FAVORITE spot in southeast San Diego for chamango, prueben nuestra, and Mexican dulce. My family loves their fruit bars and ice cream. We’ve never tried their sandwhich, but heard from customers eating some beside us that they’re not thag great. The bread tasted old, they said. I only come here for the fruit cups, nothing else. The service is ok. They tend to get busy, so make sure you grab a ticket from the red ticket slot.

This place is AWESOME! I called ahead because I was CRAVING a chamango and they made to order over the phone. It was waiting for me when I got there. There service was excellent and it was CLEANCLEANCLEAN… I think the smell I read about in a review is their cleaner. Some of these places are so dingy… I don’t mind a cleaner smell as long as I know they take care of their place, and they do. Will definitely go back again! Everything looked delicious!

I tried their fruit salad, the pineapple was sour making the whole salad a little bitter. And they also didn’t have papaya

Love this spot, they have so many great things its hard to choose. I have had tortas, aguas frescas, and escamochas from there all delicious. Worth the price. Only thing to complain are the staff, but im willing to let it go because I have not found a place with things this good.

This place disappointed me with their customer service. I’ve had better Tortas at different fruterias and the attitude they carry here is not worth it. If you ask them something they just roll their eyes. I’m not sure if the girl working there was having a bad day or if that’s just her face. Definitely won’t be going back and I’ll make sure I tell my family, coworkers and friends to find a better place.

There’s so many yummy things at this place. Good homemade ice creams and popsicles. I love their diablito. Lime ice cream with chamoy & a tamarindo stick. Also if your a fan of hot cheetos and cheese, they have that good cheese. It reminds me of the cheese the lunch ladies used to scoop in your chip bag for 50 cents in junior high. I don’t recommend coming here when you’re in a hurry though. Sometimes it takes some time since they can get busy.

I love this place. Endlessly inventive menu, and the owner is genuinely enthusiastic to share it all with you. As many tastes as you like, including drinks. I have no idea whether this is typical fare in Mexico. In the U.S., it’s pretty unusual to see mixes of big chunks of fruit, ice cream or ice, sugar, salt and chamoy(the spicy sauce composed of tamarind paste and cayenne pepper). There are sweet-only desserts(such as the Canastita Michoacana, a fruit-ice cream-whipped-cream basket), spicier fare, aguas fresca(including less common flavors such as chocolate), licuadas(like milkshakes), chocolate-dipped bananas on a stick, and simple ice cream cones. If you’re at all adventurous, this place is worth a trip for anyone in the San Diego area. EDIT: on review, it looks like they have more than one location. I only visited the one in Chula Vista on 3rd Street, down by the border.

The reason I’m giving this place 4 stars and not 5 is because they are really busy and they need more employees working in peak hours, the tortas and tostadas are really good and their selection of ice cream and other treats are really good. Please add more bathroom right now that you guys are going trough a remodel. Hope this helps!

OMG! How could this be so good? We had the Chamango — 3 of them and they were all consistent. First they grind the ice — it could be ground a little more but that might just be my preference. Next she mixed the red saucy stuff in and added the mango and chamoy then put these little tamarindo candies on top. She also put some Tajin(spicey seasoning) to top it all off. We like to add the tamarindo straw, and that is extra. I agree that the customer service could use some polish. Everybody is so into what they are doing that they don’t acknowledge you when you walk in or maybe not until they call your number. A smile goes a long way people ;-)… But it won’t stop me from coming here — I’ve already been two more times since we first found it two weeks ago lol!

I’m a big fan of Mexican food, candy, and dessert. This shall be my new go-to place for a mangonada. Their mango ice cream is so fresh that you could taste the little furs from the mango directly from the ice cream. When you come in, first thing you need to do is grab a number tab from the machine to wait your turn to order.

I don’t care what whole 3021 day fix p90x south beach Atkins diet you’re on, giving up on that for one trip to this place is worth the experience every time. Unless you just hate fruit altogether and even if you do, you must experience this. Scroll through the Unilocal photos and pick something. You’ll love it.

End verdad end vez d dar gusto d ir, me da coraje. Por trabajadores como estos, muchos negocios pierden clientela! Gracias y espero k tomen cartas en el asunto.

After walking my dogs today I was in the mood for ice cream. First thing a did was to check out Unilocal and I found several locations in my neighborhood. «Neveria Tocumbo» offers a 20% off your purchase when you check in with Unilocal. «Nice deal» because I wanted some ice cream. So I checked in and proceeded to look down the counter at about 18 different ice cream flavors(yummy). It took me a moment to decide and the clerk was helpful by offering me samples of any of the ice cream. I tried a vanilla bean flavor, coffee flavor, and strawberry shortcake. The vanilla bean and the coffee flavors were good but the strawberry shortcake was delicious. It taste just like strawberry shortcake except it was cold and creamy. The shop was clean and there was plenty of sitting room. The clerk was busy when I first walked in but she stopped her task, washed her hands, greeted me and proceeded to give me great customer service. She was helpful and polite. She gave me the feelilng that I was welcomed in here shop.

This place gets busy! Take a number as soon as you walk in and start figuring out what you want! We came because my friend wanted to try the corn ice cream which I found to be lightly sweet and quite pleasant. There a lots of other tropical ice cream flavors here, but most aren’t labelled which was annoying. I ended up getting mamey — a type of Latin American orange fleshed fruit. It has a musk flavor like a melon. I also had mango. They have waffle cones, not the best quality cones though. My husband saw the ad for churros in the window so I ordered one filled with dulce de leche and I saw them cooking it in an oven. It wasn’t crispy fried, kinda dry and unimpressive. Overall it was interesting to try flavors of ice cream that I hadn’t seen before.

Neveria is your stop if you’re looking for ice cream, raspados, fresas con crema, tostitos, fruit salads ETC! their ice creams are very rich & come in interesting mexican flavors! —fresas con crema:(interestingly enough it came with granola on top) the fruit was fresh but i wish they served it with both ICE and ice cream instead of just cream… we asked for shaved ice on the side which they gave us for free but the ice was too chunky —mango ice cream: not bad, but more like a sorbet gotta catch a soccer game with your dessert? no problem! they’ve got TV’s inside NOTE: Credit card minimum is $ 5 i think!

Costumer service: Is really shitty or really great. Depends what ladies are working there. Last time I went in showing the Unilocal 20% of promo they said you have to have some card that the Unilocal promo isn’t valid anymore. Weird. My brother also asked for mango in his tostilocos one time and the lady said«oh we ran out of mango» next thing you know she’s putting mango in this ladies fruit cup with the container FULL of mango. Was she delusional? So rude. For that they get two stars. FOOD: Yummms. I always go there for one thing, I should probably try other food but I’m so hooked on the tostilocos without the pig skin. I ask if they can add watermelon and mango instead! Very yummy and healthier. Atmosphere: Not racist or anything but be prepared to be around a lot of Mexicans who just stare at you. Pretty hilarious.

I love this place because their ice cream is homemade and it’s DELICIOUS! The mango is my absolute favorite. Don’t get a chamango because their fresh fruit is definitely a low point of this place. The mango chunks are always hard and rarely tasty. Instead, get the mango ice cream with chamoy sauce with a diablito straw. SOGOOD!!! That’s what I love to get. It’s considerably cheaper to get the mango ice cream with chamoy sauce than to get the chamango. I’m pretty sure the only difference is the fresh fruit.

I have lived in SD all my life and this has got to be the TOPSPOT if you want a good neveria. The reason i dont say fruteria is because fruit is not their focal point– & who can really mess up a fruit salad? Anyway, home made ice cream & paletas(ice cream pops) — AMAZINGGG! Their nieve de limon tastes just like it does in mexico. This place is authentic & you will find flavors here that you cant find anywhere else. I wont rate based on food-because i dont come here for food– although their coctel de camaron is actually really good. Aguas frescas, nieves, chamangos, diablitos, fruit salads, fresas con crema, mangoneadas… ALL delicious– just look at the pictures.

Freshly made ice cream and smoothies?! Yup! If you’re looking to satisfy your sweet tooth and quench your thirst at the same time, then this is your spot! They’ve got all typical flavors you’d expect at a Mexican dessert joint and not only are they handmade in house but you’ll be giving your palate the ultimate sugar fix orgasm! The Chamango is what they’re known for so be sure to grab yourself a cup in addition to your ice cream! The drinks is nostalgic, bringing me back to the time when I was a kid chowing down on those little tamarind snacks(I’m sure many of you know what I’m referring to)! Give yourself at least a good 30 minutes(it’s always packed)! And grab a number the moment you walk in. You don’t place your order until they call your number on the screen upfront! And check-in on Unilocal, you’ll get 20% off!
