Excellent I recommended this place. Prices are fair. You must order the bagel lox w share chai bowl. Great for two people

I absolutely love this place! Everything about it is just great. I only got the acai bowl but I loved it so much. In my opinion, the price is just right and you get so much! Everything tasted so fresh, a simple acai bowl that is packed with so much flavor. Coming from NorCal, a $ 7 bowl is probably about no more than ½ of what you get here so I was super happy about that. My favorite part about this place is the frozen acai, which made it more amazing. Small place, kind of long line, but definitely worth it.

So delicious! This place is at a perfect location, has huge portions, and many options. Usually the acai/pitaya bowls come with granola but you can change it for coconut flakes.

I always come back to OB Smoothie Bar every time I visit SD. Discovered this place when I was in college, and the $ 8 acai bowl(32 oz) always has my name on it. It’s a HUGE bowl with delicious and NUT-FREE granola! Acai is frozen but not too icy to the point where it tastes like you’re having gelato. It’s the perfect consistency. There isn’t lots of seating inside except for some cramped stool/bar seating. There are also two tables outside, but usually people walk to the beach since you’re literally ten steps away! Located on Newport Ave, you can stop by this place and get a refreshing acai bowl or many of their other items from smoothies to sandwiches. The only downside is it’s CASHONLY. Luckily for you though, is that Wells Fargo has an ATM just across the street. If you don’t have cash and don’t use Wells Fargo, read my review about Newport Quikstop. They have a delicious acai bowl(perfectly on par) and they also accept credit cards.

Best acai bowl in San Diego! I’m also a big fan of the turkey wrap! They have a big selection of smoothies, wraps, and bagels. Definitely my favorite place in OB!

Acai bowl for $ 8CASHONLY. I got mine with apple juice and as soon as I started eating it I noticed it was too runny… the color of it was too light too. I don’t know how much apple juice they poured but the acai was not a thick purée at all. In general it was barely ok. It was big but I definitely didn’t enjoy the purée that much. I literally drank the acai… it was that runny

Fast and fresh! We shared an apple juice acai bowl and a black bean wrap. I personally thought the apple juice made the acai a bit to sweet for me but the boyfriend really liked it; I’ll try the soy milk next time to see the difference. Also thought the sprouts in the wrap were somewhat sour so next time I’ll order without! Overall, a great little stop with fun fresh options! Don’t forget: CASHONLY!

Came across this place while waiting for the OB farmers market to open. They have really good acai bowls with fresh fruit on top. They have pitaya bowls and smoothies too.

When we’re in the mood for a refreshing breakfast, OB Smoothie Bar & Subs would usually be our go to! They make THEBESTACAIBOWL w/Apple Juice in San Diego. Hands down! The portion is also HUGE! But its so freaking yummy, we never share. Sharing? Who does that?! Not I! It comes with a ton of delicious fruits(bananas, blue berries, and strawberries). I once heard an order for an acai bowl with peanut butter. That’s interesting. This location truly is a bar. The shop is super tiny. If I remember correctly, there’s about 3 stools to the left side, a little table with a couple chairs, and a few seats facing the open window, another table outside(but the sun is usually beating down on this one). This is a great spot to grab an acai bowl and walk down to the water or take a stroll around the block.

I’ve been here twice, the first time two years ago and the second time was just this past weekend! Food: We get the soy milk option and the acai bowl. It’s pretty filling, so if you’re with another friend, one should be enough for the two of you! The first time, we got two and we couldn’t finish it haha It’s packed with bananas, strawberries, and I believe frozen blueberries. The honey granola and oats are so yummy with the acai. Parking: There are lots of parking available, mainly street parking. If you’re lucky, you can get parking near the place, but we typically circle around to find parking. Environment: It’s right in front of Hodad’s, so you can see people waiting in line to eat there. Ocean Beach is just down the street, give about 5 minutes to walk there and to the pier. It’s really perfect to eat your acai bowl while at the beach :) It’s a little pricy, but it’s definitely worth the experience! The acai bowl is really healthy, tasty, and filling. Coming back, hopefully in less than two years!

The acai bowls looked really good, but we came here because everyone wanted a smoothie. Got the smoothie that had something along the lines of «Tropical Sunset» in it, but it had guava juice with strawberries, banana to name a few. When the smoothie came out, it was too tart. I like tart things, but my boyfriend and I picked the sunset smoothie for the same reason that we wanted something on the sweeter side and not the tart side. Another one of our friends got the Bananajama(?) and that one was really milky. It’s good at first, but starts to get really heavy. Kind of pricey for a smoothie. We got the 24 oz. to share and it was about $ 5+. TLDR: Parking is ridiculous in the area. You’re going to have to troll for a parking space. Kind of pricey for a smoothie. Smoothies were ok.

I spy turkey in my turkey wrap. Have you found it yet? It is a single thin slice towards the top of the wrap. I didnt see it at first when I looked for the turkey and I wondered why my turkey wrap was just a lettuce wrap. For $ 4.75 the sizes of the wraps were pretty good for the price. However it was 60% lettuce and barely any meat. I was decently satisfied with this at the time when i got the wrap because I was looking for something healthy and green. But on a regular day I wouldn’t have liked how little meat there was. The taste was pretty good. I may come back and try to acai bowl since I lot of people seem to love it. The wrap was just ok but I wouldn’t necessarily get it again!

They have great acai bowls and smoothies and sandwiches. I’ve been very pleased with everything I have preferred there. They are cash only FYI.

LOVE how this little shop of joy is right next to the beach. You can just sit on the sad and enjoy your refreshing acai bowl and the fresh air, sand and water as the same time. Sounds heavenly, doesn’t it? :) I also love how the shop is a tiny family owned little place. You really feel the authenticity in shop. The only reason a star is knocked off is because the acai is a little bit on the thin side, making it melt a little too quick for my preference. Other than that, lovee it

Food: this place is very known for their acai bowls, it’s a MUST try! I usually get the acai bowl with soy milk and coconut added. With all those random things added it comes to the total of 9 dollars I can’t remember the exact price but it’s no more than 9.50 $. It’s very big too. Good size for two people. Costumer Service: The ladies who work here are very nice and helpful. But the guy who works here is rude sometimes. That’s the only downside I would give them five stars but due to his attitude they only get four. Atmosphere: Very small place so I would recommend to eat your snack or whatever you order around the pier a block away from here. CASHONLYGUYS. I REPEATSAFEYOURSELFANDBEREADY.

I love the ACAI bowls here but dislike how it’s CASH only. For $ 7.50, you get a generous amount that is enough for 2 people. You can pick Apple juice for a sweeter taste or soy milk for a thicker consistency. Both are great but I prefer Apple juice because I have a sweet teeth. The strawberries, bananas, and blueberries are fresh which makes it so refreshing. Great place to stop by while at the beach if you have cash! There is an ATM inside but who wants to be charged $ 2 extra?!

Parking was a PAIN! But your reward for finding parking in the form of an acai bowl($ 7.50) is totally well worth it. Went here a couple of weeks ago to try some, since I’ve always heard how good they are. Now, I haven’t tried many acai bowls yet, but this one has to be on top right now. They only come in one size, looked to be a pint I’m guessing? Could be good for two people, maybe not if you’re really hungry. It came with plenty of fresh fruits and you have the option of getting it with soy milk or apple juice. We opted for the apple juice, and it turned out to be delicious. On the sweeter side, of course, just how I like it. The granolas were plentiful, sweet, and provided the crunch to the bite. A bowl is perfect for a hot sunny day. The place itself is tiny, you could easily miss it if you weren’t looking hard enough. Barely no tables inside and a couple on the outside. It’s really meant for a grab and go food place, which isn’t bad at all. The service was average, the cashier was pretty nice. Cash only, though! Definitely recommend this place. We’ll be back!

First time trying the acai bowl not too long ago. This review is a couple weeks overdue. My friend recommended this place because she thought it was her favorite acai bowl in San Diego. I was satisfied with the portion and taste! It was really good and the server filled it to the top. It could feed two people cause of how big it was. It tasted really refreshing on a hot day! Definitely would come back again.

OB Smoothie Bar & Subs is now on my favorite list! OB definitely has the best anything for food — the best ice cream, the best fish tacos, and now the best smoothie place. I particularly like this place because they have the most amazing acai bowl there is in town. It’s the best because of the following: 1. Taste; 2. Portion; 3. Price; and 4. Fresh Ingredients. How can i rate it the best for taste? Well not only do they give you globs of fruit, their granola is delicious. Plus you can choose between soy milk or apple juice to top it off. Portion? It’s a big container. Easily meant for two people(if you want to share). Price? $ 7.50(cash only), how can you beat that when other places are mere $ 5 for a small ice cream cup size. And I’ve already mention fresh fruit! Will be coming back every time i have the craving and/or whenever i am in town. Thanks OB Smoothie Bar!
