I like Jin Music Studio because its super casual and BYOB. Sometimes its just easier and cheaper to bring your own ;) There is plenty of parking available too! Thats always important. The music system they have is easy to use. My main complaint would be the song selection for English. The selection is small compared to the asian selection.

Three words: Simple. Clean. KPOP! We went to Jin Karaōke last Saturday! I tried to book at other karaōke spots but they were all full so this one was a shot in the dark. I didn’t know what to expect and I was hoping that everything turned out ok. And it did! To start off, this place isn’t much to look at. It’s very simple and a bit dated but I mean, are you there for the décor? The reason I chose Jin Karaōke is because we were looking for a place with KPOP karaōke. To all the KPOP fans in SD, THISPLACEHASKPOPKARAOKE! They’re the most up-to-date that I’ve seen and the last time they added songs was fall 2015. Not too shabby! This is now my go-to spot for when I need to sing KPOP karaōke. The best selection, hands down. Just let them know you want KPOP and they got you covered. Please be aware! If you go for KPOP Karaōke, the books and karaōke are in Hangul. No romanization at all. My friends and I managed like we do normally. Mumble along with the Korean and belt out the English verses. You can search in English on the screen with the remote and the management has provided tabs on the remote to help you search for it in English. Just ask the person in charge if you’re confused at all. They’re more than happy to help out. Also, they do have the music videos playing in the background but they do not match the song that is being sung. For example, we were singing Fantastic Baby by Big Bang but the video for Bang Bang Bang was playing in the background. Not a big deal. Just a side note. The only downside is that Jin doesn’t offer any refreshments or food at this establishment. They had some for sale at the counter but not included in the room. We found this out the hard way halfway through our session, dying of thirst and running to the Boba shop next door for quick relief. But now that I know I can bring in my own food and drink, I’ll be more prepared next time. Sorry for such a long review. I don’t normally do this but I had to let everyone know about the KPOPKARAOKE! There is so few in San Diego so I am very happy to know that we have at least one that does the job.(Parking is horrible here, as it is along Convoy so be prepared to park on the street and walk to this place.)

Came here last weekend with a small group of people after hitting up Infini Tea. This little karaōke joint is right next door(to Infini Tea). I couldn’t find this exact business(by name) in Unilocal to check in. It pulls up Jin Music Studio, but the sign out front says Jin Karaōke. The address matches however, so maybe they had a name change? Interestingly, we saw«Club Legend» next door and quickly Unilocaled it to see what that was all about. We quickly decided that we weren’t about that Club Legend life and turned our attention back to Jin Karaōke! We walked in and the place was poppin! We could hear people(most likely drunkingly) singing their azzes off from different rooms! We looked at each other with the«it’s on /we’re so doing this» and had the employee grab us a room. The room we got could have probably fit 6 – 8 people. The equipment was relatively straightforward. Mics both worked and we had no issues with the remote, television, or anything else. They have a huge selection of music in various languages: English, Japanese, and Korean. I’m pretty sure I saw music in Cantonese, Mandarins, and Vietnamese as well. Regarding how current the music is, I can only comment on the music in English. The songs aren’t current, but they did have popular music that is 2 – 4 years old and older(Adele, Bruno Mars, Green Day, Usher, Eminem). They also have the standard karaōke joint older hit music(Beatles, Queen, Journey, Jackson 5, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, and much more). So this joint looks like it could use a facelift. I’m no expert in karaōke equipment, nor can I carry a tune to save my or anybody else’s life. Place is a little pricey $ 30/hour for a small room)… but split between a group and it’s not too bad. Happy hour price is $ 15/hour. My rating is mainly based on how much fun we had here… we had a blast.

This place is an OK alternative for other karaōke places in the area, but I would only go here if I really was really desperate to karaōke. The prices are expensive for the experience. The place is old and is in dire need of renovating. The song choices also reflect the age of this place as they do not have many recent songs. The place does not seem to have AC so it can get quite stuffy if you have a lot of people in your group.

Decent music selection and the guy who worked there was really nice and helpful. Although the machines were a little confusing because it was all in Korean, we eventually got the hang of it and had a really good time. I think $ 30 and hour is a little too much but if you come in groups, it could be split.

i like you… but you gotta put up the right address so people can find u~ honestly. $ 30 an hr was a little steep especially to sing songs from 2013 and older. but the sound system wasn’t too bad~ i had lots of fun so what the hay~ the attendant guy that night was super nice~ he came outside and opened the door for me n my gf and made sure we weren’t chugging soju on an empty stomach lol what a gentleman~ he gets one star to himself! so yeah, it’s an alright spot– would’ve been a lot better had we known it’s BYOB prior.

This place is so outdated and ridiculous that it ended up being one of the best late-night decisions of this past year. Yes– the rooms are small, maybe fitting 8 people. Yes– only a few pages of songs are in English, but if that doesn’t float your boat, you can chose from Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese. Yes– only half of the mikes work, and some of the remotes don’t work, but the little old lady who works here is always happy to get you a new room. Yes– horribly awkward Korean music videos play while you croon, including one loop of a chipmunk eating nuts– excellent visual accompaniment to ‘Gangster’s Paradise’, I must say… The good news? You can bring in your own food and drinks and sing as loud(and as badly) as you can stand for $ 35/hour. That’s five stars in my book!

GOODTIMES! If that’s what you’re looking for, then go here. Their rooms might be a little dated, but I can overlook that given the price and experience. My friend and I have a blast whenever we come here. We always see the same little old lady running the place so I assume she owns it. She might not seem nice, but she’s pretty cool. You’re allowed to bring your own food and drinks into your room. If you don’t, there’s a little snack stand and drinks fridge in the front. I’ve heard of it getting busy here, but I’ve never been here during a time where I actually had to wait for a room. We usually go late at night, after dinner time. This place offers songs of many languages. I’ve seen English, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnam. So definitely get your Asian Pop on! ~*~ Gee Gee Gee Gee Baby Baby Baby ~*~

i always go to this norebang with my student org. most everyone is japanese and the rooms are divided by korean machine or japanese machine(or both). i really like the ahjumma who works here because she’s sooo kind, and if you happen to stumble upon troubles(like the mic not working, etc) she’ll def be there to help you out. you can bring in your own food/drinks so it can get pretty fun, if you know what i mean ;) my friends and i went inside with a bottle of vodka and they were just taking swigs in between songs LOL. weekends can get pretty crowded(with a lot of drunk college students/drunk asian working population), so make a reservation beforehand if you’re going to go for sure. otherwise, be prepared to wait or not be able to get a room when you want!

Cheap & fun. I had a party of 10 and they had options of «medium» and«large» room. The medium is cheaper obviously but it was smaller than I expected(makes me wonder how a small room is like!). I guess it created a very cuddly atmosphere: P. But anyway, the lady is nice and we can bring food in. For $ 35/hr, it’s a lot of fun when you just wanna sing your heart out with a large group!

What i like in a karaōke room. Good air conditioning, large selection of music, low prices. They let you bring your own food/drinks and pretty much leave you alone

After being a customer at many karaōke places, I know a little bit of what to expect when it comes to trying a new place. I must say, this one is the worst I’ve been to. Upon entering the studio, I thought I had entered a bathroom. The lobby was white and while it was decorated, I couldn’t help but make the comparison. It seems to be run by only one lady(nice I might add) to try to cut costs. She lead our group of 7 to our private room. We started off by punching in a couple songs but we quickly realized how many issues there were. First of all, the remote did not register some of the buttons. Secondly, the mics were terrible. The bottom of the mic where it connected to the wire(yes wired) was very lose so it disconnected if you didn’t hold it in place. Even by holding it, it only worked sometimes at best. We ended up complaining in 10 minutes. She was nice enough to move us to a different room. The second room had a lot of the same issues as the first. While the remote worked, one of the mics were loose again. However, it still worked much better than the previous. A new issue was feedback. After singing a little into the mic, I noticed that there was feedback slowly getting louder and unless I pulled away, the speakers would screech at us. On another note, the bathroom was fairly clean but the door to the men’s room doesn’t close unless I lifted it a little. It also looked like someone punched the door as there was a hole in it. If the opportunity came up, I would probably not come again unless I heard there were noticeable changes and upgrades made. One plus is that it was fairly cheap. 7 people at $ 35/hour.

My recommendation: come here if you want Korean and Japanese songs Sweetest old Korean lady ever owns this place! Super friendly. Selection is pretty good if you want korean and Japanese songs(not that many recent english songs) but the rooms are a bit older compared to other places on Convoy. ~$ 20/hr is similarly priced to other places as well.

This place is not anything out of the ordinary. It is a bit small, and the rooms don’t make me sparkle with glee with overly dramatic effects, but there are some good positives about this place. 1. Parking is superrr convenient. Huge lot! 2. We didn’t need a reservation, we were able to get a room right away 3. The owner seemed very friendly 4. Selection was good; they offered many other languages too Its a place to go if you have a random spurt of energy to get your karaōke on with some friends. Places like Chorus can get pretty busy at night and the parking isn’t so hot.

Affordable fun that offers a Japanese room, which has a phone book sized catalog of songs. Great for those who want to sing some Japanese tunes. On their regular rooms they offer a smaller catalog of English, Japanese, Tagalog, Thai, Vietnamese and others with a huge helping of Korean songs. You can fit about 7 – 10 people in a regular room and it’s only around $ 20 something an hour. $ 2 a person for an hour of entertainment isn’t easy to come by nowadays.

i been coming here for a very long time, maybe since middle school, crazy right? yeah, i got korean friends, whatchu expect? ha ha ha! kidding :) this place is small, but the price isn’t bad at all. what? $ 50 an hour for a large room, seriously, not bad at all. yah, the place is kinda small, old looking, not up to date with their songs as to other places and has only one large room, but i’m still sissified with this place. the worker/owner is always nice… but yeah come & sing your heart out!

I really like this place– first of all, for the convenient parking(always space for me whenever I go, I hate looking for parking spaces) and good location(only 5 min. from my house!) Their songs may not be super updated– and every room has a huge window where people outside can see you making a fool out of yourself, but that’s pretty much the same story at all karaōke places I know. I like the owner– she’s always friendly when you come– price might not be too cheap, but when you’re drunk and high on music, you really don’t care. My fav. karaōke place in all of convoy– will visit again soon.
