It’s good food but one day I went there and the sushi I had was so good. The next week I came it was dry. So basically what I’m saying is that they have there on and off day. So if you go hopefully it’s a on day because it’ll be really good if it is. Also my friends and I rode our bikes all the way from Claremont to there during their hours they said they were open and for some reason they were closed.

I have no idea how there are so many good reviews About this place, don’t believe any of those. I ate here last night and it was by far the worst sushi I have ever had(grocery store sushi is three times better). The place was completely empty which was a good thing since there was only 1 lady that was running the restaurant. The quality of sushi was poor with nothing fresh(avocado was brown, fish older, rice extremely sticky). Our one roll was suppose to have cream cheese in it but instead it was served with little squares of cream cheese on top of the sushi pieces because she said she forgot to put it in the roll. Also they do not have any beer or sake because they do not have a liquor license so they close at 8PM or whenever they feel like it to be honest.

I eat here twice a week, great prices and polite service. The proportions are perfect. All nigri 1.50 and very well cut …

Good sushi. Even better prices. My only wish is that it had more square footage and was facing the main street. Washington Roll is my fav at this location. If you are in Mission Beach this location is only a block from the beach.

The food here is good and well priced. It is never too busy which is always a relief when Sushi spots in PB can be quite crowded. The servers there are very nice but still seems a bit disorganized. Nevertheless, we log the place. Hope it sticks around. My girlfriend and I love to come here when we want to go out for great, affordable food and a mellow atmosphere.

I don’t wish bad luck on anybody starting a restaurant… but, these folks have NO business in the sushi game. gyoza=deep fried, no no no thats Korean yaki mandoo shrimp tempura= batter too thick softshell crab roll= all batter, really doubt there was any crab in it nigiri=twice as much rice as there should be salmon skin hand roll = easily 4 times the proper rice and the salmon skin was apparently battered and deep fried… just terrible, I will stop the torture now because I think you get the point.

My sister was visiting from Chicago and wanted to try sushi since the seafood would be fresher out here. We decided to try Tomo since we were already in the PB area. She ordered two rolls of sushi while I ordered the off-the-menu tonkatsu ramen. We were both underwhelmed with the quality of the food since the coast is literally a few blocks away! The bathroom was also disgusting. Save your money and go to someplace with better quality seafood.

In from AZ, stopped in for a bite of sushi. It was not very good. I got a bento box with teriyaki chicken and the wontons were good, but the chicken was chewy and fatty. The sushi my husband got was not good… either of the rolls. One we just didn’t eat, the other… tolerable. I can’t pin point something that was specifically bad but it sure wasn’t good. I didn’t give it one star becAuse there was nothing that made me cringe but I was really bummed I didn’t just save my money and eat at pbj at the beach house or wait for the restaurant we wanted to go to to open. I would have liked a peanut butter sandwich better

Food is good, and I would love to give them 4 stars, but whoever runs this place should train their waitress to pay more attention to the customers than her phone.

The food is good but the service is soooo slow. When we arrived, there were only two other couples there. One of the couples had their food the other had just ordered. It took over an hour for our food to be served! They only have one chef who works at a really slow pace. There is no reason why it’s so slow when there aren’t that many patrons. The food is good, but do not go there if you’re in a rush.

I have been here two times so far. They just recently opened and are waiting to get approved for their liquor license. The rolls were good but nothing exceptional. They are comparable to other PB sushi joints. I do agree that their rolls are much thicker and bigger than other places. definitely fills you up! The price is AWESOME too. They have 30% off specialty rolls all day everyday. The miso soup is good, not too salty like some places. The house salad had a weird creamy dressing which I wasn’t a big fan of. What I love about this place the most is the location(and price). It is right next to Ralphs on Mission blvd and parking is easy since you can park in the Ralphs parking garage. Definitely will come once they have their liquor license!

This place is decent. Stopped here just to grab a roll. The place was pretty empty, there were two other tables there, that was it. We sat at the little sushi bar and the guy took our order and got our rolls out pretty quick. There was a girl there waitressing but I felt as though she was kind of oblivious to the people in the place. She brought me a iced tea and was confused when I said I didn’t order it, the guy at the sushi bar told her what rolls we ordered and I guess she misunderstood him and thought my sushi roll was code for tea. Another table tried getting her attention and she went in the back for a while before coming out again and getting their bill. I’m sure all new places have issues with service at first, I’m sure this place will get better with time. As far as quality of the sushi roll goes it was good, I downed the whole thing pretty quick so I’m sure if I was in the area and I just wanted something for lunch I would stop by again.

This is a newer place so it’s rarely packed. Once the word gets out on this place though, it’ll start getting crowded. Anyway, the sushi was great. The rolls were much thicker than at other places, so it filled us up much than normal. And the lunch special was great! 30% off rolls. We got 5 different rolls and after tip, we paid only $ 50. I will definitely be back.

Fresh sushi, the mackerel is amazing. This place does not belong in a shopping center it should be a stand alone 5-star sushi bar :)

This new Sushi Bar in the heart of P.B. is off to a good start, but like most new recently opened places, they do have a few things to work, but not much. One thing they do have right, are their very good prices, especially during lunch hours. I was able get a lunch bento with chicken teriyaki with sesame, vegetable tempura, steamed rice, house salad, miso soup, and a couple of Cali rolls all for $ 5.95!( ) To mix it up, I also ordered a protein roll for $ 9 and some change, after 30% during lunch hours.( ) The miso was okay, or pretty average( ), but the salad was very good, especially with their house signature fruit base creamy salad dressing.( ) The fruit flavor was subtle, but just enough that it was there, especially towards the end. The mixed vegetable tempura was very good. Each vegetable piece were lightly battered and fried very well.( ) The veggies still had good texture and were not overcooked and soft. The veggies were broccoli, sweet potato, zucchini, and carrots. Well done… The chicken was good and came dressed with a mild sauce and peppered with sesame seeds.( ) It was all thigh meat and was mostly tender except for a few chewy pieces.( ) The two California roll pieces were pretty good. They were average in size, and both the avocado and krab tasted fresh.( ) Although the protein roll was good and looked nice but, I did expect more from the flavor of the fish and its overall execution. For example, I thought the cucumber that surrounded the roll was a little to thick in areas or just to much of it. So much, that it was difficult to taste the individual fish, especially the salmon, with it naturally inspiring flavor.( ) Honestly, I tasted a lot of cucumber, some ponzu, a bit of avocado and sashimi. I still liked it, but I thought it could of been better. Overall, my experience with the food was good to okay, but with the nice prices and people who work here, it earned them an extra star, to total four. The lunch special is great, and is perfect for people who work in the area, because it came out quick and won’t do much damage to your pocket book.

Visiting from out of town and end up at this cute little place right by the beach! They have only been open for two days! The rolls were very good and not too much rice and the service was friendly and over the top helpful. The prices were very good too because all of their rolls are 30% off currently. The sushi chef made us a cute little orange dessert with toothpicks shaped like a bear. If I lived here I would come here all the time!
