Unfortunately, this place is closed. I went there the other day for lunch and there was a Chinese restaurant in its place.

We stopped here for a quick lunch after a stop at Kaiser. My wife ordered the chicken salad sandwich. I ordered the ½ chicken &2 rib combo. The total for the two plus bevrages was @$ 27.00. The chicken salad sandwich was tasty, and on fresh italian roll, approx 12inches. My combo was very good. I had Med. Green beans and coleslaw for my sides. Both left you wanting more. The ribs melted off the bones and were delicious. The chicken was tasty. The BBQ sauce is vinegar based and matched the chicken well. Pro: Very good meal. Clean establishment Prompt & pleasant service Neg: Price — not outrgageous or unwarranted — just not inexpensive Now for the irony… Served«authentic Southern iced tea» UNSWEETENED… not in the southern US. Any true southerner would tell you it’s never«unsweetened»…LOL Overall…would recommend and return again.

I just came home and opened the bag and looked to find that there is no chicken. I ordered the ribs & chicken combo. The guy which I’m assuming is the owner that took my order by phone. It wasn’t busy so I don’t know where the mistake was. He knew what I was ordering because he asked me if I wanted the 2 or 4 rib combo. Unfortunately it wasn’t a combo. It was just 4 ribs and fries!!! The ribs were just OK so the food was not good enough for me to forgive them and go back. So I didn’t attempt to go back and claim my chicken. I don’t know what the other reviewers were thinking praising this place.

Been coming here for years, always get great food, generous portions and service from the owner, at a fair price. Don’t be confused with another(inferior) restaurant with the same name on Miramar Road. The roasted chicken is great and love those mediterranean style green bean and potatoes. Wife always goes for the Meat Loaf. Fresh bread tops off the meal. Of course every place has it’s off days, and this place even on an off day, it’s better than you’re going to find elsewhere.

Great rotisserie and homestyle food for great prices. FRIENDLYSTAFF. Get there between 11 – 4 for super cheap daily specials. Like really cheap. COMBO plate is easily 3 meals for $ 15

Excellent roasted chicken. I stop in here a few times a month when I’m craving, fresh, juicy, roasted chicken. I usually go for either the roasted chicken sandwich with a side of potato salad, or the Mr. Chick’s chicken rice bowl. I’ve also had the gyro, which is quite good, but I love the chicken. One thing that really makes the roasted chicken sandwich stand out is the bread. It’s always fresh and very soft. If you’re looking for a healthy, all-inclusive meal, try the rice bowl. It comes with rotisserie chicken breast(you can ask for dark meat or a mix of white/dark), rice, Mediterranean green beans and corn. Either way, you won’t be hungry when you leave.

Tried Mr. Chick for the first time yesterday. I had a living social deal that was for a picnic for 10 people. Quantity was amazing, could easily have fed 14 people and most of what we ordered was tasty. If I were to order again(which there is a high probability of) I would not get the roasted potatoes and have gotten the potato salad instead. What we did enjoy was the chicken, coleslaw, and bread. Price was very reasonable with the deal. People working there were so very friendly and helpful. Thank you for a great experience.

A little less than what we expected(see below), but friendly and communicative owner, Amir, made it worth the trip. As described in Unilocal reviews, décor is unremarkable. But clean. Nice to see several neighborhood people eating there with families and alone, both.(We went for a late dinner on weeknight.) Menu: as previously described, unremarkable. No interesting flavorful creations. We had rotisserie chicken, teriyaki bowl, lentil soup and drinks. Used 20 $ value for 10 $ amazon coupon. The lentil soup was an original, and lovely. Greek side salad was unremarkable. Potatoes(grilled cubes) were better than average. Teriyaki bowl probably was the best item — fresh broccoli, tender moist tasty chicken cubes, good white rice, and Okay teriyaki sauce flavoring, not too heavy, but sweet(as Teriyaki is??) I wondered about the chicken, it seemed hard on the outside. But was alright though a bit dry once into the deep meat. Not as good as Pollo Loco, about the same as the supermarket. Amir was patient and helpful. Funny, attentive and easy to talk to. Great service. Now since I know what Im getting, I would keep it on my REVISIT list. But wouldn’t make a special trip.

Been here a handful of times. The cheese steak is good but doesn’t really taste like a cheese steak. The gyro is good but not the best that I have ever. Fries, salad, and potatoes are all well flavored. Owner is a friendly, cool guy who like many here have said, actually tries to take care of his customers and make you happy. Likewise random workers there don’t care. What kills me here is that they either don’t have AC or they don’t use it because it’s boiling hot in there whenever I’ve been inside so just get food to go.

Unfortunately, this is going to be a bad review. The location Is easy to find, plenty of parking. I had an amazon coupon $ 10 for $ 20 worth of food. We walk in, rather dark place. A few people eating, very very quiet. We walk up to the register, huge menu, easy to navigate. We decide on what to order, but wait… where is the cashier? The cook eventually comes out of the kitchen, she asks us what we want to order. I show her the coupon, she looks confused, looks around for something and eventually gives us the okay to order. I order an order of buffalo style tenders, a side of fries, and a plain gyro and fry combo. She says the coupon requires two drinks. $ 2.00+ a drink. Yikes! I say, to cancel the side of frys and get two drinks. She fumbles around, re-does the order twice. Finally we are presented with a $ 23.50 total. We sit down, the gyro comes out. With everything on it. I said plain. Seriously? Shouldn’t that make it easier? They take it back. A few minutes later both the buffalo chicken tenders and the gyro come out. First thing I notice, where the heck are the fries with the gyro combo? I look at the receipt, the cashier canceled the gyro combo frys also! Wtf?!? The buffalo tenders were pathetic. It was about three pre frozen tenders cut in halves. They managed to screw that up making them soggy. The sauce was interesting. The gyro was good. Nothing spectacular. But with the fries(if she didn’t cancel them) I would have preferred it over Daphne’s. So for $ 23 I got three soggy tenders and a plain gyro. No fries, or anything else. Super expensive. I could have went to a actual restaurant and got more food. Do your self a favor, all the negative reviews are accurate. I should have listened. Two stars for the gyros and a fixing the messed up order without any hassle.

Used a reader city deal and was worth it. I don’t think I’d come back without some kind of discount.

Came here to have some lunch and I got the ¼ roasted chicken meal w/roasted potatoes and Mediterranean green beans. The chicken tasted old. The roasted potatoes were drenched in some red oil. And the beans were from a can. Reminded me of cafeteria food.

I love chicken and this place is very good. I used to go to the same place off Murphy Canyon Road near the Chargers practice field and was sad when they closed it down. Was glad to find out that there was another place in the Grantville area that I «found» recently. The chicken is rotisserie cooked and very flavorful and tasty. I’ll be back since I’ve found you again and you’re not too far from where I work. Plus you get a punch card and can get a free meal after you’ve been a few times. The service was very good and they do have everyday specials.

This was some good food! I like restaurants like this. Not a big chain, very warm welcome feeling. I’m going to have to come back for more!

Just came in to this place right across the street from me for the first time a few days ago about 730pm after a great hard workout at the gym down the road. I had a $ 20 coupon to use so now was the time to make the most of it. When I came in the place had 1 other customer inside wait to get his meal for take out. I was about to do the same. I looked over the menu and decided on the #1 family meal deal as well as a Mr. Chicks Chicken and Rice bowl. The Family Meal Deal I opted for was the whole chicken, 2 large sides(roasted potatoes for both) which comes with 3 large sized Italian bread chunks. The rice bowl is white meat skinless shredded chicken on top of white rice in just a little bit of tomato sauce and spices. This is then topped with salsa and corn. I was very please with my purchase selections as I got all of my items(see the picture) for just a bit over $ 26. This would easily be enough to feed 3 people with the meal deal alone. The Chicken and Rice bowl is a great 1 person meal in itself and taste pretty darn good as well as being good for you. This is what I ended up eating as soon as I got home along with of 1 of the 3 Italian bread pieces. The next day I devoured the very nicely roasted red potatoes and tender fall off the bone chicken between lunch and dinner. I did peal off the skin however being a health nut and all but even so the meat was super moist, tender and tasty. The owner who serving me while I ordered and waited was very friendly and kind as well. He talked with me about the Stanley cup playoffs, dodgers and their establishment like he had known me for years… I like that when managers and owners get to know their customers. Shows genuine care for the people that help keep them in business. With food like this, at these prices and only a jump across the road from me, I will be back to Mr. Chicks many more times indeed!

Best grilled chicken in town. The use just the right amount of dressing on their Greek salad. And thei warm bread just does it for me.

Although the lady working the phones and the counter had a personality that left much to be desired, the food made up for it. Roasted potatoes are scrumptious, the chicken is flavorful and the gyro meat was pretty darn good.

Excellent food. I recommend the BBQ pulled chicken sandwich as well as the Gyro. Haven’t had a chance to try everything else, but its hard to try other things when those menu items are soooo good. The gyro meat is cut thick and its very moist. Mr. Chick uses plenty of Tzaziki sauce as well that has fresh cut cucumbers in it. Also, the bread is soft, but doesn’t fall apart. I also enjoy the mashed potatoes and the steak fries. The fries have a great seasoning always come out hot and crisp. They’re prices are extremely reasonable and the quality is definitely above and beyond for a fast service restaurant. Personal and fast service keeps you coming back. Try this place out if you are in the Mission Gorge area!

I tried the chicken and rib combo. The chicken was deliciously seasoned and falling off the bone. The ribs were also tender and falling off the bone but I’m not impressed by the sauce. I prefer a sweet sauce like at West Coast BBQ. The fries were great! They were the big thick ones and very similar in taste to Red Robin fries. The service was speedy. The owner who was behind the counter was very friendly. Next time I’ll just go for the chicken!
