This place caters mostly to tourists. They’re mainly a breakfast and lunch spot that serves beer and wine. It’s busy on the weekends. They have about a dozen tables and outdoor seating only. There’s a great view of the water and breeze. But, there’s limited umbrellas and shade, so bring sunscreen in the chance you don’t get your desired table. The have an average breakfast menu. I ordered the machaca plate that came with beans and tortillas. The machaca mixed with scramble was pretty good for a place like this just offering a few Mexican dishes. There’s was a nice balance. Throw that in a fresh flour tortilla with a couple scoops of fresh salsa for a nice Sunday brunch. The beans were a little different with too much water, but better than anticipated. It’s a nice little spot that has it’s niche.

There cod beer battered tacos are good but there service is terrible very unfriendly for a business. That’s the reason why I rate this place so low. My recommendation is work on your CUSTOMERSERVICE.

We came here and wanted to grab some snacks before our whale watching excursion. Two waitresses at the counter decided it was more important to chat between themselves than take our business. After standing at the counter wanting to order they turned their backs. Finally we left without buying our snacks. One even made us move from our table because she said«a group may be coming soon» we got up and just left instead of ordering!!! We couldn’t win!

We stopped here for a drink and snack before heading out on a whale watch next door; we were made to feel extremely unwelcome, and quickly drank our drinks and left. The waitress, a very tall, young blonde woman, was the cause of this unpleasant experience. There is a sign stating that the outdoor tables are for Landing Grille customers only, so we sat down to order. After we ordered drinks(soft drinks and one beer), our waitress clearly lost interest in our business. We had planned to order some snacks, but she was so rude that we were uncomfortable staying longer. After we told her we didn’t want to order anything else, she stomped off, brought our check, and told us to hurry up because she needed the table for«customers»… I guess we didn’t qualify! We paid and left, sitting on a nearby bench, and noticed that there were four empty tables outside, and no line, so our table clearly wasn’t needed. This was absolutely unnecessary. There is another restaurant in this strip of waterfront stores, so I would never recommend the Landing Grille for any reason.

First time here and came because of the Unilocal reviews. Cute little space next to a tackle shop. Had the clam chowder bread bowl which was very good. Perfect on a cool sunny day. The view is nice too because you’re right by the bay.

I had great experience here while waiting for my husband to arrive from a fishing trip. The woman taking orders and serving was very pleasant and helpful. The lobster tacos were delicious. The French fries could easily feed two people(and I’m not one to share french fries.) If you’re looking for a classy place this isn’t it but really people? You’re at a fishing dock…

Taste: 3 Value: 2 Service: 3 Was here for lunch over the weekend and was not overly impressed. We ordered a calamari sandwich, mahi, cod, and shrimp tacos, mimosa, and bloody mary. The sandwich was the most disappointing. There was so much batter, and very little squid. You could barely taste it through the breading. Compared to Point Loma Seafood and other places, they really need to do better. The tacos were all pretty good. The shrimp were very small, though cook pretty well. The mimosa and bloody mary were both weak, which is a bad sign for how much they charge. Neither of use were won over by this place.

I eat here several times a week. I enjoy the food and the service very much. The soups are homemade and are always excellent. The fish tacos are really good too and so are the burgers and sandwiches. Breakfast dishes are traditional and are nicely done. The servers are very friendly and personable. Disregard those bad reviews from people who ate here once. You will enjoy the food here and the views of harbor are a plus.

All I can say is Excellent! I came here a few years back for a work conference at the Hyatt. Some coworkers and myself hit the broadwalk and stumbled upon Landing Grille. Fast forward almost 4 yrs later… my girlfriend and I are on vacation here and all I can talk about is how wonderful their food was. Well, it worked and off we went! 5 tacos, a bowl of Clam Chowder, and their homemade salsa… and she was saying the same thing! Everything was excellent and they even accommodated my our 55lbs Boxer. This is definitely a must try spot when at Misson Bay and when visiting San Diego

Eating at Landing Grille was a great experience! I visited this little restaurant for breakfast before heading out on a Whale Watching Tour. We had about 30 minutes before we needed to head off. Our server let us know we had plenty of time! Our group ordered, a breakfast sandwich, burrito, potatoes and bacon, as well as coffee! Everything tasted excellent, was fresh, and ready in no time flat. We were there in more than enough time to catch our boat. I highly recommend stopping at Landing Grille before you venture out!

Great little spot to grab a quick bite! The servers are beyond nice and friendly. Always make us feel welcome and they offer suggestions and check in with us throughout the meal. The tacos are delicious and you CANNOT beat the view. Prices may be on the higher side but reasonable for a beachfront restaurant. I would recommend stopping in here anytime!

Made us feel very uncomfortable while ordering a couple of beer and a snack. We where cleaned around and bumped into while sitting inside dinning area so we went outside to one of there tables out of the way and was asked to move from the table when they had 4 empty tables with no prospects of customers unless we was planning on ordering more. We couldn’t even finish our beer. Don’t both with this place as they can’t be bothered with your business

Went here while waiting to attend a wedding down the street and have some good grub. I had the philly cheesesteak and my wife had the fish tacos. Both well worth it. And don’t forget the view. Made for a great experience.

This café is a sweet spot! They have a few indoor and outdoor tables. It’s located right next door to the whale watching/deep sea fishing company. The food is super fresh and delicious. I ordered the veggie sandwich and it was perfect! It’s very decently priced and the service was good. No complaints!

Stopped in before a whale watching cruise to get a quick bit of breakfast. I got two chocolate chip pancakes and a coffee to go. Service was nice, although it seemed incredibly disorganized. I saw someone’s order at the pickup window for about ten minutes before the server even got to it. My pancakes were nothing to shout home about. The batter was kind of chewy and difficult to slice. I needed my butter knife to help. I had a water with the pancakes, but even the water smelled off. Or maybe it was the glass. Either way, it didn’t taste very good. Someone’s bottle of Diet Coke and their keys were in front of me the entire time. I could have made off with both of those had I wanted to. The bottle was knocked over onto the part of the table that was in front of me. I know accidents happen, but why was it even there in the first place? It should have been put somewhere else. The price was a little high — almost $ 7.00 for two pancakes and a coffee. And to top it all off, the«God knows when you don’t tip» button taped to the tip jar came across as tacky to me. I won’t be returning.

This is a tiny little place next door to the Seaforth Sportfishing. They serve beer, sandwiches, and some seafood dishes. I ordered a fish and chips $ 10.25 and a bottle of root beer $ 2.08 The order of fish and chips arrived and there were three pieces of fish similar in size to a fish taco but rectangular shape. The fries were terrible. They were your standard Sysco variety frozen and way too cooked. I thought they were old. I asked them to make me some new ones and they cooked them less so they were edible and a lot better. The fish was a rectangular shape and when I bit into it the shell of the batter fell off making me believe that it was frozen beforehand and then cooked in the deep fryer. Three relatively small pieces of fish and fries for 10.25 is kind of high for a meager little place like this. This place and sportsman’s fish and chips up the road are about the same. Just very average.

This is just your typical old school diner. I was here in the morning, preparing for a whale watching expedition. I grabbed a Bloody Mary and a breakfast burrito. The Bloody was delicious and packed a good kick. The burrito was enormous! The thing must have weighed 3 lbs. and was chock full of eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese potatoes, etc. They served it with some homemade salsa that had great flavor. Landing Grille is sort of tucked away and it’s a tiny little place, but it’s worth finding. The service was attentive, friendly and fast. I’d totally hit this place again.

My husband and I headed over here after a few hours of pedalboating through Mission Bay. It was a Friday afternoon, and there was only one other woman there to eat. Our waitress was nice, if a bit scattered. I Unilocaled everything and we ended up trying a few things. I got the Biscuits and Gravy, my husband got a Rueben and we got two lobster tacos, because everyone raved about them. Not quite sure why. My husband loved his lobster taco, but he doesn’t have the«foodie» taste buds. I was pretty disappointed in it. It was dry and didn’t have a ton of flavor. Maybe they were having an off day. I’d hate to think that this is the best seafood taco that Mission Bay has to offer. The biscuits and gravy were good, but if you get them, expect two eggs under your gravy. Little strange, but I was warned beforehand, so I knew what I was getting myself into. The gravy isn’t outstanding, but it’s passable. More spice? My husbands Reuben looked fantastic and he said it tasted amazing. The waitress brought us some chips and salsa made in-house. Again, the husband loved it, but it just taste like Clamato to me. We sat outside in the back, and the view was great. About 20 feet away, there was a seal sunbathing, so that was pretty cool. The thing that sucked was at the end and the reason for a lost star; we went to pay with our Discover card, but they couldn’t get it to go through.(Our credit limit was far off and we used the card in numerous places after that.) We had to drive back to our hotel while they kept my ID and then come back with a different card.(I didn’t bring my wallet with us for lunch.) It was just annoying and it would have made a difference if we had been offered a discount to make up for having to drive back and forth due to their computer error, but we weren’t. It wouldn’t stop me from going back again if I were right there, but I’m absolutely sure there are better places to eat in the area.
