No no no, if you like burnt meat and food heated in a Styrofoam container this is the place for you… i always say don’t judge a book by its cover but… i should have for this place… you walk in and its a horror shop of uncleanness. Door handles on the fridge were black with build-up from not being cleaned… the same hands went right into the BBQ he was serving… i definitely will not be entering this place again.

Really bad bbq. Ordered the beef rib dinner with candied yams and baked beans. It’s a small place so you can see the food get prepared, which is usually a plus, but is definitely a minus for this place. The ribs were thrown into a styrofoam box and then bbq sauce from a large plastic container labeled bbq sauce in generic font was spilled on the ribs. The sauce looked like it was from Walmart or the dollar store. Next the cook closes the styrofoam box and microwaves it. Ribs were dry and mostly bone. The sauce was salty and bland. The yams were okay and the baked beans were pretty good. I would not recommend this place and hopefully I didn’t just give myself cancer from eating meat microwaved in styrofoam. Coming here was one of the worst decisions of my life. The people that gave this place a 5 should have their Unilocal accounts deleted.

Best peach cobbler in San Diego. I’ve had others but there’s is the best at least in my opinion. Ribs are also to die for!

My go to spot for southern bbq in San Diego. I have been going to Kim’s since it was on Euclid. I love their collard greens and baked beans as well as the bbq pork ribs.

I’ve been a huge fan of this BBQ place my whole life! when it use to be called Warrens BBQ on Euclid. It is definitely is family ran because its my family who runs it… This is old school BBQ that I will always love! Wilbert is the sweetest man I know and at his age I’m proud of him that he’s still doing it after all these years! Amazing place to eat and get good inexpensive BBQ!

I was hosting a barbecue for out of town relatives a few weeks after I happened to pass by this place, so I decided to try them out on my own in case I wasn’t up for cooking myself. This is really a take out kind of place anyway. I went in and ordered a full rack of pork ribs and about four bones of beef ribs. I was lucky enough to get the pork ribs right off the pit. The lovely old guy politely apologized for having to go back outside to get them but that couldn’t have made me happier. Both meats were perfectly seasoned, but the pork ribs were actually better. I was impressed with the flavor of both without sauce, of course, but the beef ribs were a little tough and hard to chew. I’d go back by for sure, but I would have to get something really fresh or brisket sandwiches. The prices here are really reasonable for BBQ, so when I eventually find out what they make best, I’ll visit them for that. Next time I will have to check out their brisket, sides and deserts.

Old school BBQ soul food coming out of this little place. No frills, no bs, just good old classic food. Made me very reminiscent of when I lived in Georgia and ate this food a few times a week. Wilbert might be one of the coolest guys in SD. Big woman in front of me pissed off for no reason messing with him and he gives it right back at her. He’s funny as hell and gives this place a lot of charisma. Rib dinner plate for $ 9 is no joke. Half slab of ribs, 2 sides and corn bread. I couldn’t finish. I got a hot link on the side and it was good. A little salty and wish there was more heat, but hit the spot. Ribs are good. These tasted salty too. Sauce is average. Need to try their hot bbq sauce next time. Collards are pretty good. This is one of the few places in So CA that know how to make them. Yams are the jam here. Best one’s around. Sweeter than a bowl of peach cobbler. Cornbread kind of blew me away with the base of it. Can’t figure out what they’re doing to it, but I’m gonna find out. Wish they did catfish and black eye peas here. Don’t expect to dine-in and bring cash. If you’re a bbq snob that wants to talk about special rubs and injecting meats, this place ain’t for you.

This place is a small little hole in the wall with delicious southern style BBQ. The price is reasonable and the portions are perfect! The little old man that owns it, cooks the meat daily, fresh, outside in a smoke grill. I live close by and the smell always lures you in. It’s tucked away in a small plaza, so look hard when trying to locate this place. Plan to eat out because the place is too small to eat in. Also, he doesn’t take credit cards, debits or checks, so bring cash!!!

We shared a pork rib dinner for lunch – $ 9.00. Ribs were succulent and perfectly smoky. The mild sauce was average. The owner is a bit shy at first, but he turned out to be a good talker. Got part of his life story – he started out in Oklahoma. would easily return, even if it’s not our usual part of town.

. Iv eaten a lot of designer BBQ overpowered with fancy spice rubs, sauces & injections. I sample all the top BBQ teams out there when I’m at a competition. U want ribs that fall off the bone go to Tony Roma’s. This is a small storefront with no gimmicks or fancy equipment. Yes, he zapped my Beef ribs in the micro & it was still good!!! U can’t beat $ 9 combos & ½ racks for $ 9 Teaches me to make my future visits when he just opens. Greens were yummy! Went back a week later & was a lil dissatisfied. Think I got day old re-heats. This old timer knows how to BBQ. But on this visit the meat was smoked with lots of starter fluid. Hit n miss at this spot. A lil sad

Its strange that there are 4 — 5 stars and 2 — 1 stars for this place. I had to sign up to put in my 2 cents. It is also strange that all the 5 stars were girls and the 2, now 31 star reviews are seamingly guys. Anyway, i bought beef ribs plate and a beef ribs sandwich. i ordered sweet potatoes and beans. Beans were pretty good. That being said, the sweet potatoes were unedible, it was stringy and in a bowl of brown sugar — and not in a good way. The ribs were huge but they were all bone and basically tasted like beef jerky like another reviewer said. If you like decent bake beans, go to this place. Otherwise, stay away.

One of the bigger Unilocal disappointments that I’ve had. Everything that’s not BBQ comes from straight out of WalMart ValU boxes. The BBQ itself was not cooked correctly, with only parts of it actually tasting like BBQ and the rest like an overcooked slim jim. BBQ sauce was also… from WalMart. Perhaps something has changed in the last year, but what I had wasn’t worthy of seeking out or even stopping for.

After a so-so Restaurant Week experience a couple of years ago, we decided to give Kims another chance. So glad we did! We went on a Wednesday night at 8 and had no trouble being seated immediately. Jeff was a great server and recommended some delicious dishes including the Korean beef and Steamed Bun. We also tried the cheese platter and scallops and weren’t disappointed by any of them! Since it is all small plates, we spent a little more than we usually would, but it was worth it!

The best BBQ in San Diego. It is a hole in the wall but give it a try. The owner is a subdued, older man. No frills, just great BBQ at reasonable prices.

Yummy! Yummy! Yummy… I love the bbq from this place. Its a total hole in the wall with a old man and his bbq smoker out back, but dont let the area scare you from taking a drive and ordering some good ol bbq take out. We always order the whole bbq chicken, greens, baked beans, ribs and corn bread. It reminds me of Real texas bbq not the fake bbq that us so cal people are use to. The chicken is so moist and the sause is so good Corn bread like your grandma made it tasty greens my bf loves the ribs. Enjoy Unilocalers!

This is a quintessential hole-in-the-wall local eatery. They barbecue out back and serve it up cash only at a one-at-a-time counter. Insanely low prices and comfort food the way you need it. Give it a chance and get ready to drool. I have dreams about their great food. My favorite is the lunch — 1 main dish 2 sides like $ 7. My faves are pork ribs, potato salad, and beans, but they have a many more combos available. Delish!
