however. Still gets five stars for good management and excellent personality.

Did not like this location. The tall hipster guy working the register/bringing food scowled the whole time, didn’t say thank you, or make any attempt to interact like a decent human being with any of the customers. Ordered a breakfast croissant with coffee. The croissant was greasy and nothing like the beauties baked across the street. Asked for Jack cheese, got Swiss. Dead flies in the window and the succulents at each little table were dying. Wow, really? Takes a lot of neglect to kill plants like that. Obviously no general care for this location. Will not be back. Go to Cardamom café for MUCH better service and quality of breakfast.

Really cool place, good bagels, I paid $ 12.34 cents for a veggie bagel that comes with tomatos, cucumbers, and onions, that’s it, and I told them to add turkey, and a cup of orange juice that they poured in front of me out a gallon bottle, but it was great

Come here if you want a strong ice cold coffee… After a friend’s referral… I finally came to discover Influx on Monday night for a study break, it was pretty empty. I guess Monday night football left it empty… anyway I digress. This coffeehouse was clean and simple. I gazed at the menu I saw that they were a lot of food choices with sandwiches and salads. They sell kombucha as well. I was disappointed because the blender was broken and I wanted to try this drink drink that had the influx brownie… sounded yummy… oh well. My experience was a bit odd, we came in around 7pm and they were already wrapping the desserts up and cleaning up, when they closed at 9pm. 1. I wanted to order something sweet later, however the desserts were gone out of the lighted window. 2. I also felt rushed Like I was running against a clock. Other than that, it was a clean establishment and the bathrooms are outside behind Influx. You have to have a key. The women’s br was spotless. i would come here again, if it was this empty like Monday night. There were about 7 people inside and about five people outside. The outside patio is connected to the neighboring restaurant. All in all three stars.

Out of all the coffee places in San Diego, especially north park… This place is pretty disappointing. I’ve been here three times, and out of those three times, the coffee was not up to par. Let’s start off with the pros, –the interior spaces is very hip! I love their wooden details and pop of color –the workers are fairly friendly –the environment is prefect to do homework in –pumpkin muffin was great! Cons: — the hot white mocha was watery, barely tasted the coffee –I’ve been warn several times by the Vietnamese coffee here but I went ahead and tried to get it. Very disappointing… Being Vietnamese and practically growing up with this drink I think I’ve had a fair share of how it should taste. This drink is way too bitter. Vietnamese iced coffee is suppose to have a balance between sweetness and bitterness. The bitterness was overpowering and did no compliment the drink. My Vietnamese friend had one too and she was very disappointed in it as well. Also when I was asking for more condensed milk, the worker was explaining to me that he need to mix it with an expresso if I wanted more… Hmm no you don’t… There isn’t even expresso in an authentic Vietnamese iced coffee? Overall a decent experience, I would come back to try something else but I was not impressed with what I had seen.

I think… I think… we’re turning into hipsters! We needed some nom noms before our trip to the zoo so we wandered into Influx. Why Influx? Because starbucks is sooo mainstream. I was bummed that I couldn’t hook up to the wifi. My eyes were probably failing me in the morning, but I didn’t see the password posted. *hipster sigh* I ordered the gluten free bowl because it was the only breakfast with yummy leafy greens. California’s need those leafy greens in every meal! Spinach FTW. The coffee was hot hot HOT. Everyone was really nice. I could definitely see myself bouncing back and forth between this place, modern times and underbelly.

I’m definitely disappointed in the service that I have received today at Influx. I’m not sure why I’m paying over $ 3(plus a 10% tip) for a cup of hot water, but that’s what I’m getting. I ordered a chai tea latte, which is my go to at all coffeeshops that I study at, and today at Influx was no different. Except no matter what I tried to do to get the drink I wanted, it wasn’t coming out right! Normally chai tea has a nice spicy flavor to it, but this one did not. Then, when the barista said he would make it again and steep the tea longer, I figured this would help, but it didn’t, it still tasted like hot water. So, I brought my drink up again to discuss it with him and then he suggested that I try a chai latte instead and then proceeded to ring me up for another drink, this one over $ 4 even though I did not like my first drink. What the… Then when I complained about him charging me again, he said that this would be the third drink that he would have to make for me, but then wasn’t going to charge me because I complained. Then he asked me if I still wanted the chai latte, but in a tone that I did not take very well. I took a deep breath, really thought about it, then decided I didn’t want to deal with it anymore, nor did I want this other drink. I’d be giving this place 1 star if it were only this interaction, but the place itself has nice seating for doing work, free wifi, and good lighting… so what could have easily been a 4 star review is now a 2 star review. 1 star for service 1 star for the drink 4 stars for the atmosphere 2 stars overall Update: Since posting this review last week, I have received 2 separate«compliments» from Unilocalers(I won’t «out» which ones), who proceeded to tell me that it was my fault that I didn’t know what drink I was ordering. I would like to let those of you Unilocalers out there who read my reviews to know that I order Chai Tea Lattes at other Influx locations as well as other coffeeshops, so I believe I know what I was ordering. In addition, I was not the only one who tried my drink before I went back to the barista with my order because I didn’t want to be «that person» that wasn’t satisfied with the drink. So, while the personal attacks on my ability to order a drink shouldn’t influence you(the reader) to patron this establishment, I will take my «basic» money elsewhere.

Stayed in North Park for the weekend and Influx was right down the street. Coffee was good, but no wow factor. Bagel scramble sandwiches were excellent. They could lose the coffee-snob attitude though. It’s uninviting and such a turn-off…even if it’s just from one employee. Everyone has different preferences on how they like their coffee, so snarky negative remarks in a condescending tone, like«that’s gross,» should be kept to yourself. Most establishments will make comments behind a customer’s back. not in front of them. Don’t sit outside unless you want your food to be attacked by flies.

Influx has hands down the best coffee in San Diego! I am here literally every single day studying for the CPA and I can’t think of a better atmosphere. There are so many people doing work around you that it keeps you motivated to do your own. There is ample seating, both inside and outside. The food, specifically the Kale salad and the Mozz 1 on focaccia, is delicious and worth every penny. Everyone who works there is extremely friendly and they are very efficient. If you’re looking for a great place to hang out, write a novel, study for exams or simply enjoy a latte, this is the place!

Nice place, but not for coffee. I don’t care for this building in this location at all, but it’s surprisingly nice in here. I like the interior, menu and the staff was exceptional. I came in just wanting a cold brew iced coffee to go after lunch. There’s was very acidic and was one of the worst cold brew coffees I’ve had in some time, or ever. Gonna give a regular iced coffee and regular coffee a try. I’m very curious if it’s just their cold brew that’s off. Got to imagine it was an off day or something wasn’t done right this one time due to all the great reviews.

I do really enjoy Influx. I’ve had a blueberry muffin before but I am trying to branch out and try other things because their menu is huge. Today I tried a croissant and jam. My only complaint is that it was enough jam. It probably was a normal size for normal people but I’m a jam freak. I always want more. I also drank an iced caramel latte.

There’s not a whole lot that I can add. I’m pretty sure I’ve reviewed the other Influx locations in town(Little Italy and Golden Hill), and this one is pretty similar to the others. Ridiculously good-looking baristas? Check. Consistently refreshing but watered-down blood orange iced tea? Check. A strong wi-fi signal? Check, check, and triple-check. The main selling point of this particular Influx location is that it’s right next door to Underbelly. That means you can meet up with your friends here and figure out your ramen orders in advance, unlike *certain* people who hold up the line at Underbelly because they wait until they’re already at the cashier before bothering to look at the menu and deciding which ramen to order. Nobody likes an indecisive ramen-orderer.(/end rant)

Swung by this location after a delicious dinner at Smoking Goat(across the street). This general area is quickly expanding. It was a pleasure to go from one amazing dining experience to a cute, well lit café across the way(next to Underbelly). with two handsome fellas with glowing smiles. We came close to closing(about 20 minute before closing). but they still welcomed us in, joked with us during our indecisiveness, and made some delicious lattes. If I lived in this area, I’d probably come by to hammer out some work with a little something sweet and nice to drink. Although we didn’t try them, the desserts looked über tasty. They use Café Moto — and you can tell it’s quality coffee. I just really appreciated the service, the drinks and having a nice little spot to chat with my gal pal before calling it a night. Definitely recommend and would return if in the area.

First impression? Neat, ample seating and full of good looking people. Let’s face it, the place is borderline obnoxious, but what do you expect from one of these super trendy places that make up the building blocks of Northpark’s newest, poshest, urban living development? The coffee is good and locally brewed by Café Moto. I got the Ethiopian blend. It was dark and creamy and kicked me awake pretty good. There’s a full menu: Fresh baked pastries, sandwiches, salads and a list of bagels with all the fixins. There are plenty of options for vegetarians, of which I am not, but my boyfriend is. I’m always looking for a good place to work because, let’s face it, when you work at home you can become an unsocialized, feral being and it’s important to get out and be human as much as possible. Influx keeps the music at an easy level. The real time rotation I’ve been suject to: Beirut, Chromeo and the Beatles. Totally doable. It’s a nice place to work alongside other intently working people. Before the days of my boyfriend and of Tinder, I could imagine spying a handsome young buck from beyond my macbook pro here, packing up our laptops and drifting to the bar next door(Modern Times) for a brewski.
