Ahh, good olé’ college bars. Definitely looking back on it now and shuddering. If they are still doing the 2 dollar you call it Thursdays, go here for drinks then. –GIRLS/GUYS– Ratio is variable, I been here on nights where there were 2 girls to 1 guy, but then also the reverse. It depends on the night I suppose. Met alot of bros though, and wasn’t surprised. –WHATSHOULD I ORDER– If they are still doing the two dollar you call it Thursdays, then this might be the bar for you. So here is how it works, basically, anything you order is 2 dollars unless otherwise stated. So we did 10AMF’s for 20 $ + 8 $ tip = 28 $. –HOWISTHESERVICE– Overall, there are 2 bars, one in the main room and the other outside by the patio. It was crowded and it definitely can be hard to get some drinks. But overall, everyone has to wait so it isn’t just you. –WHATISTHEPRICE– Depending on how much you order, I would say the average is 25 $ a person if you are buying rounds. Source: I been here about 12 – 15 times since 2010.

Moondoggies used to be where PB jerk city would congregate. That’s not the case anymore. Not due to any revamp though. It’s because it’s gotten such a reputation, that people tend to just walk by and remember what it used to be like. You know — waiting in line for an hour to pay $ 10 on a Friday or Saturday night, to go inside and fight for one square foot of standing space. I caught word that they are going out of business soon also. Probably doesn’t help their cause. There are pool tables, and there is a decent patio area that’s open air. It just doesn’t attract the crowd, or appeal to many people these days.

This review is mainly for their Wing Wednesday deal. WHICHISAWESOME! Each wing costs 35 cents and you have to order them in round of 5. They have a variety of sauces to choose from; my favorites are the classic buffalo and texas massacre but they also have soy ginger, spicy honey mustard, spicy thai, and so many more that I can’t remember right now. You can also get a round of 25 wings with two different sauces for $ 6.25. Pitchers of bud/bud light are $ 8. Service is very slow, especially if you’re in a big group, but you can’t really expect the best at a bar during their food deals. There’s indoor and outdoor seating, which they allow dogs only during the day(don’t get this rule.). There are two bar areas and you can call ahead and reserve the back area if you’re planning on having a huge group. It’s a fun place to catch a game as well because they have a bajillion TVs all over the bar. My boyfriend comes here during the UFC fights and they usually have a big projector set up.

Came here right before the Super Bowl last year and watched my 9ers beat the Falcons to make it to the main event! I had a great time, granted I was already a few drinks in from other bars, but I do remember the outdoor patio area being a cool place to hang out. Our server was friendly and the food(a friend ordered a salad) was actually pretty decent considering it was«bar food». I haven’t been back because I don’t frequent the PB area often, but I could see myself returning at some point if in the area.

How have I not reviewed Moondogs yet? I love this place! I end up here at least once a weekend. I’ve had most things on their menu and have never been unhappy with the selection or taste. Happy Hour is the best time to come because it’s inexpensive – lots of good specials. That being said, the specials vary each day which I really appreciate because I don’t want to always eat and drink the same things. I love watching football here with a group of friends(and this year my fantasy league), because we can watch all of the different games. The best part about Moondogs is that it’s half inside/half outside. There are 3 pool tables, 2 bars, plenty of space. They keep the heaters on outside, so you can comfortably sit out in the evenings. I also love the music they play at night – some old school mixed in with the new. By far one of my favorite places to hang out in PB!

Moondoggies has some GOOOD food! Every day there is a different special going on. Happy hour is amazing because all the apps are half off! Highly recommend the Mac Bites, Chicken Pesto Pizza, Moondoggies Chicken Sandwich, Carnitas Tacos, Chicken Tenders(with a side of BBQ Ranch!), Beef Skewers, and the list can go on and on! For sure try the ‘Ice Cream Nacho’s’ which are not on the menu(and for like $ 5 its well worth it)!

Cheap drinks and alright music. Moon doggies was definitely a fun place to relax and unwind. It was packed but not too packed the Friday night I came in. I like the openness of the space here. I also enjoy the heat lamps. My problem with this place was the amount of creeps running amuck here. They all had the same opening line! They’d sit down and say sorry I’m late lol my friend and I were so sick of hearing this by the end of the night. I did like the music selection for the most part. It was a lot of hip hop. Good place for cheap drinks and a mellow night.

Moondoggies is a cool place to hang out. I like the fact that there are no doors and most of the restaurant is outdoors. It’s a great spot if you want to grab drinks and just relax since it has that cool California vibe. Food was just ok. It’s not the place to go if you want a great meal. They had an awesome happy hour special — buckets of beer and wings. I forgot how much the price was, but it was really cheap. We ordered 100 wings in 5 different flavors. I suggest avoiding the italian parm flavor of wings. It really just tastes like spaghetti. The bartenders also make the drinks rather strong, so they get bonus points for that.

Had a great time watching the Buckeyes play football this Saturday. After 3 pm there was 8 dollar pitchers. Crowd was rowdy, only one guy was being«that guy» though, so not that bad for PB. Definitely a cool experience. Not a buckeyes fan, but my roommate is and everyone in there was like family with each other. They have an outdoor patio area where you can smoke without having to leave. Wings were meh, carne asada fries were pretty legit though. Probably will be back on a Saturday before the end of the season, good times.

Delicious nachos and great staff for Saturday College Football. The parking is a bit hard to find since you have to park in the neighborhood and on the weekends, you have to compete with the beach goers.

I came to Moondoggies with a few friends on Sat night. I had a pretty good time. BUT I noticed on my bank account when I got home that there was an extra couple of dollars added on! I ordered drinks and my tab was $ 10.50 I paid with my card and tipped in cash. My bank statement said 12.60?!? Seems like the bartender is skimming a little bit from each customer because my friend noticed an extra 2.00 tacked on her account as well. Because of this I will NOT be going back to Moondoggies. UNTRUSTWORTHY!

Just a bit of context before I begin: I haven’t been inside this place in years, and I haven’t been on Unilocal for very long, so this review might not reflect the current state of this establishment. I feel like a jerk for deducting stars from my true rating for Moondoggies based on certain instances, but it’s only appropriate. This place used to be better. I used to come here all the time, even before the renovation. Drinks were much cheaper, the crowd was much more excited and lively. Came here for taco tuesday with a friend one time. Before this, I had only been here on either a Thursday night or Friday night. The tacos weren’t exactly at par with other places in the area. I’ll cut them some slack though, as it hadn’t been too long after they finished renovating. They were strict on the dress code the last time I attempted to enter. My hunch is that if I’m not a girl or if I don’t show up with a giant group, they probably won’t let any dress code rules slide. All that they found questionable was the sleeveless shirt I happened to be wearing as a planeteer when we were in a superhero bar crawl. They missed out on a significant amount of business that night, but perhaps they had a clientele standard to maintain. So we went to Johnny V’s, and they gave us no trouble. I always give security a ton of credit because they single-handedly ensure our safety as patrons. However, I fail to understand why a sleeveless shirt worn as part of a costume would cause any trouble at all. That cost this place at least 20 patrons worth of business. Sounds like somebody may have had an off night. That or I walked much too fast in front of the others. At this point, I can’t say I’d enthusiastically recommend this place since I don’t notice much hype or improvement from before. I’d normally give this place at least an extra star if I didn’t have a few specific moments of buzzkill. Don’t get me wrong, the food, décor, and service is fine. It’s just that it won’t wow you. If you expect nothing, you’ll like the place.

Came here for the Wing Wednesday deal. I thought the wings were pretty good, especially compared to other wing Wednesday places, but the waiter was inattentive and didn’t ever come back to check on us(even though the place wasn’t busy at all). I would never make a huge effort to return but might stop by for some wings if I happened to be in the area on a Wednesday night.

I would probably give this bar 3 stars if it weren’t an Ohio State bar. I hate Ohio State. With my soul. Other than that, it’s fine. It has a nice outdoor area and a front and back bar. Music is okay. People are douchey, but hey, it’s Pacific Beach.

Horrible service!!! I waited over 25 min for a waitress the hostess told me ill get her and she’s coming over 3x. Finally after getting a waitress and our food I asked her for a fork at least 3x till she finally got it. The food was ok not great the drink specials were good but that’s about it. If you want horrible service and waitresses moondoogies is your place

I don’t remember much about this place since it was later on into the night and I was pretty tipsy. But I do remember playing pool on the second table lying parallel to the glass wall. Yeah. Don’t play on that table. You’ll be caught in the most awkward shots. My shooting hand was up over my head to extend enough to hit the cue ball. It looked weird. But in all fairness, it got me laughing and it got my friends laughing at me.

Wings Wednesday! .35 each. Bub’s is .25BUT you have to buy a drink for each person too. The wings at Moondoggies taste better and are bigger too! I got the soy ginger and the lemon garlic… soooooo good! Food came out sort of slowly but when we ordered a second round, the food came out RIGHT away. Delicious! Will come here often hehe :)

Had a hard Hump-day? Mosey on over to Moondoggies for their Wing Wednesdays. Wings were .25 but I think they’re now .35. Which is STILL perfectly fine with me! The tomatillo & the spicy honey mustard are out of this world!(i never say that… so that should tell you somethin’). The only thing keeping me from mousing over the 5th star is the service. I’m not a stickler about this issue because I’m super patient. But it never fails, everytime I’m here, the service is just … *thumbs down with a farting noise*. (because I can’t think of an appropriate word.)

Sunday brunch is pretty great if that’s your thing. Not the typical rowdy Friday night crowd. Food is good, plenty of seating inside and out, Josh was working the bar and was on point, as was our server. Plus, they have Bingo from 11 until 1, which makes it extra fun. I’ll say it again… Friday night or Taco Tuesdays, this is not my scene. But Sundays… yeah, Sundays are for Moondoggies as far as I’m concerned(especially pre or post kickball).

Moondoggies and I never cross paths at night these days, but a spontaneous lunch here this past sunny Saturday reminded me just how legit a place it is for grabbing a bite to eat and a few daytime drinks in an casual atmosphere. The major remodel about 2 years ago served Moondoggies very well. The bathroom situation is now bearable – actually, the ladies restroom is quite nice – and there’s a good amount of seating both inside and outside. Staff, please fill the bases of the new umbrellas up with water. Not cool to have umbrellas blowing over on customers(me) during lunch. Nearly lost an eye! Speaking of lunch, my cobb salad, which I asked to be chopped, was delicious. Large, fresh, and full of ingredients. My friend ordered a basket of chicken tenders and fries; they were yummy, just not my kind of food. Come here knowing that service is hit or miss, and, although Moondoggies is generally child-friendly during daytime hours, I wouldn’t suggest bringing impressionable little ones here. Such is my advice for most places in PB.
