Ok. I drive by every M-F at least once a day. Enough already! When will you start working on the building? It’s been cleared and fenced for several months now. Hurry up! I selfishly want my sandwiches and croissants! So does my family! I hope that they didn’t decide not to reopen and just take the money and run.

A little rhyme in honor of my favorite Vietnamese to-go shop: It’s all because of you, I’m feeling sad and blue You burned away, And now my life is filled with rainy days I loved you so, The best banh mi and other stuff whose name i didn’t know And now you took your love away from me

So sad about the fire. Please rebuild and we will be back! Great quality banh mi and drinks. I love this place for quick take-out and food for the road. I love the grill pork sandwiches, but need to remember to take out the mayo(makes it too rich tasting). Sauce is enough.

You will still be great K Sandwiches… Phoenixes arise from the fire. Gold is refined by fire… K Sandwiches will ARISE after the fire… My condolences to K Sandwiches, owner, employees and patrons alike… this fire saddens my heart… This was my special place to go on Friday’s with my family… always great food… coffees, bobas, great people, an available table… a great immersion of culture for us… CNN playing to get my update on the news… and very cool AC for the hot summer… K Sandwiches will ARISE after the fire…

The only reason I come here is because Mien Troung is close on Mondays and sushi diner is close after 3pm. The girl that always ring my orders up seem to hate her job. She has a very ugly attitude. I asked for extra pickles and she didn’t not That on the recipe. I got up to ask her this isn’t «extra pickles» and she just gave me a blank stare. As I’m eating my sandwich. I witnessed her yelling at a customer just because a customer didn’t like her drink. The worker didn’t even offer the customer a refund. Bad service

Yes yes &YESSSSSS! The best Bahn Mi I’ve had since transplanting from LA’s culinary bliss! haha I adore that it’s so traditional and hole in the wall, strip mall, little old Asian grandma in the kitchen traditional! I’ve tried the Grilled Pork, Pork Meat Ball and Chicken Bahn Mi so far and all are delightful. Noticeable difference in bread texture as the days change but whether it’s crispy or chewy it never fails to amaze me. My favorite is the Grilled pork… with the pickles daikon, carrot, cilantro and mayo! BLISS! The price is pretty awesome at $ 3.20 of so for a sandwich and $ 1.00 for 4 red bean sesame balls(which are my FAV dessert there!) There is a small Vietnamese shopping area to the left inside near then fresh French bread stand. Find traditional packaged Togo items for your foodie pleasure! All in all I adore this little slice of Vietnamese heaven! I always get a warm, fuzzy, home-y Asian pride feeling when I step inside places like this… so much culture, realness and food pride that just LOVEIT! Lol Happy Eats! AA

I’ve been coming here since high school(when they first opened) and they always have something appetizing. Some favorites: Meatball sandwich(not a fan of the other kinds so this is a good substitute). Strawberry croissant: very yummy sweet snack! Only $ 1 Baguettes: only $ 1 and you can go home to make your own sandwiches K special breakfast: best breakfast croissant ever. It is so filling The boba is here is pretty good too: Vietnamese coffee, Thai tea and green apple slush

NOTTHEBESTBANHMIINSD. period. I came here and ordered a BBQ pork per recommendation on Unilocal. However, it’s disappointing at best. First, the bread was dry, it tasted like 2 day old baguette where you felt it crumble in the mouth(eeeeek!). Second, the BBQ pork didn’t have enough flavor, I could barely taste anything. Mayo was the stingy amount that didn’t help«moisturize» the sandwich. Lastly, sandwich was cold throughout. Not even the meat was warm, ugh. Tasted like sandwich made without any care given. Will not return. Bale French Sandwiches over at Mira Mesa is a MUCHMUCH better choice.

It was great finally visiting this infamous banh mi shop and bakery the other day. K Sandwiches stands out from the rest in that they make their own bread dough AND bake the bread in house. We tried a variety of stuff: — CRISPYCOCONUTCREPE The one on left is pandan and the one on right is regular. I asked the girl what pandan tasted like and she said ‘mint’. I didn’t really taste the mint all that much but we enjoyed these crispy cookies. They were 2 for $ 1.00. — BOBAMILKTEA $ 2.00 Sis said it wasn’t bad and not too sweet — BBQPORKBANHMI $ 3.25 I asked for extra veggies which came at no additional charge. There is quite a bit of bread. Some might like that and some might not. It’s your preference and that’s part of the fun of trying out banh mi. Veggies tasted fresh. The bbq pork was ok but not outstanding. — PATECHAUD $ 1.25 I enjoyed this pâté chaud. The ground pork was seasoned heavily with black pepper and it paired well with the buttery flakey pastry that encapsulated it. — EGGWAFFLE $ 1.25 We took this back to work so it already had gotten soggy. It tasted like plain ol’ angel cake to me — FRESHSPRINGROLLS $ 2.95 The spring rolls were alright without the bun(noodles). The rice paper seemed a bit chewier and the peanut sauce was a bit too thick for my liking. — Grilled Beef Sandwich $ 3.50 There was ample beef and sometimes there were tougher chunks that required a bit more chew. I personally would have liked more mayo or mustard as the sandwich tasted a bit more dry I also bought sis a chocolate croissant, chocolate cream croissant, and elephant ear. So hopefully she enjoyed those items. Service was friendly and efficient. The aroma of fresh baked bread and pastries always permeated the air. They should perfume that. No joke. Overall, it was fun trying out a variety of items here. Friend asked if I’d come back for their banh mi. I still prefer Bale French Sandwiches. K Sandwiches seems to be a popular place as the shop was filled with customers eating and chatting away.

CHEAPSANDWICHES! woohoo! They have other food to-go items that you can pick up. They all taste good/decent. I’m rating this place based on price and convenience. I don’t live too far away and I like to grab sandwiches for on-the-go occasions. Usually when I’m traveling on the road for a few hours, I like to purchase their sandwiches/croissants to eat in the car. It’s nice how they open pretty early :) Bi cuon chay(vegetarian spring roll) is pretty good. Ham & cheese croissant — do people mess this up? Cream cheese croissant(any flavor) is gooooooood.(I love cream cheese though) Vietnamese coffee — good, normal vietnamese coffee

Love this place! Great variety of banh mi, as well as some amazing croissant sandwiches! They also have spring rolls(made fresh in store, you can see them making it), pâté chaud, nem chua(though they didn’t have it last time I was there… sad) and a lot of different, refreshing drinks! Their taro smoothie is probably one of the best that I’ve had. They also have some to go food, like curry. I like that their bread is fresh and the croissants are big and buttery… yummm. And on top of that, you can’t beat $ 3+ per sandwich!

Looks like a mom n pops kinda deal. Like they have the Resturant/bakery/mini mart inside all rolled up into one. Honey walnut shrimp Bahn is ok, but way to much mayo. Wish I just order a side of rice with it then putting into bread. The shrimp was tasty for the most part. Pastries are good, enjoyed the blueberry cheese croissant. Vietnamese coffee is alright for the most part. The price for everything is legit so if ur on a budget this place is good to go.

K Sandwiches makes some pretty good Banh Mi. My favorite is #07. Sardine and Tomato with cilantro, jalapeño peppers, and veggies. Banh Mi Ca Moi. This is really delicious when the Baguette is fresh. But sometime it is a bit stale. Understandable given the price($ 3.50). Honestly, I’d pay a little bit more to have fresh baguettes, allowing them to throw away the stale ones. In addition, K Sandwiches has a huge selection of sodas and other drinks, including some you can find at other fast food restaurants. Give ‘em a try! You won’t spend too much.

Sad to report that I got sick from this place… I ordered the grilled pork sandwich(which had tons of fat and I had to end up spitting pieces out with every bite of sandwich I took) as well as the bahn-mi. The location is spacious and conveniently located close to the freeway and has a bunch of offerings that I may come back to get, but I will not be returning for sandwiches.

Love love love this place when you want a selection of banh mi’s!!! My favorite go to is the grilled chicken with extra cilantro. This place does get busy during the mornings but they are efficient getting the food out!

Cesar C. thinks I love this place. =D –Banh mi is okay. Not as good as anything in San Jose, but it’ll do. Pâté makes anything good. =) –Croissants are huge and fluffy! Better than the banh mi fo’ sho’. –Minimum $ 5 to use a credit card — at ~$ 3.40 per sandwich, you’ll need to buy another sandwich or two croissants for a friend. –They have some tables there, but you probably want to take it to go. –Definitely worth stopping by if you’re hungry on a budget, but don’t go out of your way.

Prelims: Vietnamese sandwich shop and bakery, it’s a rather decent sized place with plenty of seating around and a parking lot that’s harder to manuever than a cornfield maze because in a corn maze people aren’t driving two ton machines of death in tight spaces. It’s a big dingy inside, and lighting makes it a little harder to see in the evening, but they got plenty of big screen TVs that show horse racing or whatever is popular that day and an intereseting array of different items The food has definitely improved from before. I used to come where when I worked down the street and the last time I went I resolved to eat elsewhere because it just didn’t taste that good. Today I was strong-armed into coming here with a co-worker and I have to admit that the food has improved(or maybe I was starving and had a revisionist memory about how bad the food was). I got the BBQ pork sandwich(remember that Vietnamese BBQ is different from the southern BBQ that we all are accustomed to) and it wasn’t that bad. The bread was much softer and had a great texture — crispy, crunchy crust with a fluffy interior. The meat was plentiful and the sauce was good. The radishes and carrots complemented well and it tasted like a Vietnamese sandwich should. The jalapenos were a source of much pain and cost my $ 2.50 to buy a Thai tea. My co-worker got a pork and shrimp spring roll and they weren’t half bad for something that you just get off the shelf. The meat was decent, and although he needed 4 rolls to get any sort of substance into this stomach, I think for most people 2 – 3 rolls would be fine. The Thai tea was quite average, but I’ve had the stuff from overseas when my buddy smuggled thai tea leaves from Thailand. When we made Thai tea from that stuff, you can’t drink Thai tea in America with a major whiff of nostalgia about how good it could be and the knowledge that it probably won’t ever get that good again unless I put down major $$$ to go to Thailand(pause as I cry into my keyboard). The tea was very average though and a lot of ice, but it only cost $ 2.50 as compared to the $ 4 – 5 that you get elsewhere so you get what you pay for I guess. TL;DR For cheap lunches, not bad. Utterly, utterly average.

My coworker from my past job 6years ago always mentioned this place to me. She lives down the street and talked about how good the sandwiches are. I never cared to much for sandwiches back then. I preferred JBX, Carl’s Jr & Mickey D’s(now I’m husky). So finally 5years later I finally tried this place with my friend last year… &OMG why did I wait so long :( I love their sandwiches especially the #10 add egg. their sandwiches taste even better with eggs. Not only do they make sandwiches they also have smoothies, boba drinks, pastries(chocolate croissant is the best! Cheaper, better & bigger than Starbucks), asian snacks, spring rolls, and other Vietnamese dishes. I always order a #10 w/egg, Thai tea with boba and 4 – 6 chocolate croissants :) sometimes I’ll even order another sandwich to bring to work for lunch. It’s a cute spot like a mini-mart/deli/bakery, there’s indoor outdoor seating, tv where u can watch family feud while enjoying your sandwich, purchase lotto tickets, play lotto scratchers, or enjoy some waffle crepes. The staff have always been friendly. Always ready to take your order.

Meh. I got really excited when I saw all the croissants but they ended up not tasting like the croissants I know and love. They seemed very dense and just way too big. I was unimpressed. I ordered a turkey croissant sandwich and ended up pulling out most of the turkey and just eating the cheese with the croissant. The turkey wasn’t good and I’m too picky about meat to mess around with questionable turkey. My husband really enjoyed his cheap pork sandwich thing, and while there was a lot of stuff to look at and and buy and eat, I left feeling sad about the whole experience. And still a little hungry. The next day my husband told me one of his co-workers told him K Sandwiches had just been shut down by the Health Department the week before. I FREAKEDOUT and checked the Health Department website and sure enough, they were shut down for vermin. Yeah, I don’t mess around with that. I get too much in my head to get over it. I know there are probably tons of places I eat that were shut down at some point, but I don’t know about it and I just don’t want to know. Once I have that information, I won’t be able to bring myself back to eat there again. And that’s the case with K Sandwiches. I wasn’t impressed to begin with and add their previous vermin problem, I don’t think I care to give them another shot.

If you’ve only had the teeth breaking type of banh mi bread, you’re missing out. All the bread is good here. I had the jalapeño, ham, and cheese croissant which has a flaky outside but chewy inside. The cheese stays melty like a cream. The banh mi is cheap at no more than $ 3.25. I had the sardines and tomato which used canned sardines but is a moderate fishy taste not unsuitable for many. I liked this a lot and wish more shops in NorCal make it! There are a lot of other freshly packaged cooked foods and desserts. Most people I saw came in to get the fresh baked baguettes.
