ZERO stars! I want people to know how unprofessional and even crooked this business is. There are options asides from this place and I strongly advise to steer clear of this sketchy place. I went there as new to the neighborhood and convenient proximity to my place but there’s a cleaners literally one block further. Two of my neighbors said they wished that they could have warned me. They both had horrible stories and mine is unbelievable. I could go into all the whole big long story with all the details but I won’t. If you’re interested ~ message me. I’m going to the consumer protection group (s). I can see what the Better Business Bureau has to say regarding my situation or maybe there’s a legal route to pursue. This business could care less. Avoid this place! (why isn’t there a zero stars option or a mark meaning warning ~ try this place at your own risk ~ ill advised)

I expect very little from a dry cleaner: take my dirty clothes, clean said clothes, and return said clothes. I was pretty angry when the pants I picked up were in the exact same condition as when I dropped them off — save being ironed, hung on a cheap hanger, and covered in plastic. I guess I am mistaken and Mak cleaners is really an ironing and hanging service?
Maybe I ask too much from a dry cleaner, but I will never go back here again and I suggest you don’t either. It is a shame, because I cannot beat the convenience of walking across the street. Oh well. There are plenty of other dry cleaners that won’t forget the ‘dry clean’ side of a dry cleaning business.

Considering the location I really want to like this place and have given it many chances. I have had clothes come back dirtier than when I dropped them off, and they are frequently late. I asked for a discount because I needed that particular dress and didn’t have time to get it cleaned again. I was denied. Another serious annoyance, although this is not completely unique to this dry cleaner. If a woman drops an identical button up shirt as a man to be cleaned and pressed they are charged $ 5.50. A button up shirt for a man is $ 2.50.

I come to Mak Cleaners, Little Italy to have my high heels repaired. I am all for small business and I have brought a pair of shoes here before. I was happy with their work until today.
When I brought two pairs of shoes in I was quoted $ 15 to have new heel posts/​caps put on. Happy with the price and my previous experience I left two pairs of shoes for the same repair, both are moderately priced shoe brands BCBG and Nine West.
My total was $ 60! No breakdown of the work completed, just a total. When I questioned the price, I was told that the store doesn’t handle the shoe repairs and that shoes are sent out.
Before signing the receipt I inspected both pairs of shoes. It is noticeable that they «repaired» a line of stitching on my black patent leather shoe with BROWN string! The second pair is uneven, one heel post is now taller than the other! Additionally, the shoe repairer colored in the scuff marks on both shoes with what looks like a black permanent marker!
The employee behind the counter could not help me. She just asked «Do you want me to send them back, so they can fix them?» …Uhm, No! I tried that already, remember? And they messed up my shoes and over charged me!
Don’t bother to take shoes here and from what I read, it’s not a good idea to take your clothes here either.

For the price you pay, your better off to just walk on by. I asked for Heavy Starch and these people didn’t even use any starch at all. I had all my shirts done here to test how good they were and BOY was I disappointed. I had no idea they could have done such a bad job abd called themselves a cleaners. Pass this place by.

I am still going to shop around for a good place to do my dry cleaning. The location is pretty easy for me to get to and is right next to 7 Eleven. My life in San Diego has taught me I like brunch, making money, electrolytes, bottomless anything, and 7 Eleven. So it is very attractive to me in terms of location.
I don’t like the overly chemical smell when inside, and I find the place a bit too dark. I don’t think it matters much but there it is.
Cost:
$ 12.93 for a Women’s two piece suit
$ 15.93 for a long black dress (not a fancy dress)
Two suits and the dress were dropped off Thursday and were available for pick up Monday.
I dunno I have have found better deals elsewhere.
I had no problem with the way my clothing looked. Everything looks nice and clean like it should.
I asked about getting a zipper fixed or replaced and they said it would be $ 40, which is sorta insane.
I will keep looking about for new places and hopefully will find a place that has a perfect balance of good price and good work.

Good job… not the best, but the convenience for me and my wife is everything! Prices are okay. I have had problems with others in the neighborhood too, including lost items, which is the worst. So I take my stuff here and havent had any issues.

Mak Cleaners is to dry cleaning what Justin Bieber is to music. They should both find another line of work.
I brought an item in to be hemmed, and when I got home after picking it up I realized that while I’d been charged, they hadn’t done any work. Rad. I brought it back, and when I picked it up – the second time and a week later – I saw that they did a simply awful job. I listened to the cashier girl’s odd excuse and walked off.

Great prices… nice service and everything ready as promised. Really what more could you ask for. Highly recommend especially afar dealing with some of the local competition.

I work in a profession that requires a lot of dry cleaning, so I’m always on the hunt for quality cleaning at a reasonable price. Decent customer service is nice but if often a perk for many dry cleaning places.
This place has none of the above. The saleswoman was absolutely clueless as to how to even ring up my tab. The place charged me for two separates instead of a full suit, and charged a dress shirt as a «blouse» for $ 6. It wasn’t even that clean.
I’m sorry I didn’t listen to the Unilocalers before me. Stay away!

Avoid this place! Yes, I know it is tempting and convenient if you live in Little Italy but it is so not worth trying!
They overcharge for cleaning, especially for «specialty items» such as blazers and whatever they use to clean your clothes smells terrible.
Also, made the mistake of taking a pair of shoes to be repaired there. They said they would call me with an estimate of the price. Week passed… no call. I stopped in to ask, my shoes were not there and they had no clue about what the cost would be or if they had been fixed yet!
I went back a week later and my shoes were repaired, without ever receiving a call about pricing or completion, and they were not repaired how I wanted!
Unprofessional staff.

I’m all for writing a great review when deserved. I’m used to excellent dry cleaning on east coast, here you couldn’t even tell my clothes were dry cleaned.
We have a service at our building but I figured, I’ll go over to the next block and give these guys a fair chance as it’s always great to have an independent biz around. Well was I wrong.
My bill was $ 55 for 1 coat, 5 dress shirts, 2 summer dresses… way too expensive!
The coat was not cleaned the first time around, they never cleaned the underlining especially the sleeves and when I write this I’m sure they will remember me. So I took it back, not that tragic expecting it to come back in perfect shape.
They must have just flipped enough of the sleeve to clean it by the wrist edge yet still the underlining was dirty. So I figured, ok, let me check if these stains are permanent and perhaps they tried and couldn’t take them out, I ran warm water, without any cleaning fluid just rubbed the water into the polyester lining with my finger to see it all come off. That’s not the type of cleaning service I expected so unfortunately for Mak Cleaners I would not recommend them at all. Sorry.
Additionally the 2^nd time around the underlining of my fleece coast did get damaged a bit on a seem so I do agree with other reviewers that they don’t know what they’re doing and the clothes do not smell nice and fresh, even my white shirts that were to be washed and ironed did not really look well pressed.
Long story short, I will not be going back there, we have a better service at our building and if these guys want to survive Little Italy where almost every high rise has their own dry cleaning service they better step it up and learn how to dry clean properly
