The staff here were definitely attentive and friendly, and for that i applaud them. However, the food was very sub par. My son had the teriyaki chicken plate and the sauce was gelatinous while the chicken tasted microwaved. The rest of us had sashimi, various assorted rolls, and other things. The rice was not even Japanese short grain typically prepared in Japanese restaurants. If you want quality Japanese food you might look elsewhere.

You definitely get what you pay for. Food wasn’t good. Selections on the boat were very few. The only good thing was the service.

The first time I went here was with my psychology coworkers from UCSD for lunch. I love the idea of food traveling around on boats and it was my first sushi experience! Many people can attest to my large appetite. However, with sushi, 2 rolls or 3 – 4 boat items fill me right up. It’s very affordable, delicious sushi. I’ve gone back with friends many times here. Love the crunchy roll. TIP: Send someone or go immediately inside and get a parking slip to park for a few hours. Also, there are two parking vendors in the same parking lot and it’s easy to pay the wrong one! Be careful you park on the right side and pay the right machine if you’re going to be there longer than the validated time. My friend got a ticket once. :(Sadness.

Decent sushi boat restaurant. There was a limited selection on the boats when we went in for lunch, but you can always order off the menu for anything that you don’t see that is pre-made. Service was fast and friendly.

Checked this place out the other day. Gotta say, I loved their selection and their servers. Since I walked in, the environment was very friendly and cozy. I usually like to get sashimi first at sushi places, and Kabuki Sushi definitely passes in freshness and taste! Just go. Right now. You’ll know what I mean. :)

Sit at the bar and watch the sushi boats float by – this is probably the best part about coming here. You have to set a limit for yourself before you start. Otherwise it’s too easy to just keep going because new and appealing sushi pieces pass before your eyes. «Pick me pick me,» they plead. I recommend this place for a first date. You can each comment on the roving sushi so there aren’t any awkward silences. «Whats that?» «Oh i don’t know» :Continue to ponder and debate the issue for 2 minutes: The prices are very reasonable and the sushi tastes fresh.

I dont understand why this place has such a high average of stars. Skip this place if you’re thinking about it. I’ve eating at sushi boat places and if this was the first one I’ve ever eaten at, I’d thinkit was stupid. The gimmick of sushi boats it to sit at the sushi bar and watch the sushi go by and then from that choose what you want to eat. Their boats had one plate of sushi on every other boat. It basically just went around and was old sushi. I just ended up ordering sushi from the chef. The plus side, was that it was fast. The downside, its still expensive. While each plate is less than 5 dollars. Where you could get a full roll somewhere else, you’re only getting 3 – 5 pieces. Big let down for me. I won’t be coming back. Its not worth it. There are many better places. I’d rfeally give them 1 star because it was a let down and kind of a far drive for me, but the sushi actually tasted pretty okay and service was fast ordering. Nothing I“d make a drive for though.

Love this place! I’ve been twice while I’ve visited my friend who lives in PB. The prices are awesome, and you can eat a lot without worrying about spending a fortune. You might have to wait for the boat to go around a couple times before finding what you like, but you can also«special order» something from the chefs. Very fast service and delicious sushi =) It get crowded, so it might be difficult to go with a large group of friends(most of the seating is AROUND the boat, but there are a few tables), but there seems to be a quick turn-around if you want to wait.

THEGOOD: Ambience: Casual and has character. The first and only conveyor belt sushi restaurant that I’ve been to that has the sushi float on a boat in your direction, it was a cute touch to our meal. Food and Price: Decent Delicious. Plentiful. The food just kept coming. I liked how many rolls had the spicy mayo sauce and masago. THEBAD: Cleanliness: 1 star. –The restaurant kept their door open, which meant flies buzzing around(EWWWWW) –There weren’t any coverings over the sushi as it floated by. Which means no sneeze guards and no fly-guards. I would see flies on the sushi at one point. YUCK! Portions on the sushi plates were huge. At conveyor belt sushi restaurants, I am accustomed to and usually prefer smaller servings on plates on the belt. That way I allow myself more variety and not feel full so soon. All-in-all, a decent meal. Could have been better.

I remember people would always talk about how great this place was and how awesome that the sushi was served on boats. Really though, from everything I have heard, I agree! For the most part, it’s kind of a guessing game when it comes to getting the sushi on the boats because you’re not sure how long the rolls have sat there waiting for a hungry person to grab them. From what I am aware of, what are served on the boats are usually plain rolls like the rainbow roll, california roll, and dragon roll. They have a separate menu for special rolls which are delicious, and in my opinion if you want a good experience, if you see the sushi chefs making the roll and actually putting the roll on the boat, go for that one. Basically, order everything fresh because it’s better that way, sure you may have to wait a little longer but would you rather be happy or unhappy with your meal? Hm? Anyhow, the prices are affordable, the service is nothing to complain about, the food is good, and the overall atmosphere is great. What more can you ask for?

This place is a fun little novel place to eat. Yes, I know its in PB, but it is pretty fun, I promise… The service is fast and especially so if you’re eating sushi and you eat at the bar. Then you can just take what you want off the the conveyor belt. I ordered goyoza and it also came out quickly. The employees are nice and full of energy. Really good prices too.

Revolving boats make this kaiten sushi place really fun. There are some interesting and creative rolls too. I really liked the Rock ‘n Roll, which was spicy crab, eel and shrimp inside, with some sort of raw fish and avocado on the outside. It’s surrounded by crunchy pieces, and drizzled with eel sauce and spicy mayo. All the rolls we tried were tasty and fresh. It’s a cute small restaurant. We got there early on a Thurs. at like 5:30 and it wasn’t crowded. It was starting to fill up when we left though. Cons: the rolls don’t have names on them, so you have to guess what roll it is by looking, and I feel it’s a little overpriced for kaiten sushi. The plates are color coded and range $ 2.75 for four pieces of California roll up to $ 4.95 for specialty items. All the rolls are served with four or five pieces, so it can add up quick.

Those with sensitive ears, beware: As you walk into this sushi restaurant, you will be welcomed with a very loud, very friendly greeting, given on behalf of the owner, Charlie, himself. This guy is goofy, in the best kind of way. He’s a half-fire-cracker, half-care-bear, but altogether, fun-loving man, who doesn’t mind going the extra-mile for his customers. My friend, Michelle, and I, were quickly seated, and soon after we said«yes» to water, Charlie brought out our glasses with a complimentary«H2O for YOU!» shout. We were asked if we wanted any soup or salad before we started fishing for our entrees, but we opted to skip out on the free appetizers. After seeing all the different options float on by, Michelle set her heart on the Rainbow and Crunchy Rolls. She had quite the time catching her meal, and of course, enjoying her capture. I ordered the sashimi salad, which was prepared fresh by the sushi chefs. The transmitted-palette-to-brain-message that was evoked in me as I chowed it down?: Yum. I love triumphant dinners. We will be back!

I love interacting with food. This sushi boat place seemed pretty cool & prettier than Fuji Sushi up in Elk Grove. I checked the menu & was pretty amazed at the cheap prices. But maaan, the sushi boats weren’t working. I thought you pick & choose? Instead, we had to order from the kitchen & not stare at the majesty of the sushi boats. I ordered an «Orange Crush.» Absolutely delicious. Didn’t realize it was 3 pieces though. You get what you pay for, really. & I really wasn’t digging the whole«order different rolls at a cheap price & calculate how much you spent already.» I’d rather have one set price, a la buffet. Service was good though. I’ll give them credit for that.

Love this place! If you sit at the sushi bar, the sushi comes around on little boats. You just have to sit back and pick up whatever looks good to you. Each plate comes with about 4 – 5 pieces of sushi and they charge you according the type of plate the sushi comes on. I’ve seen a guy with a stack of probably 15 plates once. You can also ask the sushi chefs to make you something off the menu if you don’t see it coming around on the boats. The service is always fast and friendly. This place is good for a very casual dinner. FYI– they are closed on Mondays I believe. Also, if you’re coming for lunch, try to come during the lunch rush because there are fresher options. If you come at the end of the rush, they don’t put out so much sushi. Dinner is always busy though so there’s not problem there.

This place top notch and not that expensive for a tourist area like PB. Sitting at the bar is fun as you can order the sushi straight from the sushi chefs or you can take the sushi right off the boat and pay depending on the size of it. They have great happy hour specials and everything tasted great. The service was good, but it did take a while for us to get our sodas so thats why it doesn’t get the 5 starts. Otherwise, great restaurant.

Kabuki is kooky in a kitschy sort of way for sushi. 3 Mexican sushi chefs stand in the middle of a sushi bar surrounded by small plastic boats carrying various types of sushi around. As our hero watched orders of half-rolls rotate around the bar, he was very tempted to try everything out. They even have sides such as squid salad and seaweed salad as well. Our hero would recommend the calamari roll, which isn’t found on any of boats here, but will well worth ordering. Overall, the rolls are fairly average and the prices are fair. It’s definitely worth a visit just to check out the interesting presentation style of sushi floating around an oval moat. PROS: — Unique«conveyor belt» style sushi served on floating boats at the central bar. — Small serving sizes of sushi gives people at the bar a chance to sample lots of different rolls. CONS: — The sushi bar gets pretty packed on the weekends. — Hard to tell which specific rolls are on each dish. They could use some labels.

I can’t say the sushi is very good, but it is priced correctly. $ 3.25 for 5 pieces of a spicy scallop roll with salmon and avocado on top; $ 2.50 for 5 pieces of spicy tuna roll with red snapper on top — pretty good deals. Service was great — the owner(or at least I think he’s the owner) was very friendly and socialized with many of the guests at the sushi bar. OH. ANDTHISPLACEHAS A REVOLVINGSUSHIBAR. which i love… and they kept it fully stocked… on a wednesday night.
