For food court sushi this is a great lunch spot if you’re in the area. The daily special is usually $ 10.75 with tax and has never let me down. If you are having a sushi craving at lunch and don’t have time for a proper sit-down meal Narabi fits the bill. DFTBA ~ chase

I can’t remember what I ordered. It may have been called the Baja roll, but I’m not positive. I do know it had cuts of jalapenos on top that gave it a nice twist. The roll was standard size and I didn’t feel like they were skimping on the fish on top. Most importantly, the fish wasn’t fishy, which was my main concern for getting sushi in a food court. Have you ever had fishy sushi? Blah! The price was okay. I think I paid about $ 9ish for it, which is what I expected. So not overwhelming, but not underwhelming either.

I had never wanted to eat at this place because food court sushi didn’t appeal to me. However, one day as I was cruising past people’s tables I noticed a bento box that looked pretty darn good. I ordered said bento box for about eight bucks and it was pretty great! I mean not best sushi I’ve ever eaten great, but good food court lunch hour great. The bento box comes with a roll, three pieces of sushi, salad, miso soup and tempura vegetables. Yum!

So we all have a favorite«discount» sushi place. You know, the place you go when you crave sushi and don’t want to spend $ 50. Imagine that place in a food court, cooking in a stainless steel kitchen instead of a humble old building at a sushi bar. Daily specials is what this place is about. $ 8.95 plus tax. Usually 2 – 3 things, filling, and gets your fix on. The home made«sashimi bowl» hot sauce is awesome on pretty much everything. It tastes like BBQ sauce Asian style. I am guessing it is a molasses based sauce with a red pepper to give it zip. It is better than just normal old Siracha, which they also have. Drive there? No. I work just above it, and it is a great choice if you happen to be nearby and the special is up your ally. Today I had a Cali roll, topped with Salmon, about 5 pieces of Mixed Tempura, and Udon soup. The Udon noodles were sooo good. Tempura was decent, fresh. The sushi is minimalist, but FRESH. Fresher is always better. A very happily spent $ 10 sushi fix for me!

Really mediocre. Not happy with what I got as far as sushi goes. The katsu meal was pretty good, but a bit dry and they gave only a little sauce. But that is the best plate here…

Located in the Sorrento Valley Food Court this sushi stop is a very convenient location since I work in Mira Mesa, and much better than that sushi place across. The first time I tried it I had the daily special which consisted of an En Fuego Roll, 4 fried dumplings, and miso soup for the price of 7.95. The En fuego roll had spicy tuna and cucumber in the center, and on top thinly sliced tuna layered with beautifully sliced avocado, each piece topped with a thin slice of fresh jalapeño and drizzled with sriracha. The tuna was beautiful and buttery and fresh. All of the extras were good(just not my thing) and a bonus to the roll I found surprisingly delicious. Today’s special was the Sunrise roll, half order of Chicken Teriyaki, and Miso soup. The sunrise roll had spicy tuna and shrimp tempura in the center with beautifully sliced fresh salmon on the top. Each piece was topped off with a thin slice of fresh jalapeño, and a spicy sashimi sauce. This roll was very very good and I am not a big fan of tempura. The half order of Chicken teriyaki was loaded with broccoli, onions, zucchini, and LOADED with fresh white meat chicken. It exceeded expectations for flavor. The women that run the joint are so sweet and kind. Both times I have gone, I have received my order within 10 minutes, which is a very reasonable wait considering they are rolling fresh sushi. I will be returning, for sure! UPDATED8÷27÷12 Disappointed. Not a consistent sushi place.

I understand that this a food court, so my expectations should be low. But this food court(Scranton Food Court) has some pretty good food, so my expectations were higher. I ordered a spicy scallop roll to go for $ 5.50. Then I waited for 15 minutes, with no one else in line before me. In the meantime, I saw the ladies in the back bustling around the kitchen, and saw one wearing an apron put something in her mouth and then go back to cutting something else up. Ewwww… I am totally not a germaphobe but come on. Because I waited so long they gave me one piece of salmon nigiri for free so that was nice. My roll was a big disappointment, it had 4 little pieces of scallop ON it, with crab mix and cucumber in the middle. If I had wanted a California roll, I would have ordered it. And, it wasn’t spicy. It was sweet. Their daily special looked like a decent amount of food for $ 9, but I won’t be going back to try it… the ladies were sweet but the food was lower than mediocre.

2.5 stars Narabi Sushi is located in the Scranton Food Court in the Sorrento Valley area. It’s not a bad place if you need something in a pinch– which was my situation on this particular day. I had their Sushi Bento Box. Fairly standard sushi fare at a reasonable price. Narabi Susi is an okay option.
