I’ve had better sushi from a Japanese gas station. I went here because RB was closed. Horrible choice. Below par service and generally kind of a sad atmosphere. I give it two stars because it’s pretty much what I expected.

Three stars on somedays! The food is only edible with no extra. The meat is over cooked and should be more tender when paying for it. This place is BS and I would recommend getting sushi only. They seem ok with that!!! I need to try the ramen but maybe not!!! So passing on this unless they practically giving sushi away!!!

Went there over SD Pride Weekend. They had their sing up that said 50% selected rolls. Went in to order with 3 friends and not only told they were no specials today but that the sign wasn’t up. I went back outside to check my vision as we left. Sign was up and no specials. Won’t be going back again. I believe that type of advertising is called Bait and Switch.

I’m giving them a 4 only because I love their vegetable ramen and now that I’m vegetarian I can’t eat ramen anymore. But theirs is not made from pork. I used to really enjoy their sushi too.

Okay service. They forgot a few items, but removed the items off the receipt. Rice was not fully cooked.

Came in here a bit skeptical. Reviews weren’t so hot. I was greeted politely and seating right away(even during the lunch rush). Normally the 50% house rolls aren’t very good at most sushi places//however here the fish tasted so fresh! Orders the lunch special $ 7.95 for choice of 2 and side soup/salad. Very impressed! They deserve better ratings! Yum yum yum

We had food brought into our office from Resturants on the Run. Not sure when the food was made but all of the avocados were almost all black, the sushi rolls fell apart and tasted old. All of us here at work are not feeling so well. The worse food I have ever tasted. Thank goodness I only had one piece just to be polite to the person who ordered it. Praying I don’t get sick. Contacted the delivery service and suggested they take off there list.

You will not get better service anywhere. I had a great time. The happy hour had amazing prices and they are EVERYDAY! and the seafood was fresh and tasted as good as sushi deli or RB Sushi. The major plus was our waiter. Super attentive and just really nice. I’ll be back soon! The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 is because their happy hour only includes a limited amount of rolls to pick from. and I wish there was just a little more variety with those select rolls

We liked our heaven roll and candy cane roll. Liked my miso ramen soup. Hubby said he liked his soy soup. Service was good but it was Wednesday night and pretty slow. I don’t know about the other reviews but I had a good experience.

The service was beyond awful. We arrived at approximately 7:30 and was seated promptly. We were handed menus but before we could ask questions the waiter had scurried off to seat other patrons. We decided on our food and waited, and waited, and waited. We did not even receive water till 7:50 and no one had yet to take our order. However several other tables seated after us had been reviving there appetizers. By 8:00 we still had not even been seen by the wait staff, we got angry and departed the establishment. We will not be going back.

Seeing the rating here must be wrong. From 2011 – 2014 I attended here as my main sushi joint with the gf. We had our usual chef(olay) and he was amazing. Every time we sat for late eve sushi we were entertained and handed wonderful food and gifts every time. Never a sour moment in this rest. The only sad day was when Olay left earlier 2014. Fav dishes– gf: sashimi salmon carpaccio– delicious thin salmon with a thin sauce(unsure on) and some kind of tasty garnish Me: sashimi«white tuna” — an extremely buttery rich tasting fish. Absolutely incredible and the best I’ve ever had. Unsure if they still order the fish Sad to see this place not doing so well while reading others reviews. Try again my friends!

Do not I repeat do not go here! the food is mediocre at best and the service is terrible. The waitress forgot part of our order, and didn’t even check on us until we called her over. For some reason our order took forever to come out even though they weren’t even busy literally their were five people in the restaurant, we’re three of those people where in my party! I will never go back to this restaurant ever.

Eh, Nami is okay. Came here after walking by it hundreds of times, but probably wouldn’t go back. They have good specials but I don’t feel like the quality is there compared to other locations. Cheap but you get what you pay for.

This review is going to be short because I came here for the taste of Hillcrest and could only sample a couple items: They were giving out California rolls and some kind of marinated chicken skewers. I thought the California rolls were decent, nothing special with a California roll though. The chicken was dry, not tender at all and overall just not very tasty. I feel they should have paid more attention to the chicken when sampling to over a thousand patrons.

This place is underrated. The food and service is excellent. I come here once a week for the lunch special. Love their karage and teriyaki beef. Their sushi is good to. I usually the lunch special with karage and chef’s choice nigiri. My photo shows a yummy karage and beef along with their special shrimp tempura roll! Yum

Wow! I’ve been walking by this place for a long time, but when I want sushi, I usually make my own. My mom and I were in the area yesterday and decided to go in, and we were both really impressed. They were very nice and friendly, and the place was clean. I got an avocado roll and a cucumber roll. My mom got a tempura roll(I think?) Everything we got was delicious, and came quickly. Our waters were always full. The sushi chef was super nice and friendly. The best part? SOCHEAP! Our bill was $ 10 for lunch for two.

This is by far my favorite sushi place in San Diego. We don’t have time for the unreal wait at Sushi Deli, so we ventured on to find another moderately priced fast sushi restaurant, and we were pleased when we found Nami. They have a half off ALLDAY menu on all the tables. Basic sushi rolls for 2 – 5 dollars. They also have 99 cent budlights all day. It’s always quiet and peaceful when we have come to eat. The servers are attentive, they have never forgotten anything, or messed up a bill. You are greeted promptly at the door and you have your choice of inside or outside seating. They have a big screen TV and are usually playing some type of sport. They are just a little higher priced(by change, not dollars) than Sushi Deli, but the service, no wait time, and quiet atmosphere completely make up for it. When my girlfriend and I go, we have never had a bill higher than $ 40 with drinks, appetizers and a few rolls.

After several visits, it’s about time for an update to Nami Sushi. Wife ordered the chicken teriyaki and shrimp tempura roll combo shown here: Can you believe that plate only costs $ 7.50? That’s one of the best deals I’ve seen so far in Hillcrest. I ordered the pizza roll, which I previously reviewed, along with the Nami Delight(soft shell crab, cucumber, crab, gobo, daikon sprout topped w/albacore tuna, avocado and massago). The photo of both rolls is here: Together it cost about $ 20. There is a half-price sushi menu, but those are rolls everyone has seen a million times, and I’m not about to be the millionth person to review a California roll on Unilocal. After several visits, Nami is still a solid, quick sushi spot. But like I said, it isn’t going to blow you away.

Very disappointing! Items ordered were not the items received. Of the items that were correct only half were edible. Quality of the food was extremely poor as was the service. Items took an extremely long time from order to table considering we were one of four tables. The biggest surprise of the night was neither of us got food poisoning. I will never patronize this place again.
