One of the best burrito shops in San Diego. Why? 1. Fresh ingredients with great flavor. 2. Always innovating with their combinations of ingredients. They are innovators in burritos. This shop is not afraid of combining ingredients in their burritos and lets you add and take out ingredients to customize your way. For example I wanted it a California burrito but I was craving nopales so I asked if I could add them to the burrito. I was expecting to get a weird reaction from the lady taking my order but she did even think about it twice or thought that I was weird. They have a tariyaki burrito, steak and eggs burrito and many others. This Mexican restaurant has taken burritos to a different level! Basically if they have the ingredients on the menu then you can add it to your burrito. They also have a delicious juice bar with great selection of fresh juices and smoothies! They have a significant big parking lot.

Came here looking for a change from the typically packed shop across the street from this place. So many great things about this place! First, there’s plenty of parking! And there’s no line out the door because there’s actually plenty of space inside for their patrons. Once I saw their menu, I knew it’d be something special! I had never heard of any taco shop having carne asada nachos! Yes, Nachos not chips! They were delicious! They come with plenty of carne asada and it’s all for a reasonable price! The only thing keeping me from giving them a full 5 stars is their salsa — it’s a bit watery for my taste and they didn’t have green salsa. If they can perfect their salsa, they will be my new favorite go-to taco shop in Golden Hill!

Let me start with the service, top notch! Very friendly. It was my first time and I asked for some recommendations. They said the California burrito was popular so I tried it and it was AMAZING. like one of the best I’ve had. Will be back again shortly!

Love this Mexican restaurant. I’ve only tried their burritos and green juice so far, but no complaints here. They have a little bit of everything, from American breakfast, Mexican breakfast, Mexican seafood, regular burritos and breakfast burritos. Los Reyes will not disappoint!

$ 14 for quick takeout — shrimp burrito and 4 mini tacos(2 carne asada y 2 al pastor). Perfect, tasty, and friendly service. For a couple blocks’ walk, this is a good place to have around! As many others have noted, they have a large juice menu & breakfast(American and Mexican).

I love the fish tacos and the refried beans here. The tacos have a great sauce, the fish and batter are tasty, the cabbage and pico are very fresh. The beans are hearty and flavorful, very good if you’re into bean and cheese burritos or just getting good beans with your combo. I have only had good service here as well. The cashiers are super friendly and I’ve never waited too long for a meal. If you’re in this neighborhood and deciding between Los Reyes or Humberto’s across the street, I’d definitely recommend here. The only time I ever go across the street is if I’m out late and only Humberto’s is open. If Los Reyes was 24 hours, I’d go there every time. So much more fresh and delicious. I’m moving away from the neighborhood soon, and this is one of the places I will miss.

Los Reyes was yummy! I wasn’t feeling mexican food so I got a turkey torta and french fries. My giant torta had beans on it which I’m not into but duh, I should have asked for it sans frijoles. The turkey and bread was so good and for a buck more, I added french fries. I will be back to try their breakfast items and juices and probably the torta milanesa and maybe the carne asada fries with shrimp ;-). My BF got enchiladas and said the sauce tasted like a cross between mole and red enchilada sauce. They looked yummy and the helping was quite generous!

This is my «go to» local place for a California Burrito. Los Reyes’ California Burrito is very good… even though their prices keep going up, which does not make me happy!!! I think it is obvious that their prices are going up to pay for their restaurant renovations. I think they really need to go back to cheaper prices before they lose customers because I know that I have already started checking out other places since they started raising their prices — almost $ 8.00 for a California Burrito is hard to swallow! Their California Burrito includes the following ingredients: carne asada, pico de gallo, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and potatoes(although they can substitute fries for you if you ask them to do so for you). The California Burrito there cost me $ 7.55. — Here is the breakdown of the cost: — California Burrito: $ 6.99 — Credit Fee: $ 0.00 — Tax: $ 0.56 The California Burrito at Humberto’s cost $ 6.73. — Here is the breakdown of the cost: — California Burrito: $ 6.00 — Credit Fee: $ 0.25 — Tax: $ 0.48 They used to have TJ style tacos de lengua, which I liked getting there. But, they have not had them there in a while. It is very disappointing, especially since they were one of the few places that I could get them around here(aside from going to Tacos El Gordo). I am not sure why they stopped selling them?!

The King Burrito is my favorite burrito in all of San Diego and on it’s own, it’s worth 5stars. I used to order their delicious«caldo de res» meat stew often but last time I ordered this dish I was given big untrimmed pieces of fat, no meat whatsoever., the pieces were literally the size of my fist and so I asked nicely if I could get some meat instead of these gross pieces of fat on my stew to which I got a «what you don’t like the fat?» I said well I don’t mind a piece or two but really all I got was fat please give me some meat or if like my money back. 15minutes later I was given 2ounces of stew meat. Fine, my appetite was ruined and well I don’t think I’ll be back for a while. On top of that. This place used to be open till midnight on the weekends and one day(sometime in the past month) they decided to close at 11pm then at 10pm. Walked in at 9:45 pm doors open customers eating and open signs still on and was told they were closed…, ok.

Prices can be improved, but the service and food are both adequate. Nice neighborhood spot but you can tell the menu options are an effort to compete with the taco shop and fruit & deli across the street. Overall, not a bad experience

I’ve lived by this place for 2 years and only gotten the king burrito which has always been on point. However, after recently branching out and ordering other food, everything else I have gotten has been far below par. Tacos are nothing special, horchata tastes nasty, and they have no idea what a quesadilla is. I wanted a carne asada quesadilla. Meat and cheese right? No. Instead I got a weird mixture of lettuce and tomatoes barely any meat, and NO cheese. Done going here when you can walk across the street and go to Humberto’s, everything I get there has been delicious.

Best taco shop in Golden Hill hands down. It always amazes to see the line coming out of Humberto’s when this place blows them out of the water. Their carnitas are the jam but lately I’ve been obsessed with the king burrito. The fact that they make fresh juices really takes the whole thing to another level.

I stopped in Los Reyes to pick to have some street tacos, given that’s what I was in the mood for. They have a daily specials were you get four of your choice for $ 4.99 with access to the salsa bar of course. I ordered two carne asada and two al pastor. I liked that they served the tacos with a couple of wedges of lime, but the wedges they gave me were unfortunately dry, therefor useless. The taco were okay, but had room for improvement. For instance, the Al Pastor flavor of the pork meat was rather weak and so was its color. This pork meat needed to marinate much longer to develop that rich chile flavor al pastor traditionally provide. On a good note, the pork morsels were tender, but the flavor was not there. The carne asada was a little better, but it was missing that traditional mesquite grilled flavor that Mexican Carne Asada Street Tacos provide. The meat on these tacos was prepared on a hot griddles and it also needed seasoning. The rest of the ingredients on both tacos were okay. The guacamole was very light in flavor, meaning it needed to be seasoned, and the meat was a mix bag. Some of the pieces were tender and others a little chewy. I think they can improve on the uniformity of the texture of the beef. On a good note, there red hot sauce at the salsa bar packed some serious heat and provided good flavor. I drowned the tacos in this to spruce them up a bit. Service at the counter was down to earth and quite friendly. Overall, I am settling for a 2.5 given the lackluster flavor profile of the street tacos. In the end, I would get something else here, because I am sure they make better food than I experienced.

This is on the top of my go to list when it comes to mexican food. They also have juices, smoothies and even offer a good ol american breakfast ! I know, I know how can u possibly get tired of mexiacn food? ! Well I am mexicam so sometimes some bacon, scrambled eggs and pancakes is what im in the mood for! I use to live with in walking distance so I was here often. Prices are really reasonable and portions generous. Only thing I do not recommend is the horchata. It’s real bland and a bit watered down. I thought maybe it was just the one time but literally anytime I’ve ordered it so I’m over it. Staff is nice. Salsa bar is awesome. I definitely recommend this place over lucha libre in mission hills/old town.

What can I say about this place?! ITSFANTASTIC. The guys who own this place are brothers from Michuacan and they are salt of the earth. It shows in their customer service and FOOD! My favorite; Menudo, Caldo de res, mexican fruit salads, liquado de platano con chocolate, and the carne asada burrito! It’s always very clean and they have recently renovated. They have their own little parking lot and the neighborhood isn’t that shady! GOHAVESOMECALDODERES! You won’t be sorry!

Down in Golden Hills for a late night bite to eat, I was on my way to Humbertos across the street but then I saw Los Reyes sitting over there with an empty parking lot. Of course I love trying new Mexican places, so I went over to take a look at the place. I notice from all their signs out front( ) that they’re rather proud of their variety of burritos they offer there. The place its self looks kinda dumpy on the outside( ), but that’s never stopped me before from trying out a new taco shop. After walking into the place, I quickly noticed that they serve a lot of smoothie stuff here too with their seperate menu to right( ). They also offer ICECOFFEE here( ), I’m usually a fiend for this stuff, but I wasn’t in the mood that night. Instead I took a look at Unilocal and noticed people favored their tortas here a lot, so I decided to give them a try along with some rolled tacos. My carne asada torta( ) came in a smaller container. The bread wasn’t soggy at all( ) but they didn’t really take the time to toast the bread or crisp it up for me, disappointing. The torta came with asada, cheese, beans, guac, lettuce and some tomatoes. While the bread was a bummer for me the meat was delicious here, great seasoned chunks of carne asada. The beans I couldn’t really taste the best but the guac was really good, chunks of avocado rather than the runny crap you get from some places. The three chicken rolled tacos( ) turned out perfect. The rolled up shells were crispy and didn’t taste too greasy from the fryer at all. The moist shredded chicken inside tasted great and they didn’t skimp on it like some places do. On top of the tacos they added guac, lettuce, tomato and cheese for nothing extra. All the ingredients here were fresh tasting and went together quite well. The salsa bar at Los Reyes( ) wasn’t the best I’ve seen but their hot sauce was quite spicy. The hot carrots were alright, not vinegary A lot of Unilocalers have quoted this place as having really great hot sauce compared to other shops, I tend to disagree but the sauce isn’t that bad. Humbertos in my opinion would be the better place to go for spicy sauce. Los Reyes hit the spot for me, it wasn’t a standout place in my opinion but it definitely isn’t bad by any count. Maybe I should come back to give their burritos a shot, since they seem to advertise them so much.

Awesome place it’s been up and running for a while, I have been here many times and never disappointed, staff is cool, cooks are fast and have only missed my order once. Food wise, the carnitas are grate, you can get a couple tacos or by the pound… they come with rice and bean and tortillas. Another dish I really like is the Chilakiles with carne asada in green chili sauce, its one of the best in my opinion… Over all a good spot, I will keep returning to try more dishes as long as they keep up the good work, they get full 5 *****.

This place is Awesome! The food is great. The drinks are always fresh. Thry have a vrry nice salsa bar with carrots and cucumber freshly sliced. Downside is sometimes the homeless are right outside at the bus stop. But I got over that already. Try the bistek ranchero plate. I get that with 3 eggs over easy on top.

The King Burrito here is BETTER than the Surfin’ California at Lucha Libre. Thats a fact. And guess what? you dont have to deal with Lucha’s tiny parking lot, ridiculous line or no open tables. Awesome red sauce too.
