Very authentic Yunan dishes! They import some ingredients from China. I love most of their Specials, 白木瓜炖鸡 and 黄焖排骨are so tasty! Very good service. I have been back a few times with friends, good place to hang out with friends and try some authentic Yunan dishes

The word«jin» can mean gold in Chinese so the name of this restaurant is basically«Gold’s Pot» or, rather, «Pot of Gold.» But is the experience quite so golden? As far as I know, this is the only Yunnan-style restaurant in San Diego so I very excited to try it. Yunnan, being very mountainous, tends to produce what is known in China as «country-style» food and can feature a lot of vegetables. On this trip, we tried the«beef and celery,» which I enjoyed more than I expected due to a very interesting cumin flavor. However, I was rather disappointed with the pork rice noodles given that noodles are the dish for which Yunnan seems to be the most well-known. Despite the moderate spice level, overall the flavor was quite bland. Summary: The gold may have been a little tarnished on our first visit, but I’d be willing to go again.

This was a fun place to eat our lunch. The restaurant didn’t setup like a restaurant. It was more like eating in some Asian dude’s living room. It was a huge room with a few tables. We could hear our echo’s while eating, that was how big and empty the room was. It was just a funny setup to me, and by the way, their sign for«special» was written in hand with tiny pen. It was like kid’s drawing. Food: No good, very blend. It was almost like they forgot to add salt. The pot was made out of bunch of vegi with hot water, and a few slides of meat. The pot was like a Chinese Tofu pot wannabe. I wonder how long will this restaurant last.

This place is pretty good and I really liked the cross bridge rice noodle. The texture of the rice noodle reminded me the ones I had in China. I also liked its cold dishes as well.

The lunch special was only $ 6.95 so I decided to give this place a try. Unfortunately, it wasn’t good at all. The Pork Rice Noodle Soup I got was nearly a pot of spicy water. If I’m feeling adventurous I might give this place a second chance but it’s at the bottom of my list. Pro: — Lunch special was inexpensive Cons: — Bland — Not enough ingredients — Rice noodles were soggy — I only got chopsticks for a noodle soup dish

I really enjoyed the food here. I think the dishes are better than rice noodles. My boyfriend and I like their homemade papaya juice. it’s very special taste. BTW, the pictures on the wall are the best!

I am way out of my element here, since I hardly knew what anything was, but I gotta say, I am a fan. Let that go to show that it’s worth checking out! I came here with my lovely former coworker and her way too cute baby, and we were pretttyyy happy! We came around 2pm on a Saturday, and it was near empty. There was another couple in there, too. I am hoping we just came at a slow time because I would like to see this place succeed. Service was good! The server was really friendly and endearing. I actually really really thought he was super sweet and nice, so plus stars for that. Tooo bad I don’t remember his name :(thank you, anyway, 2pm server. We ordered the mapo tofu, bbq pork belly, and spicy cucumber. Unfortunately, the dishes don’t come with rice so you do have to pay extra for that. The portions are generous and I would recommend sharing with your buddy or bringing a(small) group to share with! I would probably order noodle or soup next time, since that seems to be the thing, but I was super happy with what we got! Flavorful, adequately priced, generous portion, and all around a good experience.

I wanted to give this place 4 stars because the food was good, but overall the lack of service and limited menu options warrants a solid 3 star effort. On our visit we ordered the shredded beef with celery and pork rice noodle soup. The shredded beef with celery had equal portions of beef and celery. The size of the celery was about 3 times as large as the shredded beef. The beef was tender and the flavor was good, but be forewarned that this contained a lot of oil! The pork rice noodle soup had noodles reminded me of a spicy udon base. It was subtly spicy and seasoned with a lot of cilantro and bits of ground pork. There was something that was kind of missing though. I know that they are new and probably have a lot to learn, so consider this a 3 star review with great potential of moving up to 4 stars.

Really tasty and authentic restaurant. Went there twice in two days. Especially the cross bridge noodle and spice pork with pickles. The service is very friendly and clean. Love this place the recommend to everyone.

Tried out this place with my friends the other day and was not bad at all! I can’t say it’s amazing but it was decent. We order a large pot which came with a lot of vegetables and you can choose 3 – 4 kinds of meat. We got the original soup base but I would be interested to try the sour soup base. We also ordered the crossing-bridge noodle and I thought it was pretty good. I liked the texture of the noodles but the soup is on the lighter side. I liked the flavor of the potatoes with special sauce but the potatoes were a little bit like fries that weren’t cooked all the way through so if they could improve the fries/potato part of the dish I think it would be much better. For dessert we wanted to try the banana pancake but it sold out so we ordered the apple pancake instead. The flavor was very light and you can barely taste the apple but it is kind of there, they can probably make the flavor a little stronger. Overall I would say the place was decent and worth a try. They are also giving 10% discount since it just opened. We had four people and in the end we paid around $ 11 – 12 per person which is reasonable for the amount of food we got.

It’s a nice place and authentic Yunnan rice noodle. I love it! We enjoyed it in a 15 people group last Saturday. Price is acceptable and the boss is very nice to every one.

Don’t go this place, the rice noodle and Jin’s pot taste really terrible. There are only vegetables and some beef in the pot. It’s the worst meal I’ve ever had.

The food here is a little expensive in my opinion. I ordered the crossing-bridge rice noodle. The soup is really bland, and there aren’t enough meat or vegetables in it. Not enough to make it a meal. It’s like a whole big bowl of hot water with rice noodle and drizzles of oil. My friend got the chicken soup with papaya. The broth is at least edible but it doesn’t have enough meat in it either. We also got assorted pot-stew dish. It tastes alright.

This Chinese food is really delicious! I think it is the best Chinese food in SD. They just use little oil and glutamate, so the food is healthy.
