Knead the Knots

Just did a Groupon with Summer (call her first so you can just pay her directly!), and she made the whole Spray Tan experience comfortable. I had a 5:30pm appointment on a rainy night before heading out of town for the holidays, and she was very positive and upbeat. She gave me a coupon to return for a massage and one for a friend as well, and I definitely plan on returning in the New Year. Thanks Summer! — JA

I just went here for the first time for a deep tissue massage. It was outstanding, My back is already feeling better after just one session. It is a very nice and secluded spot. Summer is very nice knowledgeable, and professional. She even gave me stretches to do on my own time that will help my back. I even went to a doctor before to try to find stretches to help my back ad they wouldn’t even help me. I injured my back from numerous car accidents about 10 years ago. It feels good to know that I can at least lessen the pain a little bit. I will definitely be making another appointment soon.

I highly recommend Knead the Knots to anyone who is in need of a good massage!
I started going to Knead the Knots over a year and a half ago after a shoulder injury. It was so bad, I had very limited strength and range of motion. To combat this, I was taking too many (9 to 12) Aleve just to get through the day. I had never really had a massage before, but several people recommended I try it. I discovered Knead the Knots on Unilocal and they had such great reviews I knew I had to try them.
On my first visit, Summer, the owner, took the time to find out what my issues were and to develop a treatment plan to target that area. Her knowledge of human anatomy was impressive and she even recommended some stretching exercises for me. After three visits I no longer had any pain and was off the Aleve.
Since then, Summer has helped me through a hip injury and a neck injury. I have come to depend on her for twice monthly massages. If I don’t see her regularly, I definitely start to feel tight and some of the kinks start coming back and hurting again. As far as I’m concerned, it’s money well spent if I can get through the day without any pain and without taking any Aleve.

Summer was amazing! She was very professional throughout my waxing appointment. It was my first Brazilian and she made me feel very comfortable the whole time! I would highly recommend her and pricing is very good for the services offered!

This review is long overdue since I have been getting massages with Summer for at least 2 years, she is just amazing! I’m kind of a sissy about deep tissue massage, but I need it and she is really good at digging in deep without it being super uncomfortable and painful, thank you! She has such a sweet and friendly demeanor that you instantly feel comfortable with her, which comes in handy while you are completely naked, striking strange poses in front of her… I’ve gotten many a spray tans from Summer and love those as well, she gives you a lot of good advice about preparing and caring for your spray tan, it’s like she genuinely cares about her clients!!! She does! Which makes her even more of a pleasure to go see! Her place is super cute and right off the freeway!

Summer is a great masseuse. She has done a great job with sports and deep tissue massages which help get me ready for competitions. As someone who wasn’t really into massages, she has made the experience very comfortable.

I am a very tense person! After seeing Summer for a massage I felt absolutely relaxed! I cant wait to see her again. She knows what you need and applies the right pressure. She does not disappoint. Her studio is cute and comfortable and very easy to get to. I recommend everyone see her!

Love the new location. Super easy access right off the freeway in PB. I’ve been getting all of my Brazilian waxes done by Summer for the last year and have been really happy with her work. If you re-​book within 4 weeks you also save $ 10. I’ve lived in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and now San Diego, and she is the best!

Summer is fantastic! She was really great at making me feel very comfortable and relaxed for my first ever spray tan. She gave me great instructions for preparing for my spray tan and for keeping it for a week! I was very very very happy with the results and cannot wait to continue seeing her and being tan all year long!

«I really enjoyed my experience here. I have tried various massage therapists (both domestically and in resorts abroad), and Summer is one of the best. She is personable, knowledgeable about the body (i.e., how it will respond to various massage techniques), and she takes the time to listen to her clients. I was also pleasantly surprised by the ambiance of the space; despite its somewhat odd location (it is inside a hair salon), the scene changes dramatically once you walk through the door, and it is like a compact, clean, and calming spa. My massage was a much-​needed respite from working and chasing around a toddler, and I look forward to returning to this oasis of calm soon.»
UPDATE: Since moving her location to the Pacific Beach area, Summer has made the space her own and worked to create a peaceful environment for her clients. I have been going to her for over a year now, and her massage work has helped me significantly with my pain and tension in the back/​neck/​shoulder areas. It is encouraging to see real results and get a boost in your health every time you go for a massage, and I am grateful to have found this gem.
Also, she offers waxing services, and I have had a very good experience with this (in terms of comfort, skills, and pricing).

Summer is absolutely amazing! She gives the best massage I’ve ever received, hands-​down, and I’ve been to a lot of different massage therapists! I’ve gone to her a couple times for Swedish massages, and each time she was able to work out all of my knots and I felt so incredibly relaxed afterwards. Her studio is quiet, relaxing, and beautiful!

If you want the best massage in San Diego book with Summer. She is absolutely amazing! When I first moved to San Diego I tried several massage places; there was normally one or two things that bugged me. Once I had a massage with Summer I refused to go to anyone else. She is THE BEST in San Diego. I have a lot of tension knots in my shoulder/​neck area as I work in a stressful desk job. She works out the knots and I don’t leave with pain — I leave relaxed and with knot free. I absolutely recommend Summer — she is as good as it gets!

The spray tan is the best I’ve ever had. The color is great and not orange at all. Also it stays on for a long time!
Just got a Brazilian, lip and brow wax from her and the wax she used didn’t hurt as bad as other ways and left my skin very smooth.

I went for a Swedish massage by a recommendation. I wasn’t disappointed and this was one of the best massages I got. You can tell that Summer has a lot of experience which translates into feeling great afterwards. No distractions as the place is very secluded and quite and I don’t have to hear other people walking by. Highly recommended.

Got a Brazilian wax from Summer and I am obsessed!!! The product she uses is amazing and does not leave you sore or tender! Great ambience and super clean. I would recommend this spot to anyone!
