This is the perfect place to get your sushi fix at an affordable price. The restaurant itself if nicely decorated and I always feel comfortable having my child with me. The service is friendly and the food is really good. We had dinner for three last night with sake and beer for a total of $ 50-a great price for sushi.

came from Los Angeles for a game at the University. Arrived a couple hours early so we decided to grab a bite to eat. Jumped quickly on Unilocal to see what are sushi choices were around us(since that’s what we were craving). It’s always hard to make a sushi choice, especially when you never been there before.(I have had some bad experiences with sushi) so that’s what makes me iffy about a lot of places. The reviews and the pictures instantly caught my attention so we decided to give it a try. Let me just say, I could not stop bragging about how good the food was all night! We sat ourselves, and our waitress came to help us out as soon as we were seated. She then gives us 2 menus, their main menu and a small ordering card menu which had a list of rolls that were 50% off(not sure what times this is to or from) but we came at the perfect time! We ordered 4 rolls between 2 people came out to 35 $ with drinks as well. The quality of the food was amazing! The fish was fresh! it took a little time after she brought us our 2 first rolls to bring the other 2 but we were in no rush and by that time enjoying our food. We will definitely be returning. Honestly willing to make the trip just to eat here again.

This place is okay. It’s a convenient spot. Usually when my sister and i go, we’ll get the sashimi salad which is very good and we’ll share a roll. Which are usually half price. The service is okay, it seems like a family owned spot and the children are the servers. However the last time I went, it was just by myself and ordered the ninja roll. However when I bit into it, there was plastic inside the roll! I looked at the rest of the rolls and here was plastic in all of them! Had them take it back and got a new one. It was fine but they should really know to be sanitary.

Don’t get me started on how good this place is. This is probably my favorite sushi place! They have awesome food, for really cheap! I love going to yoga, and then coming here afterwards.

This place was very frustrating. I love sushi, but am allergic to cucumber. Therefore, I look for the rolls without cucumber. The menu, both online and in the restaurant, lists the ingredients in the special rolls. Nearly all of them list cucumber, but the Sha-Bang roll doesn’t list cucumber. I ordered the Sha-Bang roll and it was loaded with cucumber. When I complained to the waitress, she said, «Sorry, but most sushi rolls come with cucumber.» Um. Yeah. That’s why I chose the roll that didn’t have cucumber! I will never come back to this restaurant. Rude waitress, bland rolls, and clearly the menu doesn’t list everything.

Excellent service! Family operated and they sure know how to take care you. Food is tasty and good priced than other sushi restaurants near by. Try to take advantage of their roll specials.

Small and cozy. Fast seating and service. Very quiet atmosphere with a TV behind the bar. Went on a Friday after work around 6. Sat at the bar and got the black Dragon roll and a baked salmon roll. Both were fresh and filling. The dragon roll was half off, got a Kirin for happy hour. Ended up spending maybe $ 24 total for all that!

Had lunch here once when I was craving sushi. Tried the half off options(spicy tuna, and another roll) and yellowtail Nigiri. I was underwhelmed. I guess I was expecting something super fresh and something less than basic. Had my fix but left wishing I had a different pusher.

The new go to spot for sushi for me and my friends! I’ve been working in the area for a few months and can’t believe i haven’t found this place earlier. Good food, great portions, and amazing service! I’m definitely coming back to this place.

Did I order the wrong stuff? This place has 4 stars and everything I ordered was bland and seemed lower quality and small portions. I ordered: Shrimp shu mai — almost microscopic, tasted like it came from frozen Chicken teriyaki –ton of rice, chicken bland, veggies gross Salmon roll — blah Albacore roll — blah Only one person in there at dinner time when I ordered to go. Must have been a severely off day?

Amazing! I loved the sushi, teriyaki bowl and desert; doesn’t get very crowded during lunch time. They have so many varieties of items to chose from on the menu so if you don’t like sushi doesn’t mean you can’t stop in here for something delicious! The chef was very kind to make my son a teddy bear out of an orange. This will definitely be my favorite spot in San Diego to go out for dinner or lunch. Hope to see others there.

For the most part I liked the sushi here. I did take out with a co worker. Ordered the albacore rolls off the 50 percent off menu. Typically runs somewhere around $ 12 but with the discount it’s $ 6. Comes in 8 sushi rolls. The fish was fresh and so were the ingredients. My co worker had some eel type sushi and a spider roll. Those tasted pretty fresh and were tasty also. Very clean and dimmed lighted here so it’s a pretty relaxing vibe. The one knock on this place is the parking lot here can be hard to park in on a busy weekend or peak lunch hours. We came here right as a yoga studio next door was at max capacity so all the parking spaces were gone. Took 15 minutes for parking to open up. As a guy though watching all that spandex walk out after the yoga session was over, yeah that was a perk.

True quality sushi — had a 3 of their specialty rolls. The Red Dragon was hands down the best. Service was great — it was kind of later on a Friday night when we went so it was pretty empty. Place is nice and has a cool waterfall and a fish tank. Give it a try!

Great service. Good quality sushi. It wasn’t too busy which was nice. Cute little sushi place to go to with family and friends. I got a bento box with teriyaki chicken which was great. Miso soup was phenomenal. We got three different sushi rolls and the red dragon was by far my favorite. I will definetly be back when I’m in town. I’m a fan

The service is great! It’s small-ish, almost like a hole in the wall. But food was GREAT and servers on top of it! Definitely recommend!

The food was okay, but nothing really blew me away. We ordered five rolls to share, and green tea to drink. Service was the best thing about the night. They weren’t busy when we got there, so I guess it shouldn’t be news that we got good service, but we’ve been ignored in enough empty restaurants for it to be noteworthy. Anyway, we ordered one Spicy Tuna Roll, one Salmon Skin Roll, one of their Shebang Rolls, one Red Dragon Roll and one Rainbow Roll. Oh, and let me also say that they offer«half off» some of their specialty rolls, which sounds like a really great deal, until you see that the«regular» price for said rolls starts at $ 17 per. Say what, now? Anyway, the rolls came out quickly enough, but again, they weren’t great. The Rainbow Roll and Salmon Skin Rolls were my favorite. The salmon skin itself was crunchy without being a threat to take out your filings, and the flavors weren’t overpowering. Then Rainbow Roll tasted fresh and was put together well. The Spicy Tuna, though, had way too much other stuff going on inside of it to allow me to enjoy it. I like simplicity when it comes to that roll. The two premium rolls were good, but definitely not worth $ 17 a piece — or even half that. They were two different rolls, but they tasted the same to me(except for the cream cheese in one of them…) All in all, it was decent, but I didn’t have anything that made me a fan for life. Add in the jankety parking lot of the shopping center, and the difficulty in finding parking… There’s just not much there to make me want to go back.

My boyfriend and I came here one Sunday afternoon when we sadly drove by our usual sushi spot to find that they were closed for the day! We had looked on Unilocal to find a place in the same area that had high reviews and ended up choosing Kimiya. The service was awful. There was barely anyone in there — maybe 3 other tables — yet it took so long to have our order taken. It took another 15 minutes just for a miso soup. After that took forever while a group of four that sat down and ordered far after us started getting their food and drinks right out. Made me feel like they didn’t care as much about ours because we were a smaller party with a less expensive order and weren’t spending money on the drinks. Not appealing. We were really back and forth between getting rolls or a bento box. Eventually we decided on rolls. We got a rainbow roll, a spicy tuna roll and one other that was similar. They were not good. None of the fish tasted fresh at all. The rolls lacked flavor too. Tasted like the rolls you can buy at Trader Joes that sit in the refrigerated section. Maybe we should have gone with the bento boxes. But I’ll pass on even going back to try those.
