I love sushi. Let’s start there. This tiny little restaurant surpassed my expectations. It’s small enough for you to feel like you’re in a private venue. That’s kind of cool. The sushi is very good. No it’s not top grade sushi but I’d for sure give it a B++. 50% off their sushi menu is amazing! And they have all their popular items on it. Oh and the sushi portions are HUGE. I was expecting something much smaller. Ordered 4 rolls and couldn’t finish 3!(There was only 2 of us…). I highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to come back!

After driving around North Park and Hillcrest looking for parking at other sushi places we decided to come here because we always pass it and have never been. We got there shortly after it opened so it wasn’t busy, and I was very pleasantly surprised by this place. Food: They had a bunch of rolls for 50% off, seemed like half of the list! We ordered the Lobster Dynamite roll(Baked lobster roll with spicy mayo, really good!), the Rock N Roll(various fish with cream cheese that is fried so the rice is chewy, also delicious), Rainbow Roll(standard, mixed fish cali roll), and the Firecracker(I think thats the name, spicy tuna with tempura flakes and spicy mayo). Everything came out at the same time which we really liked and it all tasted pretty great! Setting: the indoor restaurant is a little small, but similar to a typical sushi place. Seating at the bar and maybe about 5 tables. However they have a pretty big outdoor area that is covered with mesh so you don’t need to worry about bugs or other stray objects bothering you. There is more room for bigger groups here, with tables that seat up to 4 or 6. Service: it took a little while for us to get menus but other than that the service was fine. We were told of the 50% off rolls, got our drinks right away and didn’t have to wait very long for the food or the check. The staff was friendly without being too invasive, perfect for us. Area: being Hillcrest, parking is always a challenge. There is a parking lot for this particular location, but it is shared with a number of other businesses so it can be hit or miss, especially if you go later. But you definitely have a better chance of finding parking here than the rest of Hillcrest or Northpark!

Convenient location in Hillcrest, but a very, very small space inside. Came here for the first time last night because I was having dinner with a good friend of mine. The sushi was good, but nothing spectacular. I will say, however, that for six sushi rolls and a seaweed salad, we only spent $ 50, which was including a $ 10 tip. The bill was more surprisingly awesome than the sushi itself, but for what it’s worth, I’d recommend this place to anyone if you’re looking to grab a quick, but somewhat healthy dinner for a price that’s very low, by Southern Cal standards. Come here for the value of sushi and the amount you receive versus the quality of fish.

This place has been there for a long time and is typically never too busy. I usually always go for their 5 dollar sake bomb special which is a large Sapporo and large hot sake. This is a pretty good deal, but recently the waitress has decided that you have to order a roll too. Which is ok no big deal. After 15min waiting for our drink specials she never came back to the table. We had questions about the food, but she wouldn’t speak to us. I felt like she thought we were trying to only have drinks and not eat. This made the whole table pretty uncomfortable. When she decided to come back 30 min later she was snippy and had a terrible attitude towards us. I decided to pay full price and never return. I’m not sure how the business manages to stay open. If you want terrible service this is the place to go. I would suggest finding a different sushi place with a better attitude and better food.

Anthony Bourdain once said«Behind every great restaurant, there’s a Mexican». But in Kiki Sushi’s case, this mexican is on the front lines making your sushi. Good sushi at that. Quiet, cozy, and tasty, the cost of the rolls here at Kiki Sushi is practically a steal. But for the 50% off rolls, you can only dine-in. And if you dine-in, you’re probably going to be paying tip anyway. But i believe it’s worth it. However The miso ramen i ordered didn’t taste like miso at all. The texture of the noodle was great. The chicken on top didn’t taste old or was too fatty. It was all good cuts. This is like my new Sushi home. A home that didn’t succumb to hipsterization.

Nice little spot, good for dates. Seating very limited. Good, quick service. You have to try the super crunch roll, superb!

We are lost and confuse where should we eat for dinner, so here we are. When we are walk in to this restaurant, there only one sushi chef there and didn’t greet us, so i ask if i should just sit wherever, and he said yes. When we want to sit, all the table are dirty, theres water on it. The waiter didn’t have a smile. I order milk tea, when it come out, it taste like condensed milk. The food were ok, but the rice is like porridge, they cooked it with too much water. They should recooked the rice.

Came in here sort of spur of the moment with a buddy for dinner. Sushi sounded good and hadn’t tried this spot. We were greeted at the door immediately and told we could sit wherever. Glanced through the menu while the waitress got us our drinks and decided which rolls to get. Lots to choose from, but the variety(at least for what was 50% off) wasn’t so great. Got a few to share and everything was fresh and tasty, but tasted sort of the same. Price was right and quality of food was ok. I’d come back, but only if i was right in the area and didn’t feel like driving elsewhere.

Come here for the lunch socials. Helpful hint: no to go boxes for these unless a good amount has been eaten. 50%offf speciality rolls which is quite nice. Service is normally pretty good unless it gets super busy because they one have one server. My co worker and I get about 4 nice size rolls and it’s like $ 24! Good deal right!

3.5 stars bc it’s cheap for decent sushi. The owner should hire more workers though. I’ll come back for the crazy bad boy roll.

The sushi here is not fresh at all. I felt like after eating it I would probably get sick and die… I know I’m exaggerating, but it really was not fresh, and there were flies in the restaurant that kept landing near my food. The rolls were very small for the price you are paying, and the garlic edamame was not worth $ 4.50. The cleanliness of this place is questionable as well. I went to use the restroom, which is behind the kitchen, and the kitchen was a disaster zone. The floors looked repulsive, there was raw shrimp just sitting out, the sink was full of nasty vegetable trimmings. I instantly regretted eating here. This one is a must pass I’m afraid.

Has multiple signs posted that say 50% off specialty rolls. Hands you a menu that says«Specialties» at the top. After ordering and eating your food, you overhear waitress tell customers the specialties are not 50% off for that night only. You tell them what you overheard and they basically tell you they were too lazy to take down the signs and proceed to charge you full price. They’re sorry, not sorry. Go to Sushi Deli. I love lamp but I like posted discounts honored more. P. S. Anyone else think they stole their signage from 2 different Kinko’s stores? I keep wanting to say Kinko’s Sushi…

I’ve only been here twice in the span of 4 years but I like it. The portions are huge! They had half off on some roles and I figured it would be like most places where you get a dinky 6 roll piece and that wasn’t the case at all. But if you want to take it to go you don’t get half off but it was all very worth it. The price is still affordable as well. Oh and the gyoza was delicious. They pan fried it which is how I like it. Crispy on all sides.

Ok place to go for cheap descent California rolls. The ramen is great, but the service is not what you are going there for. If you do not mind the décor or lack of ambience I recommend this place highly but cannot rate it well because of the total package.

Best happy hour special… ALLTHETIME! if your Ballin on a budget this is the right place. They always have select specialty rolls that are 50% off(dine in only) and they are tasty. With that being said, if your looking for a nice resturaunt for a date night this place is more casual and laid back. The sushi isn’t the best in San Diego but for the price I could not complain. The service isn’t so great, their seems to be only one waitress during lunch time and we usually have to find her to get out check but our sushi is always made promptly and fresh. The Beth room in the back is a little sketchy, but they are just working with the space that they have. Definitely have and will be coming back!

First time here even though its a minute from home… i always drove by this place but never thought to stop by to eat cz i always thought it was a Kinko’s. As we returned our #decobikes, we were starving and decided hey why not eat here since its 50% off. Not bad — doesnt have too much flavor —the sushi’s we ordered all tasted the same. Our waitress was friendly :)

If you are on a budget, Kiki Sushi is great on your pocketbooks. Sapporo draft beer was only $ 3 and tasted pretty good too. They have this dine-in special where selected rolls are 50% off. I was able to try several different varieties of sushi which were okay. I think that the tonkotsu ramen that I ordered was actually way better than their sushi. In fact, I was full from the ramen alone since it was accompanied by 4 pieces of a California Roll. At $ 7.99 for tonkotsu ramen, it was a steal. Perhaps this place looks somewhat weathered, but at least the food prices are affordable.
