Trash. Got into a room with two broken mics, then relocated to another room with the same problem. Tried to leave, but had to pay money. Find another karaōke, or just sing at home.

How are they in business? Horrible service and overpriced.. There are at least 5 other options around and they are all better.. Go elsewhere..

Despite all the negative reviews, i actually like this place for a couple reasons. 1. This is the only place to go after 2am. 2. Their sound system and the mics are almost always on point and is one of the best in the neighborhood karaokes. The owner, the old man people are referring to, is actually nice. I never had times where i was overcharged after years of patronizing this business. Sometimes, however, there is an employee who really hates working or something. He is the only person giving bad service with a lot of attitude, but everyone else is very nice polite. You will know when you see him.

This place never opens at the right time. I came here at 5:00(when happy hour is supposed to start), and am still waiting. It’s 6:03.

Usually $ 30 for 1 – 5 people on weekend nights. Be very weary if you get drunk. The older gentlemen will try to rip you off when you pay for the room. Many times he over charges us, so start your timer when you go in. Also, if you secretly pay and someone tries to pay again for the room at a later time, he WILL still charge that person to make double pay. Good selection of songs and they also serve alcohol!

English selection here is poor and limited, this is a very traditional Asian karaōke place. Just went here for the first time last week and the equipment was starting to fail. Pricing is okay and even better during happy hour, just don’t expect to have an amazing time singing unless you like to sing in Korean, Japanese and Chinese.

The venue itself is pretty nice. They have a variety of songs to offer but i’d say they’re quite racist… I went with my non-asian friends this past weekend and they charged us 40 $ for a bottle of soju and 30 minutes of karaōke for a small room. We had to leave early, but apparently no one only stays for 30 minutes, so they decided to charge us the hour-flat rate. Last time I went to my asian friends, they ran out of all the rooms except the large ones & we stayed for over an hour and a half and only paid 35 $. I’d say thats pretty damn shady.

Super disappointing selection of music. As someone who doesn’t speak an Asian language fluently, I was pretty limited in music selection. They do update with new songs every once in a while, but the majority of the music are still from the 90s and 2000s. Sadness. Also, their mics are a bit faulty. One of our mics kept cutting in and out. Double sadness. The only upside is that there are plenty of rooms and so if you’re out of options(i.e. Karaōke 101 is completely booked), you can go here and belt out.

This place sucks. Paid $ 126 for 3.5 hours and a bottle of soju. It cost $ 4 for a can of beer! Not worth it. Karoake 101 is much better

I’m sorry, but no. After experiencing Melody KTV and hearing about Karaōke 101, I will not come to this place anymore. I don’t want to look through 3 telephone books to find songs to input using a remote that I can’t even read(it’s in Korean). Not when I can search for them within seconds using a tablet or a computer. And I certainly don’t want to deal with their«service», which consisted of one person manning the front who didn’t even adjust the volume when I asked him to. Oh, and did I mention that there are no new songs? I mean, it’s cool for those who like the old stuff, but I’d like some relatively new ones to croon as well. The room was pretty roomy, I’ll give them that. But at $ 30/hour, it was ehh…

Fun times! Came with a big group on a Friday night. $ 45/night for a big room. You gotta keep your eye open for the place because its not right on the street. There’s a selection of Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and English songs(and I believe other languages as well). Some rooms have English-only(apparently they’re newer systems?), but most have the full spectrum. For smokers: you can request an ashtray and smoke inside.

Very over priced. 60 bucks for a big room but no service and 3 dollars for drinks and beers. Not so good. Wouldn’t go ever again. Upstiars there are apartments so it feels like you are bothering people.

Between pacific honda and wendys. Paid $ 25/hour for the smaller room on a weekday night. Actually one of the cleaner places overall, but a smaller song selection compared to J Studio. $ 10 per small sake bottle. $ 3 can of beer. You need a big group of people to make it worth it.

Song choice was bad. period. I sing mostly Chinese and English songs, and their collection was extremely limited. Parking is very limited, and the location is very hidden. Sound system is eh, and the echo is usually on way too high. I had to ask the guy at the front to bring a screw driver to release the tacked-shut cabinet to adjust the echo levels. Apparently they had to seal the controls shut because drunk people were abusing the sound system. The rooms are decently sized and relatively clean. The only problem is that the rooms that I have been in stunk of cigarette smoke. It was quite overwhelming. I can’t be too picky because most of the karaōke in the Kearny Mesa are Korean-style, so the English and Chinese songs are bound to be limited. Muzen is okay because they have an amazing ½ off happy hour deal.

Ended up going to this place because it was the only Karaōke place open in the afternoon(from 4pm, most places open at 5pm if not later) the inside lobby was very nice, compared to the outside and location, you might expect something less. At first I was a little confused by the completely Korean controller(was unable to figure out, music or mic volume or echo) and the booklets were a little difficult to find the artists I was looking for, because the Japanese and English sections were organized by song title and not artist. eventually I did find many of the songs I was looking for, it’s best to check the back where they have the updated song lists from each month.(unless you’re there to sing in Korean where the updated lists are on the walls) now the best thing about my experience was that from 4pm to I believe 7pm is Happy Hour… or whatever they chose to call it, where it’s ½ price the weekend price. So, a Small 6 person size room, usually $ 25 on weekdays($ 30 on weekends) was $ 15 an hour. I think this may be only for weekdays, but if you want to sing on a weekday, it maybe the best deal you can find.

This place is located in a somewhat shady part of area right by the Honda Dealership. You would think that you’re walking into some kind of apartment complex. The pros: large, nice lcd tvs, and lots of recent songs. The cons: A bit on the expensive side. If you’re planning on bringing a large group of friends, be prepared to pay 55/hr for a Large room and 75/hr for the X-Large room. Oh and the food is very expensive for what you get. I think they order out and get it delivered, so I would suggest eating before you get your sing on ;)

When it comes to karaōke, size matters… the bigger, the better. I think most people in SD frequent Chorus, J Karaōke, and Min Sok Chon for their karaōke/noraebang fix, but this place needs a chance. The prices are reasonable, especially when you bring a large group. The bigger the group, the cheaper the price. I recall coming here for two hours with 6~7 other people, and it only averaged about $ 10/person. It might be hard to find this place because it’s hidden near BBQ Chicken and across from a car dealership. Street parking is always available, and the outside is a perfect location to loiter(aka do fob squat and smoke) while waiting for your friends.

Disco balls in the rooms… enough said. (But to be more useful: — my one friend and i split a «small» room(which can fit ~6 people) during a weekend and the price came out to be ~$ 15 each if i remember correctly. add more singers and the price gets even better — they don’t sell any alcohol, although i’m pretty confident that you can smuggle it in — pretty good selection of songs, although they could do with some more Britney… — they don’t look through your window in a condescending manner when they hear your loud, obnoxious, out-of-tune voices — awesome asian music videos which don’t make any sense [characteristic of all asian karaōke joints] — they don’t discriminate against the awesome(under-21-year olds) …end usefulness.)
